Have never curl up in my bed or sat lazily at my table reading a book for so long... Last nite I read till 2 plus and let weariness take over me b4 I was willing to go to bed... Finished a book called 'The Second Chance'. Well, I picked it up cos I was short of a book... I hate to come out of the library without 4 bks unless I have to. Given on the limited collection at JW Library... Its hard to find newer books. Recently also been reading Nora Roberts... Writing under the name of J.D. Robb for a serious of adult crime novels in 2059.
Quite fun... In that era, alot of things were automated. Computers are 'cleverer', being able to perform commands upon voice command. Can perform multiple database functions... Doing those data mining stuff, process info to help indentify suspects etc. They also have robots... household ones like a housekeeper. I forgot wad did they name it... Haven read it in a while, it was b4 sch start that I found an interest in this series... Although Roberts got other nice crime novels too... and she also writes fantasy and romance... which many were bestsellers but I havent pick up...
Oh... Adult crime novel meaning... More violent, more brutal... and of cos like all books originating from the West, there are the steamy scenes. But I like the setting of the book, haha... interesting to 'take a peek into the future'...

one thing I dread is going for interviews. I simply dislike the formality (be it the ambience or the attire on me...) and the facade I have to put on. What I'm trying to say here is I have to keep on 'selling' myself to the interviewer. Of cos I wasn't throwing out stories & lies abt myself... Its because its simply not me to talk on and on abt myself... trying to convince the other party how good I am... etc. I'm sure alot of you guys can agree with me on this...
But poor us... Being university students who not only have to study hard, but are also expected to produce a wonderful CV boasting of your various non-academic achievements... showing how you can juggle those mountains of tutorials and projects with a active life outside your pile of books...
Are you a leader or a follower?
In what ways do you think you can be an asset to the club?
How would you rate yourself in terms of management in a scale of 1 to 10?
And more of these questions... Argh... No matter wad's the results... I am quite reluctant to give up wadever free time I have for myself (which means to be spent with eugene, slacking at home and meeting up with friends... heh heh)... Hai. Shld I hope to get it or not?

Well... a picture says a thousand words... Much less these 2, heh heh... Finally uploaded the neoprints which we took at Lot 1 that day...Feel much more relaxed and at ease today cos the quizes are finally over! WOO!
Anyway today the forensic science quiz was quite funny. Imagine 1200 people taking the paper in the NY Audi... not enough seats to sit one seat apart... So... heh heh. You can imagine wad happen la?
A lot murmurings... discussions, whispers here and there. =P The paper was quite unexpected la. Only 25 questions? That's 20% of our grade leh... In any case, I'm glad everything's over... Looking fwd to my recess! Hope that amidst the projects and things to do, I can squeeze out time for reading a book or two... Still haven read eugene's book - 5 People You Meet in Heaven... How long was that? Till now I still haven read...
Anyway guys... looking fwd to having dinner with u all this weekend, though its a pity not everyone can turn up! Now where should we go... hmm...

am I mad... how come I see names of psychologists I've just read on blogs... Quoted on a blog, rather.
No, upon double checking... it really is there. And it really is from what I've just revised. There I was staring at the name (Chomsky... ring a bell anyone?) and furiously trying to remember what this man did or said. Proposed a theory? Named some concept? Did some experiment? All I rem is he came from Chapter 7 - human development...
All the things I have to cramp inside my head b4 1130 tml morning... Argh.

after so long, me & eug finally managed to take neoprint tog. Cos we had went to PS, Bugis Juction but the neoprint shop there were either gone or under renovation. Now when was the last time I took neoprints? It was so long ago... in JC ba. Brought back some memories, all the squeezing in the machine and frantic rush to change pose, decorate... This is the first time I take neoprint without a big crowd, haha...
lucky for us the machine has unlimited decoration time. But I wasn't fast enough to choose all the shots I want, so end up with only 2 from all the 6 we took while trying to figure out how many we could actually choose. Its ok, takes experience, haha... we couldn't figure out the Japanese words... so next time we will go back to the same machine! Oh ya, now then I noe how overpriced the neoprint shops are in town... Cos we took ours for 5 bucks only and its the same like those in HMV.
anyway, shall scan soon and upload to show u all ya... wahaha =P
Oh ya, last nite ate Ajisen's for the first time since a long time... I don't rem when was the last. But I always love their soup base and the side orders... Spoilt for choice... haha. So many I wanna eat but can choose only one... =P
Oh well, enuff procrastination... back to revision... mug, mug, mug!

woke up in great pain this morning. wonder if it was the durians which was suspected of causing my dad to be nauseous and dizzy last night? Or is it just that my good friend decided to turn up for her monthly visit. In any case, I sat on my armchair for an agonizing half an hour before I could manage to drag myself up to wash up so I can get a hot drink. Only to puke first into the toilet. To think less than 12 hrs ago I heard my dad did the same thing at the very same toilet bowl.
What is happening?! Argh. No matter wad, it is so not the right time... I need my weekend to revise... So I just popped a panadol, the last thing I want to do. Never mind if those rumours of how long they stay inside my system. Once in a while wont hurt...
Anyway, lately people seem to be having relationship prob. My ex-colleague approached me on MSN desperate to talk to someone abt her failing relationship. Sometimes, despite all the warning signals and loud alarm bells that goes off, people still want to hang on to whatever was left of a once sweet and loving r/s.
I do wonder... In a world where people are so much more educated and open-minded, where we hear many stories of how people change their partners/spouses like the shoes on their feet or clothes on their racks... Why do things like that still happen? Is this perseverance? The I-love-him-and-I-will-wait-for-him-to-change attitude? Or do they not want to admit defeat? Of cos, the main reason is that there still is love for the other party. But if staying (or trying to make someone stay) makes both parties distressed and so troubled... Why make yourselves go through the emotional agony?
No, I'm not saying this cos I am happy in my r/s now and is oblivious and insensitive to my friend(s) (well, I'm sure there are many more incidents like this to come in future...). I totally understand where all that is coming from, I just cannot understand why when the solution is so simple - make a decision and give yourself time to get over it - some don't do it. Life is so short... And another colleague once said to me: Live for yourself...
When we were in France, among our many random chats in our rooms, Veron and me were discussing a similar topic. (we had so much free time you have no idea how many topics we can have in a single night) And she said sth like I am too rationale. Cos I made such a decision before and ended the previous r/s once and for all so there was no dragging and stuff. I hate that.
I just hope, for that friend and many others out there... Make a decision for yourself. And the someone whom u love. Cos when holding on makes life for two people miserable, why not take a step back and let go... This may even salvage whatever love you two may still have for each other even though you can't be tog and have an amicable end. Life is about so much more other than love and each other... Isn't it?

last nite would have been perfect if the neoprint shop was still there at Bugis Junction! Long time nv go Bugis le, and since me n eug trying to take neoprint tog, we tot of going there. Went for the sumptious Claypot Rice at Tea Shake Hut. You guys should really go try it! Its in the same row as MOS Burger and Mac's. Sells milk tea also... Claypot Rice is a must-try if u go there... (: a lot of chicken n sausages, and if u go on weekdays there's set meal=main course +drink.. $7.50... All thks to Veron and Guo Min who showed me the place the last time i went...
Then was dessert! Wahaha... Mango with Sago. Mango with Grapefruit. Though crossing the road to get across the street to the row of shophouses there is a bit intimidating... But so many pp's doing it!
Sian... another day of reading reading reading... Been playing this papa pizzaria game... It's wad kept me going during my little breaks between reading. quite fun, like dinner dash concept, but the graphics are cute. Maybe u all can google or yahoo it. haha...

cousin just approached me with this job opportunity. long term part time as a coordinator for entrepreneurs. the pay is good. but that's not what I was attracted to. it was the exposure and of cos the effect that it will have on my CV. yeah, I'm practical... anything wrong with that?
But honestly, 2-3 hrs everyday... Its not for me... I am not that efficient in my studies. Unfortunately I happen to be those who have to wk doubly (and maybe even more) hard for results which some people can achieve quite effortlessly. by this i of cos do not mean that they did not work hard for it, but their brains are just damn smart. So I really do not think I will be able to do this, besides, its long-term... It also doesn't help that I am not as motivated to study/mug like last time in NH.
I am starting to question myself... What do I want to achieve for myself? How come when such an opportunity jumps at me I didn't take it... I worry it'll affect my grades, but it actually isn't much to worry abt anyway. What's a 2nd lower honours worth?
then cousin started asking me have i tot abt my job, my future. What do i want to do? What kind of job do I want? What path to take? My answer was for now I just want to get gd grades, better grades... cos I haven really tot abt it. Though I've been looking out for career talks abt HRC in sch, it doesn't really count I guess... But he urged me to think more abt it and not be caught in the rat race like everyone else...
I know he meant well but I'm kinda stressed by him. Suddenly find myself very cynical. Very negative and discouraged to continue reading the stupid article. I hate things like this. Feelings like this. Too bad eug's slping... could have grumbled to him... or just talked abt it...
Feel lousy abt everything, including myself.

wondering what I shld do now... Pick up some tb to read, do my part of the project or slack my time away since its thurs and tml there's no sch.
Checked my email and saw the notice from the Financial Aid Dept. Sianz... this yr get 1150... I still rem last yr i got 1600! I think it was a trap to lure me in! Haiz. Better than nothing lo. At least it'll pay my phone bills...
I guess I can idle a while more... But I shld really pick up my psychology tb. Mid-term's coming soon and it needs a lot of memory wk judging from the guidelines they gave us to prep for it...

I'm finding it a great chore to do those readings. Some are especially dry, with endless lines of bombastic words that makes it so hard to digest. Every sentence is screaming "BORING!" to me... Hai. At least the textbk's not as bad... just that its equally long but the language is so much better. You can be quite captivated by my Psychology textbk, so colourful and with lots of pictures n backgrd knowledge to let u digest everything better. But of cos, Psychology requires us to rem a lot of terms... But well, let's worry abt that later.
Week 5 is alrdy ending... its so fast, isn't it? Soon it'll be recess and then after that will be the mad rush to complete projects and compile reports... ARGH. I wonder so far... what have I really achieved in university. No CCA, no straight As. Just avg results, that threaten to be pulled down if I don't sustain them by mugging... aiya. getting increasingly sian. Uni life is so dreadful, everyone ard is finding year 2 a complete bore. With the heavy wkload and tremendous readings...
Cant imagine what will it be like when I graduate... will all these really makes us what it takes to be a consultant?

ytd I went for my facial at my aunt's shop... My cousin happens to have a coffee stall nearby at the Bkt Timah Wet Market, so I went to visit her...
Since it was alrdy afternn, business was slow so I had the time to chat with her... Glad to see that both her n her husband's wking happily tog. But I also noticed this old woman who was collecting cups there.
Cousin told me she got a sad story... When I say she's old, she really is! She's a petite woman who's got white snowy hair, and is bent with age... Walks slowly... cos of her age - 82! Over 80 and she still has to wk! Little did I noe its cos her children refused to give her money... They refused to answer her calls. Even her husband who's old like her... is also wking...
This kind of story always make me sad... There are so many different kinds of people in this world... There are those who are poor, but yet are happy becos they learn to live with their lot. Make the best out of what they have and still be happy becos they noe how to be content.
But there are also some, who are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Maybe even gold... and waste their money on pricely possessions, drinks, women, and the what-nots. And in e meantime, waste their life away too...
This world is sometimes really unfair isn't it? Some people just don't deserve what life has dealt them...

woke up today feeling refreshed. and surprisingly... Motivated. ha. Exactly opposite of what I've been feeling like 12 hrs ago. I dunno... Somehow there's this voice inside my head telling me I can do it! I can catch up on e readings! Although... I know better than anyone else, it needs more than motivation. I also need like 48 hrs in a day. haha... Oh man, all e readings... Esp psyhology... I've only read 1.5 chapters and so far its week 5 tml... *shrugs*
A step at a time... From tml onwards I won't have to work... Hopefully I can squeeze time out of projects time to read, read, read!
Later going back to school to prepare for a group presentation tml with my grp. I'm glad at least this modules turning out good. Although its not exactly my fave. But at least I feel glad there's people who's enthu n spontaneous abt it... Okies, back to my slides...

guess its almost the same for everyone when u're stressed and overworked your mood tends to swing like a pendulum and u are as easy to snap as a stretched rubber band.
I can tell you that was how I feel this afternoon. And when I had the time to rest for a while, lie down on my bed... I cant slp. I just felt so tensed. Stressed. And my mind is so full of all the project details! ARGH! Cant even rest and relax properly to recharge. I lay on e bed for one full hour. How's that... I wouldn't call that much of a rest.
Apparently gt some cork up la. Quite pissed. The person supposed to compile went to some camp and ended up not contributing much. Not that its her fault she went for camp, she forgotten abt it. And she didn't even let us noe, or make any plans to make up for it. DAMN IT. Am I supposed to ask after u? And till now I havent heard from her, still at e camp I supposed. Next week I'm going to just do my part and wash my hands off the compiling wk. Hai.
So tired now. There's a lot to do... Although someone has helped to take over the compiling from me. I know I shldn't stop... But I just dont feel like doing anything. Just stay online. Read up on my Monday presentation and wk again tml ba.
I am so looking fwd to the recess week. Now my short term goal is
- 2300 tonight: hand up the darn group assignment.
- Mon: Last Career Foundations lesson, no more morning classes for mon after that. WOoHOo!
Group Presenation for Biz Comms.
Dinner with Eug? Havent cfm. haha. but at least its sth worth looking fwd to.
Our NH gang's at Chevron's singing KTV now. Wish to join u all too, but time's too tight for me. Maybe get u all out for a dinner someday... I still haven passed u all the Eiffel keychains...

after a long day, I had just attended a project meeting. Not to mention b4 that was this 4 hrs seminar which was mentally draining... We got back our assignment which we submitted last week, a rushed and unorganized one. I rem that nite me n joyce were furiously trying to do last min changes n discussion cos we were nearing the 11pm deadline. Plus our grp din manage to meet up to do it at all...
So getting an A- was quite ok for it, I tot. Hmm... could be cos I'm tired. My groupmate commented sth which for a while I was quite pissed. But I didn't show... although I quite wanted to say sth. I rem she came to our table saying.. " I haven open the final draft leh... haven even seen it at all..."
Then when we got it back and saw the grade, she was saying if she saw it, she would do this and that. Why the explanation nv longer etc... Come on la, all those IFs... Why didn't you open it up and look thru it when I sent you all to ask for comments? Why when submit le then say so much? I know I could have done a better job compiling... but isn't it supposed to be a group effort?! Dunno la... Just felt a bit.. upset could be the word la.. Hmm joyce, dunno la.. This was how I felt, but yep.. For a while only. Dunno if you noticed or how u felt. haha. Didn't want to blow it up besides, she didn't seem to say it very seriously though she harped on it for a while.. Oh well..
The weekend which I've been looking fwd to is finally here... but tml alrdy packed with 2 project meetings for both my core modules.. So I guess no time for me to go home b4 meeting eugene for dinner.. Then Sunday gotta go back to sch for another meeting.. NO TIME!

NO TIME!

I've decided. I will quit my calling job after next week. Simply getting too much to handle.
Don't dare to take up too many stuff at one go... in case my results get affected. Really wanna get it up by one notch ( one GPA class =P ) so I must wk hard, wk hard!
But I feel its hard cos this time round there's a lot of grp assignments. Sometimes even presentations. There's virtually one every wk for both our HR modules. So its like a lot coordination. So if u meet here, stay back there... wk once in a while. How do u catch up on ur reading huh?! Maybe I don't have gd time management. But what good is it when I dont have time to manage?
Reading one article on Hay's mtd alone took me like 2-3 hrs, cos nd to digest. They're throwing alot readings to us b4 and aft class... HATE IT! Grr...

forgot to mention in my last post... Me and eug actually wanted to take neoprints tog after the Hairspray movie but in e end we din manage to... Sad. Long time nv go PS, then do we realised the neoprint shop has long gone. Oh my, gotta update myself...
So yup, neoprint's on our agenda for now.
Today... I had sth else on my agenda... SHOPPING! My usual shopping trip in JB. This time to Jusco. With my family and 4 other family frens. (my bro's fren & his mum, my mum's fren and her son - complicated hor...)
I had high hopes for this trip cos i felt I desperately need to find a new bag! New clothes and shoes too... Cos my shoes are worn out by France actually... Those that i brought there, the poor soles walked miles... Gonna be cui soon.
My 'trophies' all came from the same shop... Alot of things going for 50% discount. 5 tops, 2 pairs of shoes and a necklace... Wahaha. Guess how much i spend? =P Abt S$90++ Only boo-boo is no new bag... I'll need to do sth abt the necklace... Make it longer, rummage ard my mum's old treasures to see if i can find the right stuff.
But having such an eventful day, I had to end it with rushing to compile my grp's stuff for Com & Ben (Compensation & Benefit, for the sake of abbreviation, not the names of my new classmate)while watching Campus Superstar... Tml gotta chiong chiong chiong! Hopefully I'll be able to do much more reading to help me catch up!

hairspray... watched it at The Grand Cathay. Woo... the seats are nice, and the theatre looks real up and glam. haha.
The movie is musical-style cos it originated from a musical. Alot of singing and great dancing... the music and everything makes u feel like dancing along with them! and the whole movie is so happy and fun-filled. of cos, every movie has a theme... the meaning behind this movie is to iron out all the discrimination and differences perceived by people... There is one particular song with some lines of the lyrics that go sth like:
The blacker the grapes, the sweeter the juice. The darker the chocolate, the richer the taste. Spread the word!
So why do they only see the colour on their faces? Why do we sometimes only see the surface of things and people? In the movie it had a gd ending, and in Singapore we don't really have this kind of discrimination. Plus the fact that everyone's more open to differences, or rather diversity... But I guess its undeniable that in certain parts of the world... some people still suffer in silence this way?
I think its really sad, that their own people don't accept them. Being isolated. Singled out for insults. Or just plain ignore you, your existence... Hmm... I guess when they say nothing is fair in this world, it really does mean sth...

Haven't been blogging cos was simply too busy... mostly with work, and just going to lessons. Well, I've decided I'm growing sick of the job and how its making me lag behind in my readings... So I shld be quitting soon. Cos I really cant get much wk done when I'm working for the whole evening and only have abt 2 hrs b4 that to do sch stuff. Sometimes printing notes, queuing, buying dinner etc... takes up alot time for me, not much left for reading, am I?
So yep... so far, my lessons... a bit boring honestly. Learning stuff but not as much as I hoped to. Feel a bit lost sometimes. I feel the concepts taught and topics brought up are too broad. There really isn't much focus. I hope the situation will improve aft I read all the req stuff in textbk. But so far, I think most pp experiencing the same thing like us...
Tml's my follow up appt for my braces. Been having it on for 6 wks! Woa. I've came so far, alrdy got used to it. haha... Its quite interesting to see how my teeth have moved, esp my canine teeth... Its now at the same row tog with the other teeth le! I have some qns to ask my dentist tml... Will see how it goes.
Today I was SO TEMPTED to eat LAKSA!!! But I din, endured... I'll wait and see how is the appt tml. If he changes the rubber bands and ceramic brackets, then next time b4 my appt I'll eat laksa, curry... etc woo! Cos even if they're stained it'll be changed anyway. No yellow, disgusting stuff on my teeth...
And you know wad, I miss Europe so much... France... saw the pics of my trip and also some of those from Yanping from her Facebook, the talk with Wenhui and Joyce that day abt the bits n pieces of our trip... makes me so nostalgic. Miss the days where I wake up in the nice Sports Hall, with the sun pouring in from the tall windows... then waking Veron up to get ready for sch... knocking on others' doors... the walk to sch... xiang nian!

watched fireworks @ Marina with Eugene just now... today's firewks were from Spain!
As always b4 the show there is this endless waiting. And Eugene happens to be not very tolerant abt waiting more than 15 mins. even if its for food. ha. So yep, since I'm not a very gd entertainer, he found ways to entertain himself also. Like talking to this photographer guy next to us. haha...
It start late though... like 9.10++ pm. And there's this lame lights show at the floating platform there with them playing with laser. I think everyone was VERY impatient by then cos pp waited so long leh... then u make us excited by counting down at the platform there... then u don't start the show but played with lazer?!?!
Lucky it was a great show... haha. Alot new firewks, some i can recognise from those i saw in France. 15 mins of craning my neck and almost 2 hrs plus of waiting... hmm. once a year, worth it ba... Last year and this year... Hmm. A bit of difference.
Last yr's show were incorporated with music. I could hear it even from across the merlion area at the 2nd bridge. But this yr... the music and everything were focused on the pp at the floating platform area. Music, lightings, angle of firewks... all for them.
Last year the crowds were more terrible. Too many pp. This yr there were crowd controls and all along Marina you see TP. all the way to City Hall Stn there's commandos at the traffic lights, police here and there. Wa... People were sometimes even running.. dash across the traffic lights.. Eugene said it was like a freakin war zone, which I must agree. The security's very tight! Poor things are those cars who kena stuck in the long line of jammed cars. Man... and the TP and commandos also add a bit of 'pressure' there...

2 weeks of sch so far. with 1 week of tutorials + presentations.
DAMN SIAN!
My HRC's core modules are quite boring... My tutors are nice but I think its the topic and the textbk tt's making things a bit dry. Plus its not helping that both are 4 hrs seminar. And they each have a rather difficult project they want us to complete. and there's damn a lot of READINGS! OMG... its like, we're only at the 1st/2nd lesson and there's alrdy readings... hai.
Boring and dry lessons aside. My electives are quite fun. Thank goodness... Forensic sci is interesting though I wish the chairs in NY Audi is not that comfortable. cinema-style cushioned seats that go all the way to ur head level... Wa... Slp condusive sia...
Psychology tut... We have a malay lady who's rather young. I like the way she conducts her tut. Quite fun, don't make me feel like falling aslp... Let's hope it stays this way...
I dunno how, but I know I gotta work hard this sem... Cannot cannot make my GPA fall liao. Must instead improve... So now? Gotta make myself adjust back. Mug gal, mug. Start reading those articles!!!

ytd was so fun! finally we got to go Sentosa tog! took quite a lot photos here and there but all in zhe's and pong's camera. hehe, you all must send us the link or sth ah...
we were so afraid it'll rain cos it drizzled a bit when while we were on the monorail. Who noes later on it was so scalding hot that I turned as red as a shao zhu and i retreated into the shelter (toilet... hehe) to go cool down and reapply sunblock on my face. I'm very glad I did cos after tt I wasn't so red and it worked out to become a tan. And it was also very unbearable to stand on the sand, let alone run! I think my feet were cooked to become well done...
anyway, we played like ultimate frisbee, volleyball (only hitting the ball to each other, not the real game though) and captain's ball! I tot we were quite enthu despite the sizzling weather leh. haha, later when more pp joined us like wenfoo, yong tat, elsie & tino, and rose, it was much more fun. Thks to all who turned up and make us all had a great work out and still have so much fun... haha.
And my fave photo of the day... happens to be of pong lying on the beach, tanning. haha... wa. i think after france my photog skills got improve a bit. haha... stupid kor, spoil the photo by saying the angle a bit obscene. Its ur brain obscene ba... hehehe. this might get me a beating...

I thought I should do Rush Hour 3 justice by separating it from my previous gloomy post simply cos its a very good movie! Those of you who's contemplating it please don't procrastinante anymore... Go grab your tickets and prepare youself for 1.5 hr of action and good humour. And I really mean good, not the lame 'ha. ha.' kind...
yup, it got the whole cinema people laughing and laughing especially at a few scenes which were rather good. haha. Of cos jacky chan's films always got NGs at the end. And it was equally entertaining too!
conclusion: WATCH RUSH HOUR 3!!!

felt better after talking to some people like kor, shuyi and eugene abt it. Well, people may say what a small world...
I say what a small, small world...
To think, after years, after putting everything down. behind. away. It all came back. Is this fate? Or is this some joke from above? I don't know how will I be dealing with it this time round, or what to think. What attitude to bring there next week. I only know that just now, everything came back in those flashback memories you see on movies n drama. bits and pieces slipping back.
well. what can I say. Yes, I don't care anymore. But whatever memories this jolted back and the nagging uneasiness in my mind from this morning till now... Even if I don't care now, I can't deny I used to. And yet, it still hurts somehow.
just want to get it all out of my mind. like... *poof*

so stupid.
how can I forget I need to submit a resume and cover letter next monday? when I alrdy did my resume in my laptop. nicely laid out and everything.
then I went to get my laptop battery to be taken a look by the technician in the com shop. with ALL my materials inside and NO BACKUP!
*slaps forehead*
What were you thinking gal?!?! OMG... Now gotta go back to the com shop and make a fool out of myself. ha. try to get it back so I can complete my assignment...
Anyway, I've been actively posting ads in the public folder in our sch's email account so I can sell my 1st yr stuff. woo... sold my financial calculator and biz law textbook. Still got other deals on hand but haven posted ads cos they're mostly still with the gal I exchanged textbks with... well! I shld be able to get them by next week. hehe.

first day
not as bad as i thought. comms seminar was surprisingly quite engaging. I think we're pretty lucky to get a good tutor. can see that he is very experienced and I shld say interested in this job. Cos he had gave up his banking career aft 22 yrs cos he could no longer stand the pressure. I think maybe this job in career services gave more meaning to his job? I sensed that coming from him... not the $$$ but the sense of accomplishment...
anyway. he's damn funny la. Kept making us laugh with his accounts of what he had met with when matching students with jobs etc. the student with bad breath. the student who cant drink and were made to attend dinners for networking etc. haha.
oh ya, and was damn coincidental to be in same class with veron and min! Totally did not plan it sia! haha...
but psychology lecture was a bit... hmm... monotonous in comparison. esp the 2nd part. Somehow the lecturers seemed inaudible sometimes. or maybe it was just my mind shutting down. hehe. let's hope it'll be more interesting ya. gotta do well for this!!!
needless to say there are always endless queues and crowds on first days in school. my morning bus ride. the lunch queue. the printing queue at the library. argh... cant stand it.

last nite went back to Bosses with Eugene. we had wanted to go crystal jade, at JP de. But I called up to chk and they said no reservations on Sat, and I sort of dread e queue that I see quite a lot of times waiting for tables outside the restaurant.
then this brainwave hit me, let's go to Bosses! Voila. haha... yeah, cos I think Bosses is much nicer than Crystal Jade with more variety of La Mian. And the prices are so comparable. So yep, we both ordered Beef Brisket La Mian. But mine is dry with a special red oil. Not spicy though. Quite like the way the beef taste... tender and tears easily in your mouth - yummy! And of cos ordered the xiao long bao. then also showed him the classy toilet. haha... its very seldom we can 'go toilet tog'. LOL
there was a funny incident in the toilet. this grp of aunties trying to find out how to make the water from the tap come out so they can wash their hands. So the three of them kpt slipping their hands in and out at the sink, but to no avail. I was quite amused looking at them while queuing. don't they know there's a sensor? If not at the sink area then its like at ur waist or leg or sth? So happens the sensor is at e waist area in the center of the sink, and the 3 of them all stand at e side. haha! of cos no water la... so i just went up to them aft a few mins and put my hand on e sensor there so they can wash their hands. so LOL. then eugene explain to them why while it was my turn to go use the washrm. haha... all the while inside can hear them 'oh...', 'ah...' haha, trying so hard nt to laugh out inside. hehe.
oh ya, u all rem that time our dinner at Bosses, we had this snack b4 the dinner? Wa. after the dinner then we realised they charged us for it... and its not cheap sia. $3.80... gee, I thought its like those peanuts etc, complimentary de lo... oh well. the food's good, so is the ambience. and we enjoyed ourselves. I guess that's wad matters (:

this morning I woke up and when washing my face I realised sth. my face was like much smoother cos i used to have some blackheads on my cheek areas and they were evidently lesser now. hmm... amazing! Just one night? Fairy godmother visited?
No la, I put it down to the banana mask. haha, cos its the only thing I had done other than my usual skincare regime ytd. So, I guess though its messy its worth another try again? hehe. shall see how's e results the next time. =P

how time flies... Its been 3 mths & we'll be starting sch in a few days' time. I still rem how ecstatic I was after my exams finished cos I knew I had a whole 3 mths of hols and a trip to Euro waiting for me... And now its alrdy over!
Was checking my timetable for next week and its pretty slack of cos, being no tutorials... But on Monday there's alrdy an assignment that will be posted online lo. And gotta hand up on Tues de. Gee... so anxious to make us wk ah? Saw all the course outlines. and schedules etc posted online... A bit starting to dread liao, the projects tt's bound to be coming up... Haiyo.
Btw, I've gotten both my electives I've registered for. Woo! So happy... Forensic science seems pretty interesting from the schedule. They even included this sentence that says:
Pls note that there might be changes to the schedule if our guest lecturers are called to the crime scene at the last min.
wa...
Going to enjoy my last few days at home properly! Grabbed a few books in e library just now, I think it shld keep me pretty occupied. Haha, oh ya... Just now tried making my own facial mask from natural ingredients at home. The banana scrub mask... Eh. A bit messy... not recommended, so i wont give u all the 'recipe' ya... haha.

Gee... so anxious to make us wk ah?
Eh. A bit messy... not recommended, so i wont give u all the 'recipe' ya... haha.

besides my job in the evening, I'm actually quite enjoying my day at home. =P I guess its really a good break b4 sch starts for me... Yeah... not thinking abt the job alrdy. no worries abt that.
Spent a good deal of time transferring stuff from the internet & my laptop to my phone. Cos aft upgrading the software, the Nokia PC Suite software finally compatible with my phone le. Woo! Lots of new themes & games.
Btw peeps, if you would be so kind... especially my friends from uni/GSS... I most probably alrdy lost your contacts from my phone aft servicing... If you're free, drop me a sms? Thks loads!

I think I havent been updating about my calling job? Cos I've been working in the evenings from 7-930pm. Well... Its ok, just calling up alumni members to update their particulars. Does this sound too innocent? Ok ok, there's some more to it of cos... Gotta ask them for some donations lo. Pledges, they call it. $9/hr simply cant be so easy right? =P
Last night was good. I had the highest call rate and highest total amt of pledges. Was pretty lucky to meet people who were willing to donate... $410 in total, wahaha. Of cos you feel good abt it cos you're helping the school ma! I didn't noe u need so much money to run a sch. 80 million, for goodness sake!
Anyway, Eugene came to fetch me from work and I was alrdy quite guilty abt him being quite lost in NTU. Quite a natural outcome since its his first time in, so I had to walk to SBS (Sch of Biological Science) to find him. Wa... Thought can eat Mac with him in sch. How were I to know they close so early during our hols? *even guiltier* So we went out to get some food since he alrdy came, which makes everything quite rushed cos it was 10 when we start to leave. And er, lost for a while. haha. Cos I dunno the rds in sch well. And my contacts make my night vision much poorer (astig)... He gotta reach camp by 0000. And he was back at the camp at 1158, after some speed and good luck with the traffic lights... If he is late I think I'll nv stop apologising... I dun want to noe the consequences sia... More duties? Charges?
Anyway, I saw Joyce's blog and her entry abt the NDP Preview... *envious* IT LOOKS SO FUN LO! ): Boohoo, I wanna go too... the stars torchlight look so cute, haha... hai. Hope next yr can get the tickets ba...

dunno wad to say. No amt of dots or sighs will express how SIAN I AM!
just when I thought I was so lucky to get a job in a HR dept. so enthusiastic abt learning everything and stuff. tried to learn when I was taught stuffs. did my best at wad I was told to do, even if it was outside my job scope. Aye, I was supposed to be an admin assistant, tt's wad I was to do. I did not ask to be landed in a company to do HR cum receptionist cum secretarial jobs leh. And they were the one who said I can go back during my term time to learn more on the job.
my manager just told me she thinks I'm not experienced enuff for the job... she had underestimated the job scope and realised she nd someone who have experience in HR.
I dunno how my colleague thinks though... its so inconvenient to talk when the manager can pop up any moment since our work area is open. And anyway... my colleague can say anything she wants since I'm leaving hor? And its so qiao that today she just confessed to me she don't like our manager a lot actually cos a lot of times she just fly into one of her infamous tempers unreasonably and scolded her without regarding her pride.
Well... just enjoy the next few days I have b4 sch starts lo...

my phone had this recurring hanging prob so much that I felt compelled to go have service it today. Cos my warranty's ending on 31st July. hehe. So last min... Or shld I say wad good timing... Nah, actually the prob surfaced quite some time ago, then for a while it seemed ok. Now its back - worse than ever. Talk abt the calm b4 a storm...
The bad news is I cant collect it today and I don't have a spare phone. So I'll be phoneless till tml aft I collect it from work. Let's see if I can survive this long w/o a phone ya? They say people today are too dependent on technological gadgets. I wonder how true is that for me... Though I think I might like being 'uncontactable' for a period. hehe =P
Anyway, later will be starting my 2nd job. As a caller to update some alumni details I think. Easy money, wahahaha. $9/hr in sch. But this is only for a mth, as I have said b4... Wonder how it goes... Shall update tonight! (Or maybe tml... =P )

went to this prata shop in thomson with eugene... hmm. the cheese prata was quite unlike the one we had in SA! I think its cos they scrimped on e cheese la. Cos in sch they only sell like $1.20 and the cheese so little sia. But the one there is quite reasonable, $1.50 and the cheese tastes so nice with the prata! Though a pity is I am still having some aches from having adjusted my braces on thurs. So i had some difficulty chewing the crispy prata properly. Need to eat damn slowly with careful, precise bites so i don't bite till my whole jaw feel like it can drop... And sad... no curry for me... (well, unless I can bear to part with $101.90 when my braces kena stained la. puis)
then went to AMK Hub. I nv went at nite b4... I didn't noe there can be so many pp there! The carpark was overcrowded... We had to go all e way to e rooftop will we can get a spot, and it was only when one car was leaving then we got it. Even the rooftop was full sia! mainly just go there walk walk, but I was also looking out for G2000 cos I heard from minshan there's a big sale there and I think its a gd chance to get a jacket there!
ya lo, so much reductions, and I will ultimately need one for presentations etc. So might as well... Was trying to decide between 2 jackets... One black and one dark grey. Of cos black one is more easy to match but the grey one is more fitting leh. So yup... got a dark grey one. Anyone wanna get a jacket go G2000 quick b4 the sizes run out ya?

Went back to SAJC after work. Rush, rush, rush! Had to wait for a manager to get a list of the names of confirmed interview candidates from me. And it was so nearing 530pm - my knock off time - and he was 'very far away' (so he says, in the plant somewhere I guess) so I was a bit kan chiong sia. haha, lucky I managed to leave in time so i don't miss the bus. Surprisingly I was early, haha.
Anyway, the play was avg lo, some of the actors can't be really heard. Over the music or over the murmuring... What makes the evening great was seeing old friends and catching up with them. Haha, kelvin nv failed to remind me how long he had known eugene(since kindergarten) and how close their block is that eug can peer into his room if he wants.
My table is so messy I cant really stand it, now maybe I can diregard it. But when sch starts and I nd more space on my table for work... I might have problem liao. Cos I didn't used to have make up and contact lens stuff on my table. Can u imagine the clutter on my table now... Gee... must do sth eh?

boss in Shanghai.
manager on MC.
colleague on 1/2 day leave.
I am alone in the office.
Yep! OMG. I am alone in the MD office, I hope the rest of today wont have much visitors or calls to give me surprises. Alrdy the courier man is late, I was supposed to wait for him to deliver an impt doc then go to e pantry for lunch. Apparently he is very late, I was too hungry. Ran up to e pantry to warm up my lunch n quickly ran down.
Cos there's a lot of confidential docs here, and my colleague left her com on for me as I still do nt have access to certain systems n she nd my help to do data entry. If I'm away for too long it'll lock itself. And of course, I don't have the password to unlock it! It'll be a tad too troublesome. she gotta reveal her password!
So now, got a list of things to do. Arrange for interviews, courier this, email that. blah, blah. Just hope no trouble ya... Then i can knock off on time n go meet the CS peeps for our annual production. Havent seen them for quite some time!

been busy cos of wk, so seldom come online. Just came home, had dinner and watched tv. Or just read my emails, and weekend has been so fun!
Woo... Sunday was a sinful day with lots of good food. Haha. Went back to Yacht Club for brunch with Eugene. Its been a long time since we were there - sort of had our 1st date there when we weren't tog yet. And this e first time we went back after we're tog. Hmm... Too bad I cant have the laksa or anything spicy there, cos it looks good! Had fish & chips which were quite nice, big portion.
Then met Pong & Ler for a drink while we wait for the rest to arrive at Vivo. Wa... White Dog Cafe got a great view of the sea! And the drinks are not bad... U guys shld try the floats, Volcano!
Dinner at Bosses/ Hei She Hui was even better. Thks to Ler for introducing us the restaurant. Now got a better alternative to Crystal Jade, dont have to go there just cos of craving for xiao long bao liao... nice decor and the toilet's like those mirror maze in carnival. haha, full length mirrors for the doors and everything. And the tea... haven done sth so civilised in so long liao... haha. Tea appreciation... no la, we ordered chinese tea to go with the food. hehe.
And of cos, not to mention the short island get-away at Sentosa aft dinner. Too bad ah pa cant join us... Anyway, Thong Ler... hope u enjoyed the simple night. Though not as happening as it might have been if it was a day at Sentosa (shucks... stupid weather...), hope u enjoyed it!
The great weekend makes me so reluctant to go back to wk today... Talk abt Monday blues... haish. lucky thing was today damn slack in e office... wahaha. Had this walk-in candidate for an interview this afternn n Grace asked me to go sit in with her so I can learn. I must say I'm quite thkful she has been so willing to teach me everything. Although I was supposed to be there to help ease her load, she nv fails to rem I was to do a HRC course and will often show n teach me stuff tt I'll be doing in e HR line in future.
So yep... I'm learning on e job... Must really thk my lucky stars got such a nice colleague n employer...
Shuyi: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! hope you like the watch! <3 heh, we'll have ur 'dinner' the next time round ya...

The Last (Spoilers ahead for Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows)
Finished up the book last night... Was slowed down here n there cos there were quite a few interruptions in the afternoon. haha. Very anxious to finish it, so I had skimmed thru some parts, hehe. I'm glad Potter didn't die, same goes for Hermione and Ron and the other members of the DA. But Fred had to die and George lost a ear. I think if there was another book, the grief that George & the Weasleys suffered would be portrayed inside ba. Can imagine how difficult it is... for ur own twin to die, and moreover Mrs Weasley has always been protective of her kids. I was so afraid she would also die when she dueled Bellatrix la! Lucky thing was she managed to kill her... I guess when provoked... a mother will be pushed to the limits to do sth for her child ba...
Becos I thru the book, too eager to find out the ending... there are few bits n pieces which I'll have to piece tog upon my 2nd reading... Which I think will have to wait a while. With work coming the next few wks, shld be rather difficult for me to pick it up again.
Well... supposed to meet Eugene for brunch b4 meeting you guys for Thong Ler's bday dinner... he hasn't wake up yet. haha... Shall go give him a morning call liao. Ta-ta guys...

our 3rd
Eugene just smsed me to call him and I did. He had to down beer cos of 'superior pressure'. haha, was feeling seh alrdy and can sense it in the phone. He's talking a bit slower and slurring his speech... Lucky thing is its in his own camp and he doesn't have to drive...
This week's a busy one for him and so happens today is our 3rd month together. Well, if u wanna be more exact 2 mths cos for 1 mth I was away in France. hehe. Managed to squeeze some time out last nite so we can meet b4 the weekend. He might be activated so he dont want to take chances. Well, both of us are not those who are very particular about dates and anniversaries. Its just sth that mark when the journey started for us. Not a MUST-celebrate thingy.
We talked abt this topic b4 - sometimes its tiresome to celebrate every 'significant' date in the relationship. 99 days, 999 days etc etc. Some girls like to fuss over their bf celebrating this day and that day and throw tantrums when their bf forgot... Eug told me his army frens sometimes scared their gf asking them do you rem what day is XXX? haha, cos the wrong ans and THAT'S IT!
Isn't it more meaningful to treasure what you have with each other now and look fwd to what you have in the future... Rather than being angry with your bf abt some date.
So... 3 mths down the road. I can only say... I'm glad (: Glad that after one soured relationship and juggling a year in the university... I've learnt to manage my time better. manage my feelings better. There are times where emotions can overwhelm you and make you do or say things that you can never retract. I know now, with the experience gathered, I can be more matured this time. But, I still let myself 'go wrong' once... hee dear, sorry about that... gave u a scare le.
And I'm also glad... that Eugene is so understanding and matured. I must say, for someone in a 1st relationship, he is doing it very well. So dear, thks for everything so far... (: muacks. love you.

First day at work
Today went on quite smoothly (: for the morning did the usual sorting and filing of some documents. Then afternoon Grace showed me more things that I might be doing for the coming 2 wks and e rest of my time there. When sch starts I'll be going back there on my off day in sch to help them with some of the work. Cos although the co. is quite big, the HR dept only has 2 pp - the manager and an executive (Grace). And Grace also has to support the MD (Managing Director) with secretarial roles. Which explains why she's so busy.
Anyway, the people there are real friendly and doesn't seem to draw that much boundaries between the 'employees' and 'managers'. Grace had introduced me to almost all the employees working indoors (nt in the plant) from the normal perm. staff to the big shot directors. Haha. Even the MD! wa... but i like the culture there. There's a very gd mix of people from Germany, Japan, China, India, New Zealand and of cos S'pore.
So I have to do normal admin duties plus sometimes act as a secretary if Grace is not around. This is the part I gotta get adjusted to cos I've nv been a secretary b4 and I might even have to face big shots from the head office cos I'm working in the MD office. Its ok, means more challenges and I get to learn more things. Plus, in time to come it'll be useful cos I'll be learning HR stuff too anyway!
But... they're real flexible abt my wking hrs. Just now Grace asked me what time would I like to start and end work, which give me quite a shock. haha, she says she's fine abt me arriving at a time I'm comfortable with. I hope not much big shots coming for the next 2 wks! :P

Just when I thought I was destined to be slacking the rest of my hols at home, I got a positive reply from 2 job offers. And one of them was quite surprising becos if I were to be accepted, they shld have called like last wk?
Yep, I'll be wking for the rest of my hols in a HR dept somewhere in the Jurong Industrial area. The manager seems to be quite nice, she said if I wanted to learn more she might even be able to arrange for me to sit in their interview sessions so i can get to learn more HR stuff. And... I'm paid $8/hr. woo!
the 2nd job is only for a mth, and only a few days of the week. Mon-Thurs and Sun. starts like 7pm in the evening till 10pm. I have to call up some alumni members to update some stuff. Basically its just calling people and I get pais $9/hr. Yeah, I accepted it though its like 3 hrs a day cos its in sch. which is pretty damn near. so i dont mind like popping over after dinner since its so close. Or I can stay back n do some work in sch then wait for it to start. Either way... its some easy money. yep... gotta work hard if i wanna travel I guess.
Office wk starts tml... so i have like more than 2 wks there? :P

I AM DAMN BORED!
Hai. I am waiting got the DivX player to be downloaded so i can watch my series of Heroes I got from Wanting today. I'm getting bored to death at home. Tonight of all nights feel so restless... Took a 2 hr nap just now, cant slp early... Man, I hope I can quicklystart watching!
A number of things to keep myself occupied:
1. Read Half-blood Prince since Deathly Hallows is coming
2. Make sth for Eugene? This Thurs happens to be our 3rd mth tog. Gee... time flies. Making sth for him will sure kill a lot of time n might be a nice surprise.
3. Bake brownies? Nah, I cant eat much brownies now...
As you can see... this is a much crappy entry. I'm getting bored to tears...

Since my laptop is one fo the 'headquarters' for the pics we taken during GSS... Here goes, more memories of the trip...

The fantastic dinner of crepes and sorbet in Troyes: I think this was where we started bonding together...

Unlucky day in Versailles: raining and no shelter to eat lunch. 4 to a brolly

After walking miles we were finally at Chinatown! Loads of pp talking in Canto there.

This was in London, I forgot what's the name of this place... heh heh. So sorry, we were on our way to Chinatown!

At the rose gardens beside the Chateau in Compeigne with Adeline: we couldn't find the roses, wonder why?

met the GSS peeps last nite for Seoul Garden at Marina Square. Finally, after many 'detours' we finally could meet. It was nearly cancelled... lucky we could still meet as planned. haha, was fun of cos... eating and chatting tog. A bit like the GSS days? just that now we're back in familiar grounds, and some of us have grown to become very good friends. We also got some stuff in e queue coming up... Sentosa next week! Really hope can wk out, if not when sch starts, everyone will be busy. North-spiners and South-spiners may not even cross each other's path in sch. So sad...
Anyway, we tried to exchange some photos using my laptop n vincent's. So now my com is full of almost everyone's pics and gotta pass it to e rest. You cant imagine how many GB we all got. haha... I think I shld be developing total of 200-250 photos... and is mostly 'faces' not 'scenery'... haha. If I could I would develop more le... but $$$ constraint! :P
We were quite enthu last nite, the photo-sharing after dinner lasted till like 11. We were playing Murderer at the Roof Terrace in Esplanade while waiting for e photos. haha... another memory from the GSS France days. Nights, rather... Nights of card games, chatting sessions and murderer after dinner... How slack!!! then even when we went back, we still log on till like early morning. I was among the last to leave... at 4am. Can imagine how shag i am, woke up at 8++ to meet Eugene for breakfast. He had this sudden craving for the yuan yang at the Wan Zai HK Restaurant...
He dont have any more duty for the rest of this month... Shld be more free ba? (:
A lot of coincidences lately... Saw two ex-colleagues from SH on Fri & ytd. Dear Sarinah's now wking in Sentosa! So fun... as island supervisor. She seems to be happier... new haircut. haha... so cute. hope she and her abang doing well tog... haha. both of them cant recognise me. Stared at me for a few seconds until I say my name out then they noticed the changes... My contacts, my braces... hahaha. So cute to see their stunned expressions. LOL...
I guess I shld be expecting more of this when sch reopens... shall be interesting to see the reactions... haha!

woke up this morning to have my plans ruined 1st thing in e morning. When I've finally got the time to go swim, it had to rain! GRRRR..! so yeah... idled around as usual. reading this book now - Undomestic Goddess. Having flipped thru the first few pages... found that its quite nice, another light read. About this lawyer who's had all her time devoted to her job. NO LIFE! and how she flopped cos of a major mistake and found her way ard in her life.
Previously read The Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl... another light read but, I dont like it that much. Too much stuff abt sex and call girls i thought, most imptly... I dont like the ending. Its so abrupt. I didn't even know it ended! until I turn the page over and found it surprisingly empty... then did i realised it ENDED. talk abt cliffhanger... I literally jumped over the cliff.
Got this job offer abt a receptionist cum admin assistant. All the while last wk I've been trying to get work, and now that I got this call with a gd pay and location... I'm hoping I wont get it. Aiya, what exactly do i want? haha... I'm so conflicting myself. I guess I just wanna 'nua' at home.
Going to watch Harry Potter with Eugene tml! yipee! Eug surprised me though, he had told me gotta wait till the wkends cos there's a last min insurance talk that he gotta stay back for. Now he had just called and said he applied for leave liao. haha... and he's booking the tics online, so its tml! Anyway... Sorry abt this, NH crowd: I know we sort of have a unwritten pact to watch HP every yr de. But lately the movies either I dont like or he watched, and I promised him I'll watch a movie w him when I come back... Sorry to bang seh u all!

I came online wanting to blog about alot of things but I'm not like having writers' block... GRR! Anyway... These few days I've been brushing my teeth more than ever. Trying to avoid food that will colour my teeth. As best as I could. haha... cos of my ceramic braces ma, cant afford to have it stained. so after a meal at home usually I'll just go brush my teeth. And i think my record was on Sunday, I stayed home whole day and I counted how many times I brushed - 7!!!
I saw Joyce's blog about their 2 wks in various parts of Europe. WA... super gian to go back. And have this streak of regret abt not extending with them... it seems really fun... Although it was a bit hurried... Hai. Nvm... all the more I want to go back next time... haha. A good reason to I guess... I wonder if we go on Free & Easy tours would we get the same experience as they do. Or rather, will SG's tour grps go to e same destinations like London's...
Anyway, mum's been wking at JP at one of those blue pushcarts selling costume jewellery. She was telling me how she managed to stop some sch girls from stealing some rings when she was wking... And I do not realise how brazen these teenagers can be until I hear for myself. Apparently when their attempt to slip away some trinkets was foiled, they decided to come back again. This time on another shift... so my mum doesn't recognise her and her colleague dunno abt it. But this time they weren't lucky enough. The neighbouring stall's uncle who were selling watches saw them behave suspiciously so he kept a watch on them.
At busy periods it was simply to busy at e pushcarts so its quite kind of the uncle to help them out, he caught them while they were walking away, red-handed - one had 5 rings that cost $5 each in her hands lo... Can u imagine how daring they are? And seeing how determined they were to steal sth, coming back the 2nd time like that, it simply shows that its not a mere impulsive act. Neither is it a childish dare from classmates. Ridiculous... they were lucky lo, the uncle didn't turn them in to e police or the mgmt cos he said its not his stuff it seems not right to interfere but he gave them a stern warning...

Have you all ever wondered why we always bear to spend more on presents for other people than ourselves sometimes? Like we wouldn't mind buying this expensive wallet or shirt for our friends or bf/gf but when we think of buying it for ourselves... we cant bear to part with the money? haha. Well, if you're those that's opposite of this then ok lo... Skip this paragraph ba =P
Anyway... I met Veron, Guo Min and Candy to shop in town. OK, once again I was reminded of the fact that I didn't buy presents for Guo Min and she bought for me. Honestly... I really did consider buying. But in France there wasn't much I could get, and London was too expensive. So I only bought for my NH friends... and it didn't cost a lot... Besides, at that point of time I was more worried after my post-trip expenses... My contact lenses, my camera... things that nd $$$ that gotta be fixed. I didn't expect the camera to work itself out. And my lens... thk god, can make only one side... if not I gotta spend like ove a hundred bucks. So yeah, can understand my plight ba?
Finally bought a tube for this long top I bought at Mango sale... then I dunno why got this urge to buy sth for Eugene... add sth to his wardrobe. Not that its not working well... haha. We were at Pull & Bear trying to find sth suitable for him... Polo tee? T-shirt? Finally settled on sth which actually caught the girls' attention first. The light blue tee with some prints and these words: Yacht Club... I absolutely had no reason not to buy it... Nice colour, sth he'll wear, new arrival... and Yacht Club was actually where we went to for our 1st date, b4 we started anyway... so yeah... bought it...
Also looking for shoes... and bag. Nearly bought a brown tote though, I tot the price is rather reasonable aft e sale and the design's not bad. But Guo Min said her fren is selling sth similar and at a lower price... Hmm... why not? Just take a look no harm anyway... =P

you have no idea how sian it can be... or maybe you can. You're one of those like me... slacking my time away. and ENJOYING it... wahaha. watching tv, idling online, reading my books borrowed from Ash-jie... and later I'll be shopping with Veron. woo!
honestly, the search for temp jobs is like harvesting no fruits. its all too far... how come i kp getting the oil industries jobs? There's this job that gotta bring me to some ISLAND and its not Jurong Island some more. I gotta go Harbourfront and take ferry there... My god, is it some coincidence or what... anyway, rejected it... not worth the travelling time.
last nite was very busy in MSN... bt I'm glad for all e catching up. Esp with the GSS pp, now that we're all back from Europe, can chat and slack tog etc. haha... there was this big grp convo and we were chatting away like we used to in France... sadly, I think when sch starts, the novelty of this shld die away ba. Some is bound to drift apart... Like wenhui, I'm surprised how short her memory span is... when she is such an intelligent gal. Maybe her memory saved for more 'impt' stuff. haha...
You know, I'm so bored that I volunteered to help my MJ kaki do his project... Mkting project. but its quite vague. just to mkt any product. And no limits to the market even. Like just to cars or laptops etc. ANYTHING. 5000 report. I still haven got the question yet. But i think its going to make me occupied, so be it! Haha... see la, how bored I am...

just woke up and now's eating my breakfast... Wa. I was amazed that I actually dreamt I was back in France. With Adeline! haha! I thought I had adjusted back... I guess going to fetch the rest back from the airport on Fri triggered memories of the trip? Its so funny... I rem me n Adeline were also deciding which flavour of sorbet to get in the Piccard frozen food supermkt. And its the same thing in my dream except the supermkt's much larger... =P
Well, kind of adjusting to my braces le. Now I can bite more properly than past few days. Cos it had been hard to chew on the more solid food with the back teeth hurting. Now its not so much of the back teeth giving me probs, but my canine teeth... cos its bracket is pushing against my lip... Argh. Cut it terribly... Cant open my mouth too wide in case I aggravate it again. haha... Wa... Wonder when will that lip heal...

hmm... I'm glad I went to wk for the 3 days... at least it gave me a bit more financial stability. Cos these few days I've been spending quite a lot I realised... Luckily I didn't spend that much in Europe, so I don't have that much qualms abt spending here. Although of course, there is this tendency to convert everything to Euros and you tell yourself "hey, this is cheap!"
Apparently its only something to 'deceive' yourself... cos hey, you are in SINGAPORE! not Euro anymore gal... But anyway, been meeting up friends and kakis so ya, spending the money on food... So it doesn't matter. Cos I like catching up with them... and just hanging out. Keep up the contact while we can, b4 sch starts and everyone gets busy... well, tonight meeting my kakis for dinner at Newton. They're real accomodating and wa... seriously touched. Cos we were actually supposed to go for steamboat buffet. But since I just put on my braces... I couldn't afford to eat that much. They change venue n food... wa... So yep... 07/07/07 and we're meeting at 7pm. think they're gg to look for table 7... haha

well, ytd was my unofficial last day of work. Cos we're still not very sure if there's a nd for me to go back next wk. The pp there are quite nice actually. And its just so qiao that I was working in the HR department... of cos, 3 days is not enuff to learn anything abt HR. But at least I saw how they operate, and how the company recruits staff. AND... got contacts liao ma. If nd to go there for PA I can drop them an email... wahaha.
today... is the day I put on my braces. haha. went there early in the morning not knowing wad to expect. Wondering how long it'll take, how pain is it, etc. But it completely took me by surprise... It wasn't as pain as I expected it to be, in fact, I actually think its not painful at all. I guess this is wad the extra money is about... less pain and less discomfort. But of cos, longer treatment... but my doc did warn me next few days might be pain though... see how it goes...
Anyway, the wire is still quite fine now so its not very obvious from afar. Of cos, if u're like sitting beside me or talking to me face-to-face you can see it la.. and gotta get used to havin these little things inside my mouth... plus eating with them inside. Its quite a chore. Gotta clean my mouth aft eating... ah... the little things that I gotta get used to...

today is my first day of work. Got e lobang on Friday evening for a 1-day assignment at Jurong Island. Its admin wk and most likely will be extending my wk accordingly to the work load there.
the HR executive was supposed to meet and drive me to e island. I found her quite a nice woman... =) very easy to chat with and alrdy jokes around with me in a sms b4 we even met. She's also from NTU... B&F. She later became my mentor at wk and I was to wk in the HR department... Ha. What a great coincidence right. But so far I only sorted and filed documents, dont have much exposure to HR stuff.
I really gotta mention how tight the security is in Jurong Island. Well... even b4 I got there, strictly spking. According to a new policy, no more temp passes are issued. So temp wkers and contractors like me gotta change our IC for a pass to enter the island every single day we're going in... And the queue in the morning is long de lo... The pass expires on the dot when I knock off. And this island pass I gotta surrender at the company's security post for a visitor pass... That's not all, when I go bk home aft wk, I am supposed to get bk my IC right? Well... aft I retrieved the island pass, I gotta make the bus uncle stop at e departure hall so I can get my IC b4 leaving e island. And YES... the whole bus gotta wait for me... So paiseh sia. Lucky just now no queue... If got queue the bus will go n I gotta take a public bus...
The sad thing is the bus shuttles between Jurong Island & JE... not boon lay! A detour for me... My only 'complaint' is the security and the shuttle bus lo... Other than tt, actually I quite enjoy e job. Cos its slack and my colleagues are nice to me. Just file only... hehe =P Ket's hope they can get me some miraculous pass so i don't have to be at e mercy of the queues and the shuttle bus uncle every morning of wk...

back from my MJ kaki chalet! well, wasn't expecting myself to slp much and it was really the case. 1st nite we din slp at all cos we stayed up playing cards (most of the adults play MJ with $$ de so we nv join them) and chatting till day like 9+ in the morning.
Only caught like 2 hrs of slp then woke up again. 2nd nite was more rowdy cos its full strength - those who're busy with family, wk etc will be turning up then. BBQ with my kakis are always fun and delicious cos I nv have to go near the pit. wahahaha. And they catered the food from BBQ wholesaler so it was just putting the food down to cook, dont have to do much prep.
But... I stayed in the chalet thru out the 3D2N... didn't step out at all... ha. Read my book sometimes while they play MJ, or just watch TV. We watched Jacky Wu's variety show tog and had a lot of gd laughs tog. Then Eugene also joined us to stay for e nite though he was engaged with earlier cos our kakis were quite eager to see him.
Showed some kakis my photos from the trip. They were envious that we got a chance to go Europe for exchange and travelling. Indeed, I didn't regret spending a sum of money on that either. Really broadened my horizons alot. Plus I came back with a bag full of wonderful memories and made new friends from other faculties... OMG. Like, finally? haha. other than those from SA/NHSS, I only have a few friends from other fac...
One of my kakis told us a creepy encounter he had at his camp during his NS days. Shocked me out of my wits tt such a thing to happen. And its so near us... =S the Jalan Bahar camp...
Anyway, tml I'm working at this company in Jurong Island for a one-day assignment. Might have to extend till like Wed or Fri. Taking it up since I dont have anything at hand now anyway... And no harm having more $$ with you right... hehe.
Ah... Seeing the date reminds me of sth... the GST hikeis offically effective... today is July 1st peeps...

This was the night where we planned a birthday surprise for Veron, Wan Teng and Lionel - the June babies. It was quite funny the way we popped up at Ade's place (where the zhu jiao of the nite were there) cos it didn't turn out as it worked. Someone was supposed to switch off the lights aft we entered the door so the person with the cake (& lighted candles) can come in for e surprise. But the person who was supposed to off the lights didn't do it properly cos the switch there is a bit funny. To off/on both the lights, the switches are supposed to be in opposite position de. Not like in Singapore, where you have them both flipped back or both front. So he was there, flipping the switch back n forth, and the lights were going on and off... Trying to figure out how to off them both. And the rest of the people in the room were just staring and waiting... and Veron asked: "Why are u playing with the lights huh?"
She seriously had no clue it was a surprise... LOL. but it was a great nite! Had cake and chips plus some wine and coke... =D

our cookout cum pot luck! This is actually the 2nd time we're having such a major cooking project. This was when we're at Compeigne, the 2nd hostel where we have a kitchenette in each room. Me & Veron were in charge of the porridge (since the 1st time was very successful hehe =P ) then the other gals cooked pasta. Vincent brought some beef and potatoes, then Lionel & him roomies got pizza! we also had ice cream for dessert... needless to say, another wonderful night...
One of my fave shot! Becos it was at night, not many of our cams were 'powerful' enuff to take gd shots, yet the scene was too nice... this was the only clear one I could get, from Veron's cam. Love it! You can even see the light beams from Eiffel... It scans the area around it by just going round and round... like a lighthse.
Anyway, we were all rushing to the front and back, again and again... To make full use of the 10-15 mins of the Eiffel Tower light up to take as many pics as we could. Trying not to block others also. haha. there's like 2 or 3 grps of pp taking at the same time lo...
I just had a tooth extraction appt in the morning and now I am back, with this irritating piece of cotton in my mouth, hindering my speech and I cant really eat or drink now... Gotta wait for the bleeding to stop, or at least lessen b4 I can do sth abt my lunch. Today seems worse than last wk, though I did not feel as giddy. I bled a lot, to begin with... Spat out quite a few mouthfuls of blood when I was changing out the cotton. Yucks.
Anyway... there's some pics I want to upload in Friendster but cant cos the size is too big... So here goes... And I realised there are some random events I like to bring up which I didn't. Cos too many things happened... Seeing Ade's blog made me realised I've missed up some memorable events. Haha. Ok, those are coming right up with the pics.
Met up with the NH crowd last nite. Finally! Havent seen you all for so long, we've all been busy with our own life. Kor asked me how come i seemed so hyper last nite, well... of cos la. So long nv see you all. And its not easy to get everyone out when most of us are busy ma. Of cos, as usual there were the many laughs over dinner and our chat...
Pong and Thong Ler was very interested in the amt of alcohol we drank during the France trip. haha. Seriously... Learnt more abt wine after the trip in France. Like how long it takes for a bottle of champagne to be ready to sold to the market. From the moment the grape seeds are being sown (er, I nv visit the vineyard, I dunno if they are really grown tt way ah...) to the moment where the fermented deposit is being removed and capped back to be packed and sold... Its at least 5-6 yrs. Throughout the whole process, alot of work is done by human labour... Can really imagine the effort put in hor?
Btw, only champagne produced in the Champagne region in France can be called 'champagne'. all other areas in France doesn't count. That's the thing i learnt from the lesson... =P maybe will be useful in future.
Here goes... I'll be uploading pics and some slips of info here and there abt my trip...

Not that I'm going to neglect this blog... =P but been keeping in touch in France through Friendster since its easier... I think not many would have expected this blog to be updated? hehe.
Met the gals today to exchange photos and have lunch tog. Girls from the GSS-France whom we spent a mth tog. Had a great time laughing at certain photos... And also updating each other, gossiping too I guess? haha...
anyway... finally fixed my hp and IE7. I'm so glad I can have my internet back. Its so inconvenient when there's so much photos to look thru etc...

well... today is stay home day. currently the plan is to learn some french, just bought a phrasebook ytd. read a few pages n was learning some useful words & phrases n how topronounce them. but i think I nd to go online n search for those audio aids that help pronounce de. I dont think my pronunciation is accurate. hehe.
ytd went to shop in JB. for stuff that i nd for the trip. First shopping trip. things on my shopping list were shoes and a dress for the Gala dinner. BUT. no dress... only bought one pair of shoes cos the rest didn't seem nice. but i did saw one pair of heels which had me tempted to buy. VERY tempted. Its white, strappy. tried it on and its quite nice except for the fact that its 2.5 inches with those pointed heel. not wedges or anything easier to walk with. but its nice leh... wa. so in e end, mainly cos of its height i didn't buy lo. KIV ba...
these few days had been trying to get used to my contacts. Now I'm getting more comfy with them. but still a bit inconsistent in removing them. esp my left eye. its ok, i guess practice makes perfect is a saying there for a reason. another I'm afraid of is scratching the lens. cos i only have a pair - perm ones. Starting to a bit regret why nv use disposable ones... haha. but then... heard its less drying. aiya, both got its pros and cons i guess. for now I shall kp my nails shorter so that i wont risk scratching my 130 bucks down the drain!

this morning went to collect my contacts... just now had to try putting on and removing them in e shop. ok la, was smoother than i expected. except, of cos, my left eye wasn't as easy to handle as my right.
just now after lunch and a little nap, I tried it on again. Wa... i think it was for about one hour plus to two... cannot, I felt I had to take them out. Cos my eyes were getting tired... hopefully, tml I can manage to put them on slightly longer. So that by the time I'm supposed to set off for my trip, I am comfy with them.
Now that i just removed them and put on my glasses, feel more confortable. but can feel the difference. my eyes are tired! haha... okok. go take a short rest for my eyes now. have a great wkend guys...

woke up in the morning to this stupid mess. really pissed off now. How come these few days got so many things to ruin my mood. puis. that time borrowed a dress from cousin for my presentation and after that i had asked mum to help me return to her. But mum came back with it saying aunt say, leave it here first, I might need it. I was pretty sure i wouldn't, that's y i return wad. But mum still brought back.
And goodness knows where she put it. Now I'm abt to go return my cousin her jacket then my aunt say oh.. then maybe u return the dress also ba. SHIT. now my mum dunno where she hang it, she said she put it in my room. Now its in neither of my cupboard ok. I even went to chk hers and MY BRO's. where is the stupid dress now... ?!@#?%$^
dont worry, wasn't cursing. Just that those symbols described exactly how i feel now. like a shit. (phrase borrowed from Min)

I got caught in the crossfire during dinner... was just an innocent chat between me n my bro. asking him if he wanna freelance for my friend and he said he might not be that pro enough to be paid for his editing cos so far he learnt only e basics. end up my dad picked up this line and asked him why not learn etc. Aiya... boils down to the fact that my dad doesn't understand our way of lives and studies. And when we try to explain he cant get it, so end up getting hot and bothered. my bro also lost his patience trying to explain to him. And worse... dad brought in my bro's gaming issue again... and there u go, that's the catalyst to *boom*
by then... u alrdy have 2 angry men at e dinner table. me n mum ate our dinner, once in a while chipping in trying to make peace. there was once my mum n i were talking to each other, with my bro n dad practically shouting at each other at the other side of the table. haha... we were so zai right. We could still CHAT. then another time was when my bro and I were talking by ourselves while dad was raising his voice at us. we were, of course, talking in english... now dont u wish sometimes ur parents can dont understand wad u're trying to say while saying stuff under their noses... wahaha. this is when ur parents dunno english is actually a good thing. (but mind u, my mum noes a bit so we still try to use chim eng when we nd to talk ourselves)
Me: This is why I am starting to feel rebellious nowadays.
Bro: Ya la, I dont care alrdy... I will just talk back, he just dont understand.
(Dad: (in the background) You always use the computer to play play play...)
well... I know its rude la, haha... but how to calm him down when he's blasting right. the only thing i can do is distract my bro so he wont talk back anymore. and at the end, when my bro walked off feeling pissed, I tried to explain to my dad wad my bro had been doing n wad his game is abt. But aiya... he fuming alrdy where got listen, ended up getting shout at. Then my mum also give up... now we have one angry father, one couldn't-be-bothered son, one helpless mother and one caught-in-between daughter lo...
Hmm... not feeling sad or depressed abt this la. Kinda used to this occasional tiff cos of my bro's gaming. What I am trying to say is this time its really not his fault. This kind of thing is not just one incident... its snowballed from the past. Cos of the generation gap between us. At least mum has aunts and my cousin to discuss and tell her more abt our sch and life inside. And though she's still old-fashioned in her thinking sometimes, most of the times she understand. But dad, being outside working most of the time, and is those kind of dad who doesn't and dunno how to show concern to his kids. (you noe... those olden days where fathers have ego lots bigger than the size of their fists) Its hard to communicate.
So what is the moral of the story? I knew long ago, and that is why I wont want to repeat this 'mistake' when it is my time. I'll want to have kids early so there's no communication barrier and age/generation gap. And the magic word is - communicate...

called cousin back this morning and he asked if I need travellers' cheque. Hmm... another thing to check out for my trip. Actually... there's loads to do, and I have abt 2.5 wks left. Hearing it now seems ok right? But actually... its very fast... excited over the trip of cos, it'll be fun to do the shopping and doing up lists of places to visit, food to try or places to visit.
you know, lately I am feeling rebellious. or shld i say my mum is getting over protective, paranoid. am starting to feel it get to my nerves. and then this little voice in my head will go "relax, dont quarrel with her". but of cos... there's also this lil devil that we are all so familiar with from movies we watch that goes "tell her how you feel, you deserve better!"
argh. eugene was telling me I shld think of the brighter side that she is bothering to get worried with me, at least she cares. But aye... there's a limit to everything. Maybe as I am drawing nearer to 21 - which signifies adulthood - I am starting to feel there are some changes that I need in my life? Of cos, I wont turn rebellious over this. to want to have my way. Just cos I'm 21 I need my way? Nono, of cos not... just want her to see things the way I do. the way me n my bro do.
Last night both of us 'ganged up' together for a moment. which surprised me. haha. well those with lil bros shld noe why the surprise. But I guess he is feeling the same way. But lucky him, being a guy, naturally all mothers( or maybe I shld say some huh) are more laxed with them. Puh-lease... well, I wanted to go out for supper. If I had to worry abt public transport, of cos I wouldn't go. But if my fren(which happens to be eugene but since she still dunno...) can drive me home then I dont see why not. And she gives the same reason - gals shldn't be going out so late. If I weren't concerned abt ruining e date, esp when he is alrdy on his way over, I might really have retaliated. LOOK AT ALL THE FREAKIN' GALS IN NIGHTCLUBS! aren't they gals?!?!
okok. simmer down. simmer down...

finally... the long awaited day came, exams over as of this monday. WOOHOO!
anyway, monday spent the time with my classmates. Going to Bugis with them since they wanna go temple to bai bai. We had lunch there and i dropped by my kaki's wking place at the pet shop. Hmm... the claypot rice at this little shop is not bad. Quite fragrant and healthy i shld say, cos they cooked the rice then place it in the claypot so there is no burnt rice. Well. of cos if u are those who attack the burnt rice once the claypot rice is served, u might not like it. =P I forgot the name of the shop, but its called Cha(2) Xuan(1) sth... it sells bubble tea too.
yesterday was havoc, haha... honestly I never come out so early in the morning for a date b4 la... but since its a holiday and we're both very free, we just tot we could meet for breakfast at vivo and just slack the rest of the day away. You know, the ba chor mee and hokkien mee in food republic is not bad. You guys shld try it... ya lo, u guys asked how come since we know each other from sec sch, now then start right... I guess sometimes things just take one big round to happen ba...
And to end the day was Spidey! *spoiler ahead those who havent watch* I really like this movie, was totally worth the 9.5 bucks i think haha... spiderman movies, besides action, always seem to give some thought-provoking or meaningful statements. this time it revolves around everyone having a choice in everything they do. Be it the Sandman, Spidey etc... And i really didn't expect Harry to die, and so patriotic too. After he knew the truth abt his dad's death, he didn't blame anyone and came out of it to help Peter. Wa... this kind of friend is hard to come by sometimes dont u think...
hmm, today have to prepare for the interview tml alrdy. a bit nervous, cos it makes a difference to whether we can go into the THM course which is very competitive. Make or break us. and after the exams... I'm hoping fervently it can make it for me!
