remember the island creamery which we mentioned during dinner at Pasta Waruku? Haha. I finally got the address from eugene le, its at Serene Center! Jalan Serene.

We went there cos Eugene is craving for their mud pie. And the original plan was to go to Adam Food Center that is supposedly opposite Serene Center. I said supposedly cos we spent like ten mins walking back and forth the road junction. So funny... we cant see anything close to a bustling food center nearby! On one side was the neighbourhood police post, on another was a dark creepy building... LOL. We were like, where was it?! In the end we went to this restaurant called Mad Jack just beside the police post. It seemed good, the pricing was affordable and all around the restaurants we see magazine & newspaper clippings of recommendations.

We wanted to kp some stomach space for the dessert, so we decided to get sth not so heavy. In a hurry I didn't take pic of the food, and also cos the lighting wouldn't allow my hp's cam to take gd pics. And we were in a hurry to finish it cos I was given wrong info from a website that the Island Creamery closes at 9pm la. And my food came at 2042. I took less abt 8 mins to finish it and off we go rushing to Island Creamery. haha... I had Grilled Fish in Cream Sauce while Eug ordered Grilled Chicken in Black Pepper Sauce. I must say his chicken chop was quite big!

And here comes the star of today's story...

The mud pie's actually like an ice cream cake, so its pretty hard to start by eating that. A tad too hard cos its like frozen. The double scoop ice cream, the scoop on the left pretty's obvious wad is it - Cookies & Cream. And the one on the left, anyone wants to guess? Wahaha. I bet u cant get it...

Teh tarik ice cream!

And it taste real good, no bluffing here. We were saying it tastes better than some of the real tea we drink out there. You know... sometimes the teh tarik in Can B can be so argh. Like diluted. :P This tastes great!

I'm thinking of how to bring us all there... Eugene told me to choose 3 people to sit at the back, I was telling him its not possible. I want all 6 of us there! haha... Then can bring u guys to try Mad Jack too... hai. We'll see how, maybe when Pong or Thong Ler buys a car?!?! wa... long wait. hee.

I was having a bit of a dilemma ytd after catching some slp & waking up for my Sunday. Shld I meet Eugene or just stay at home to do my untouched acct tut that was due the next day?

I know the politically correct answer is to stay at home, be a gd gal and finish up my work. But then like Sat, I looked back at my week and I realised that I didn't had much of my personal time at all. I know, recess week is NOT a break. But hey, its the only time in the term where u can do sth in e week w/o feeling guilty that you have not done a certain tut or wad. So... I went off to town, initially to see him in the COG ceremony. Actually we were expecting it to be cancelled, and we would just meet for dinner. But who knows that in the rain, it still started. And I didn't had an umbrella with me. So I ended up reading a nice book in Times at PS. James Patterson! I want to finish the book again some day. :D

So, dinner was simple - Kopitiam. haha.. usually in cold weather like this I like to have sth hot & soupy. Which made me ate my ban mian! Love the soup base, yummy!

We actually have an 'agenda' for wanting to eat dinner at PS. Cos I wanted to try the Mango Ice at Ice Monster ('Bing Guan') at B2. Saw it there for some time alrdy, and last few weeks it was featured in some show on Ch8. So yep..

Its not bad, I had wanted to try the durian mango ice but eug was sort of having a bad throat. But ya, we both think its a bit overpriced. We ordered the bigger one for 8.50. Its like the size of a medium soup bowl. Hee.. but the ingredients are fresh. Love the mango!

the recess week passed by in a flash. I wouldn't even say its recess week, puis. Look at the amount of work we had to do, meetings we had to attend, research for projects we had to do! And I havent even factor in my tut & revision. I didn't had time at all.

And so I decided, if there was any day of the recess week that I shld and CAN feel its recess, its the weekends.

Met shuyi & co for dinner at Marina Sq. Never fail to feel good when I'm around you guys (:

Dinner at Pasta Waruku! First time there. Pong recommended their cold pasta (every one of the 4 is nice :O ) but I had wanted sth warm & creamy! Haha... my fave pasta is anything with creamy sauce. Perhaps next time then. The pasta was nt bad, but there were a lil hiccup here n there. Starting with the drinks the guys ordered. Soonhui & Pong ordered some lemon drink which tasted TOTALLY like lemons - very sour. eeks. Then Shuyi's pasta order was mixed up somehow by the waiter.

So.. our dinner ended very early, but our nite was so not over yet. Somehow I find myself in KBox @ Suntec City. Its the first time since the last where I just sat there and sing along, refusing to take the mike. Hahaha. When was that huh?! JC?

Ok la, I got sing ok! Pong they all even wanted to buy 4D/Toto lo. ok la, give you all 4 words. 1525! haha. The cost of my pasta (15) and the KBox session (25 - thks to 'subsidies' from pong & ler). Quite enjoyable.. but i am still nt used to KBox ok.. ha. We ended pretty late, walking to a bus stop somewhere ( I dunno where, it was dark & pong was leading e way) to take NR5 home. Woo.. its been so long since I was out so late. Reached home at 3+.

I wonder when will we hang out till so late agn?

how come it is already mid-week?! And the things that I was supposed to have done, wasn't even touched yet. Well.. today had a fast meeting at Pacific Coffee at City Hall there. There's lots of NTU pp there you know, so if you guys wanna get a gd seat there for an intensive, mind-draining meeting.. pls go earlier. 11am shld be fine *winks*

I guess I shld update abt my interview. How shld I say, I alrdy felt the jitters while preparing for it. On one hand I like to think since its 15 mins it'll only be a get-to-know-you session, but on the other hand I know that their stds are very high. So in e end, I ended up stressing myself way before I went in. The rest of my coursemates there were actually very nice. Everyone trying to make each other calm down & relax. And those who went in even selflessly shared the qns they were asked.

how shld I say, I am alrdy a person with not much confidence in myself. although I must admit I'm honoured that I was given a chance to be engaged in such stiff competition for a internship there. I wanted to go in, being myself and give it my best shot. Esp after TWF, I don't want to disappoint. BUT... I failed la, terribly to me.. cos I let myself get too stressed and tensed to answer the qns properly. Made the biggest mistake, there. Lost my mind, left my tongue at the door.

On a lighter note..

this pic was taken while we took a fun time exploring Muji at Marina Square today. The shop is so fun! like another classier Daiso which I rem we had spent 1-2 hrs at IMM during sec sch last time. We went there after our meeting and lunch. Accompanied Eric to do a little shopping and we ended up there. This pic was actually taken with our buys. The bottled drink is plum and apple juice! Its not as good as I thought it would be, but it felt good to be like.. all excited over this new thing you found. Felt like a little kid at the supermarket all over again. Going 'ooh' and 'aah' at all ur new discoveries. Haha!

The packet of snack I'm holding is sth recommended by 8 days. Cheese & cod cracker with black pepper. Pls go try it! Its very unique & tasty!

last nite was a one-of-a-kind experience. dinner at Meritius Mandarin, Orchard. in FULL formal wear. Its the last lesson of The Winning Formula and the topic is dining etiquette. Well, I'll not elaborate on my little disaster during my prep for e dinner that nearly made me late. Nearly late cos I took a cab from Buona Vista straight down and it saved me alot of time. But of cos, it also blow my pocket. Cos I took another cab ride in e morning for my acctg quiz. LOL. But I'm nt complaining.. Its money well-spent.

The food there was great, but I cannot say for myself that I had fully enjoyed the dinner. I think Prof Fock made a very relevant point that at least now we will not mind eating in Canteen B cos there, we do not have to worry how we place our fork and stuff. Haha.. good point!

Anyway, the prof was very nice to share with us his experience but i cant help but feel out of place. Cos the topic was on finance, banking sector and stuff. So most of the time I just nodded, smiled, or laughed at a joke. Or eat of cos. And the students there were all so outstanding that it makes me feel kinda small. LOL. Really.. double spec la, dean listers la.. And one of my classmate is flying to U.S end of this month for her internship. Another got hers at E&Y cos of her scholarship.

But still.. it was a meaningful nite. It was where the profs saw the fruit of their prog. The students who went thru the prog they fought for, and how they saw some of them transformed into another person. And the advice that they gave to us.. Particularly rem Prof Fock's ABC

A=Art Practise what we have learnt till its like an art to us.
B=Belief Believe in urself of cos!
C=Character Without this, even the best academic will fail.

I know they wont see it here but, thks to all e 3 profs for giving me a chance to go to TWF. I hope we can all prove that their hard work is worth it. Starting from my interview later? oops

This entire weekend is devoted to my accounting II quiz tml =_=" Hai. I still got 2.5 lectures of stuff to revise plus tutorial questions to go thru. And hopefully have some time left to practise some questions.

I'm afraid of the Excel quiz, honestly.. Cos there's only one hour for 2 questions. My god. And you still nd to bother abt stuff like spreadsheet DESIGN when I'm sure there's not even enough time to think abt the question. *slaps forehead* This is surely a speed test.

Oh well, dinner at Meritius Mandarin tml evening. You know, I'm not so sure I'm gg to enjoy it, cos I'll be wearing full formal for the dinner and its gonna be with some professors plus the consultants with TWF. Hai.. Long day tml.

Saturday, February 23, 2008

ytd met Eugene for dinner and he brought me to AMK to try the bak chor mee that he has been praising for quite some time..

It tasted quite good, I hope this pic captured that. Its actually quite a big serving.. and I like that the mee pok is cooked the right way. Springy and doesn't clump tog like what I've eaten elsewhere b4. Yummy! And the wanton soup is another separate order (:

I'm actually supposed.. to make use of the boost the coffee gave me to start on my acctg revision. But I was a bit distracted after doing some stuff for one of my projects. And.. caught in one of my moodswing. So not the time for it.. not when ur acctg quiz on Monday is 20%..

Thursday, February 21, 2008

how should I conclude this week. Not THAT busy, but somehow I still can't manage to find time for some things I would have liked to do. Like studying for my accounting quiz next Monday. Its like MCQs plus an Excel quiz. I don't wish to screw it up cos its a hefty 20% ok.

Monday was a long day. Tuesday found myself running around town in my heels. How many inches? 3 inches I think? I dun really know but it was enough to make my feet hurt the other day la. But at least we accomplished something for our BH227 project. Next up is the accounting project which is starting to make me nervous cos the submission deadline is 19 March and there's like no interview with our client company yet.

But I'm rather happy and motivated despite mainly feeling tired after a long day, not wanting to do much. Because I got shortlisted for an interview with STB! Yay! Competition is very strong of course, but at this stage I'll just give it my best shot, instead of getting myself intimidated by my 'competitors'. 'Competitors' cos out of the other 4 of them, I sort of know 3. So its like.. weird you know? You want them (esp Eric =D) to get the intern but then it means undermining your own chances. So yeah.. Dilemma somehow.

Monday will be a trying day...

Morning: Acct Quiz
Afternoon: Interview with STB
Evening: TWF Dinner at Meritius Mandarin.

Good luck to all going for internship interviews!

I keep forgetting if I've mentioned the professional imaging class that I'm currently attending. I think I did, but I cant really rem. Anyway, I went to my lesson today cos our trainer has some other training commitments so its sort of a reschedule.

today's lesson.. was conducted by the founder of ImageWorks Asia. I gotta really agree with Christina that their lesson is not just about appearance, actions and verbal aspects, but also the attitude. Its very much like a motivational seminar! I was already quite inspired by Cecilia, but Christina really has a way of talking and engaging us.

And how she told us we really got to have confidence in ourselves and believe in our own strengths for us to be able to stand out and convince the interviewer that.. we are the one they're looking for! Do you know that the questions like.. "Tell me more about yourself." is really not as simple we all think it is.. There is so much you can do with that question to really get the interviewer to know who you really are.

Nt just telling actually. She even showed us how to walk into the interview room, how to sit, how to greet, how to stand etc etc. Even how to smile and the 'right' facial expression that will make you look more 'open' so that you seem approachable and yet not too aloof.

And the sentence of the day?

Do not be afraid to fail, and it will give you courage.

my cousin was reading a storybook to the twins today while we were at my other cousin's place. as they sat and listened attentively (though by the glances they shot me I knew they couldn't understand - we all agreed the book was too wordy for them, but he still read it all the same.) to the story, I cant help but be reminded of myself more than 10 years ago. In the living room of our rented flat, I was struggling to read my first book Alice in Wonderland with this very same cousin.

I rem it was very stressful for me then, cos my english was damn lousy during my P1-P3. I didn't get to enjoy the joy the gals felt at someone reading them a story. Cousin was teaching me how to pronounce the words properly. page by page. word by word. till we finished the whole story and he'll fish out another one from the huge box of books and other stuff he brought over.

Of course I couldn't understand the importance of what he did then, neither did i appreciate it. But even till now, I am deeply grateful for what he did. As some of you may have heard this story before, I honestly owed what I have now to him. If it wasn't for his persistence in brushing up my english.. where would I be now?

I never dared to think the answer to that question. But while sitting at the couch with him just now, I couldn't say all this to him. Not with his daughter on his lap, or the twins sitting side by side me. I was afraid the tears would drop.. haha. cannot be so emo.. so, I say it here..

Thanks kor. You're more a father to me than a cousin, for that.. thank you.
the past 4 days has been very much family time for me, and tml will be the same. Ytd a big grp of 11 of us went to the new airport to walk walk and also *chuckle* show my aunt how to tk the train. Haha.. she cabs a lot, and given the present hikes she's thinking she shld find alternatives to her daily transport sometimes.
haha.. 11 pp is alot to travel tog. Esp when it consists of 2 maids with prams and a pair of korean twin sisters who have seemingly undepletable energy. was quality time spent with our relatives (: u seldom get to hang out tog like this, which is why.. I always try to convince my parents to stay in singapore during new year.

my mum is those type who is very afraid of crowds and big grps of people cos she finds them too rowdy and gives her headaches. As such, we're always mostly the first to leave a relative's house. Very kan chiong type, and very not my type, so sometimes.. there'll be disagreements btw us n her. ha. Just a few words exchanged, no worries.

today is lunch with the rest of the family at my cousin's place. Its actually his home office, he rents it for his work, and we've been going there since last yr. For a pot luck lunch and our usual ban luck session. haha.. its always fun to play with them cos u see alot of drama here and there =P just gotta observe and u'll know by the next new yr or so.. who will give black face when losing money... hahaha.

the younger half of the korean twins. the elder sis ran away, too engrossed with her game with another sis. haha.

the biscuits from hokkaido, which strangely got french words on it. Yummy!

took a much dreaded trip to msia to visit some of our paternal side relatives. I can tell you only our dad is enthu abt the trip la, although I know I shld think from his point of view that he seldom get to go home and see his brothers and nieces/nephews. But some of them really.. irk me. The way they treat their elders.. is very disappointing and saddening.

anyway, left house at like 630am and reach our first destination only at 1130+ cos there were no train tickets and we had to take a bus. And guess what? The bus was damn lousy and like halfway thru we heard sth snap, as in really 'snap!', while the bus was on e highway. And after that it went rickety-rack.. crawling slowly until it could no longer hold out and we changed a bus. The stupid ride made us tired and irritable long b4 we seen any of our relatives.

2nd aunt is her usual self, very hospitable though her house is among the humblest among the paternal relatives (but still, its a 2-storey semi-d). After a rushed lunch, we went to our granduncle and grandaunt's shophouse. My grandpa's brother & wife. Very retro 2nd-hand dealer shop. Was quite surprised to see they got a dog which isn't a stray. Very big and protective, till I decided I better not snap it =P

the row of motorbikes in the shophouse - some stuff they were selling. Granduncle is so cute, cos he's slightly deaf he couldn't hear my dad most of the times. And they had to tell him many things repeatedly by his ear. Ha, but he still drives a motorbike, cool huh!

Last stop was 1st uncle's house. Packed with his daughters who all wed and came home. They were also v hospitable, and keep asking us to eat this and that. One of our cousins also drove us to the train station where we took it home. Seeing uncle standing at the platform, and watching the train move off with us in it.. I cant help but feel a bit.. sad? He seemed to have aged. We did not see each other for very long, and the impression of him wasn't much until now. But still.. u can't help but feel.. wow, time flies. I was a little kid when they last saw me, and now my cousins can recognise my bro and not me. Since I looked so diff, they all forgot.. ha. even tot i'm e younger sis..

Well, I really dunno how am I to squeeze out time for my acct tut. Cos tml I'm meeting my aunts to go to the new airport tog at noon and we're to have dinner outside tog. Sunday is to meet at cousin's house for lunch and rounds of 'ban luck'.. tell me how to find more time..

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

Went for yingxiu's 21st on Sat after my Prof. Imaging Class. It was very rushed and all, and we were all hungry on the train. LoL. Its like the journey seemed to go on and on, but yet we never arrive at our destination.

Anyway, I think Sompong made a very valid statement - the first time we went to a 21st where the relatives > friends. Haha.. can see her family is a very close-knitted one. Cos almost every one calls her 'Xiu ah...', 'Xiu!'. Haha, got pet names for her de. And my face looks so shiny/oily in the first pic, eeks!

Last night had a sudden craving for western food, suggested to Eug that we go Botak Jones! Was a bit worried there'll be lots of pp and all, but luckily we still managed to find our seats and get our food in quite a reasonable amt of time.

What we did to entertain ourselves during the waiting. Hee. The custom made handphone pouches I bot at one of the bazaar stalls in NTU. I didn't know he took my fingers into the pic as well. Anyway, Eug's new phone is nice! His camera's quite gd, this was taken with it, clearer than mine. 3.2 megapixels. And here comes the main character of the day!

The Cajun Chicken at Botak Jones (Clementi). Hee.. the chicken is tender, but I would rather the fries and chicken not have this bitter aftertaste. Think its cos of the seasoning they use. But still.. very worth the $7.50 price tag, definitely a treat!

recently been busy over the networking night, and I'm so glad that its over now. Of cos, there are always two sides to everything. For the good.. I learnt that HR is so much more than I thought. So much more that I'm a bit worried I'm not able to handle it. Haha.. Jitters about my internship and first job so fast huh. And although the turnout was not what we had expected, the numbers are actually just fine for networking. Fine enough for mingling around. And I'm glad I told Prof Quazi abt how I feel abt our FastCat project. Tough, but definitely very practical learning experience.

The bad.. well. I was tired, shag from my day and I wasn't exactly in 'socializing mode'. So by the time it was for the 3rd and last rotation, I was just listening, spacing out =P and well.. sadly, disappointed by some of my seniors' attitude and way of handling things. Let's just say I feel some of us were taken for granted and could be treated better.

Enough of the networking stuff. I forgot if I've mentioned that lately I've been going for this Advanced Professional Imaging Class tt's been sponsored by the sch. I'm really glad I got called up for it and honestly it is very useful and I learnt alot. 6 modules of 4 hours lesson each. So far its only e 2nd lesson and it was so apt that ytd was the makeup class and I went straight to the networking in my makeup. It was a tad too heavy for me, the blusher. But Eric commented abt how my eyebrows made me looked nicer and Josephine looking more feminine. Woa, talk abt instant effects. haha.. gotta learn drawing my brows and eyeliner le! Before we go work that is..

frequency of posts will be lower as things eat up my time here and there, and sometimes I feel too lazy to blog. lol. There were times where I wanted to say sth here, made a mental note to, but when I on my com I alrdy lost all inspiration to write. The feeling's just not there anymore..

So when I was clearing my room and lots of memories were brought back, I told myself I shld blog. I will. And so here I am.. Spring cleaning never fails to make me nostalgic cos of the nick nacks I kept and other little stuff that will remind me of some people or events. Ha. Be it an old comb, a scribbled note etc.

And this time round I threw the whole stack of papers which i didn't last year. The stack of papers and notes from year one. Heck! Those are the rough papers. Sometimes u gotta be a bit hard-hearted when doing things.. if not, I wouldn't be able to see that desk top. Which I haven for quite a while cos of all my stacking =P

A bit lagging in my reading.. Had wanted to do it just nw, but ended up spring cleaning my room. Somehow I feel lazy.. Or maybe is the new year mood? (No... its an excuse, I know it. There!) I've been like playing games on www.viwawa.com its a real cute website.. and it makes me happy seeing the cute avatar. haha.. try it!

Saturday, January 26, 2008

well, can see from my previous post I'm already sick of my job. Not to worry, I'm not quitting just yet. I havent earn enough.. And I know, from living example around me, I am actually alrdy very xin fu. Endure, try to endure ok shuhui, CNY coming soon...

ytd was the long-awaited friday for both me and eugene. Cos both of us had a hard week. And was looking fwd to it for a break. Was actually hoping we can meet earlier la, and its all my fault. For gg to the hairdresser then and the queue was long. Not in the alot of pp sense, but the work to be done b4 me. The hairdresser was dying hair for 3 pp and I nd to wait for her lo. And I was so glad I wasn't like one of them, she was there since 12++ ok.. so means she waited for 6+ hours. OMG! The hairdresser la, she's a bit slow kind.. but i think its good esp when u do rebonding and dying hair with her. And some more, cos its new year that's why.. more pp..

And so, I cut my hair. to a shorter length. Cos my ends are too thinned out by one wrong move from a previous hairdresser. And since I wanted to go for a change, but not too drastic one (cos I still wan my long hair), I think I cut abt 5 inches of my locks. Ok la, I like the hairstyle.. just that cos I just cut, the ends at the side is a bit qiao, hope it'll grow out when my hair becomes longer.. if not I'll have to be stuck with a dilemma of to rebond or not. I don't wan to rebond when my hair is not the length I want! argh.. *cross fingers*

okies.. bought this shirt from na fang's shop blog. I've long wanted to buy a pair of shorts, white since it'll go with alot of clothes easily.. But still haven get it yet. Am trying to plan a trip to Bugis for it.. see how it goes. but boo.. she nv gimme discount ):

I hate the job.
But I like my colleagues.

I want to quit.
But I need the money.

I know I'll be much more relaxed if I don't do the job. Just quit.
But a promise is a promise. Since I committed to it, I shld stick to it.

But I hate the fact that its only WEEK 3 and my READINGS ARE PILING!
I dragged myself to work after sch.

Monday, it'll be damn sian to wait for wk to start. Wed it'll be damn rushed cos lessons finish late and I have less than 1/2 hr to eat. Sun I'll have to forego my evening time, which can usually be spent slowly reading a textbk after TV. at least its better than nothing.

I hate that from the tone of the person on the other end of the phone I know he's not going to donate ever, and yet I still have to make myself finish everything I nd to say. I hate that even if the person gave me shit attitude I still have to sound nice and polite and end off with a Thank You. Thanks for what?! For your shitty and rude attitude?!

'Oh. I don't need to consider.'

'Sorry Sir, what do you mean?'

'I don't want to donate my money'

'Do you recall receiving the 2007 Annual Giving..'

'Oh that one ah, I don't want to donate. Ok.'

I hate that I'm letting all this affect me though its just a stupid job that I do to bring in extra money.

Thursday, January 17, 2008

well.. my blog's been stagnant for quite a few days. Been wanting to blog abt Soonhui's 21st chalet but there wasn't much time. What with sch starting and my phonathon job, I don't have much time left for stuff like blogging.. Just spent resting or doing my tut and stuff. Argh.. These 2 days gotta use it fully to catch up. Full speed ahead!

anyway.. there's alot photos uploaded by weizhe, heow hui & pong.. So when I got the time, I'll start pulling some out and put them here.. and ya, I'm trying not to get too tempted by a top I saw online. Argh... its hard to resist temptation, esp when there's a sale!

My knight in white. hehe.. In his uniform, we actually weren't supposed to hold hands or anything, but Eug said nvm. So in the pic we seem like a shy couple who just got tog. Like don't dare to lean in too close or show the held hands. hahaha.. But I still love the pictures we took, his fren was nice to help us take 3 and told us to 'change pose'.

But what you cannot see, is the 2 squads of army boys clad in their clean white uniform beside us plus the MP vehicles and some MP ard. I honestly felt quite intimidated and a bit scared to walk in the alley beside Heerens to find him. Haha.. was afraid I'll be stopped by some MP and hauled away like some criminal cos there were the army guys there, and I stood out like such a sore thumb.

anyway, since Eug had things on tml morning and I was having a splitting headache (ever since I reached town) we had a simple dinner at the BK in Vivocity. Double Swiss Mushroom! Yummy
yummy! We were both so hungry lo, cos it was alrdy like 7+ close to 8 and we haven eaten anything. My stomach was so empty its got this weird feeling alrdy. haha, so the BK was v satisfying!
anyway, I met Minshan ytd for lunch at JP and we went ard to shop. Had so much fun with her. But saw this woman that made me utterly disgusted by her 'fashion sense'. She actually has quite a nice body. Tall and slim, 3/4 jeans and shoes that enhanced her nice legs. But she had to show her underwear. And if its like u wore a G-string or wad then u bend down n it showed, ok.. That is still 'passable', I can just look away. But this woman, had her whole panty band popping out, showing distinctively between her jeans n top. and I mean WHOLE because it was RED and said CALVIN KLEIN.
it was damn disgusting to me la.. I mean, as a girl, shouldn't you take more responsibility in making sure ur undies doesn't show. I don't care wad brand you're wearing underneath and I dont want to see it. Especially when it looks like u're wearing ur man's briefs cos that was what hers looked like. Its like those boxers guys wear and the band that show when their baggy pants sag. and she was with a bunch of guys.. Damn. I wonder wad's got into her.

Saturday, January 05, 2008

Night mode did not really work for us. And my head looked so big, lol. But its ok, its a start to our photo-taking. haha.. I bet the couple waiting for the parking space must be damn pissed. Hee.. we were abt to go when we tot we shld take a pic and there was this car waiting for our lot =P

anyway, Eug brought me to Maxwell Food Center (I'm not v sure if that's wad its called, but yeah.. Its Maxwell, quite near Lau Pa Sat) to have the porridge there. He was telling me how good is it, and the moment we stepped in the first stall I see is He Ji Zhou - a big stall with a queue. There were like abt 3 pp at the kitchen area cooking the porridge lo, you can imagine how busy it is if it were to be lunch hour. There's a wide variety of porridge there, and we order the Mixed Pork Porridge.

Here you go, the yummy porridge. Real smooth and a lot ingredients, which justifies the $3.50 they're charging it for. Pig's intestines, kidney, pork etc. Oh, only complain I had was that the intestines weren't handled properly, as in washed or seasoned properly, cos there's this icky porky smell to it. But other than that, everything was great. So maybe if u guys shld try this next time, req for no intestines then (:

So yep, the dessert.. heh heh. I think its Longan beancurd, though it tastes like jelly. But still.. not bad (:
Ytd was the last day of my attachment. The past few days our colleagues have been treating us very well cos they knew we're leaving. Well, not that they did not treat us well b4, just that they took the initiative to ask us to go out with them for lunch & letting us choose the place etc. Just Thurs they treated us to Billy Bombers at JP. I wished I had my cam phone with me, so I could take pictures of our food. I had sth called Surf and Turf, which was really nice. To my surprise (as well as my colleagues), I managed to finish everything eh. There was a steak (not the usual portion, damn big lo that one) and a fish fillet.. Steak was tender, fish was real good too.. oh, instead of fries I chose potato salad which made me real glad I did. Cos the salad was good, and my colleagues kept commenting on how 'balanced' my meal was. haha.. cos theirs are all fried or like ribs (gravy's got fat ma.. =P).
well.. 5 weeks there. Eric had said he regretted going there cos he might have had more meaningful ways of spending his hols. Yeah.. I agreed somehow, if I went back to Starhub, I could earn near 3x more. which will do me a lot of good given the financial security it would give me. haha.. I did not learn as much as I hoped to. Mainly did Excel stuff, and in e end the employee opinion survey had been pushed back 2-3 times till the deadline was 3 Jan. And since it was only one day for me to help them do the results, I couldn't do much. Pity the temp staff taking over me. I had tot that if I were to be given the time to help them churn out the results of the EOS, it would be a good achievement on my part. 2000+ responses and I'll have to like do the results for each SBU even.
But the exposure and friendly colleagues were a huge plus point la. Its like I was networking, career advice they gave were very good too. What we asked they would always give very good answers and sound advice.. (: But I don't think I'll be going back there for my PA, I hope to go into another industry, hopefully Tourism..

just read the last of my novels I borrowed. Well.. I had 7 in total from the 3 trips made to the library. But those written by Wendy Holden had sort of disappointed me. They were bestsellers but I had honestly preferred The Undomestic Goddess over any of those. There were a lot of dialogue and details which I felt were boring and doesn't contribute much to the plot. Ended up flipping my way thru' the pages till I found myself staring at The End. So yep, I had a total of 4 of Holden's book, but after 2 I went back to my Nora Roberts. Eve & Roarke were much more interesting to read.

Anyway.. last nite.. I gotta apologise to Shuyi, Soonhui & Heow Hui. It was quite silly on my part. Haha, being at home I had drank too fast, and too much wine (on an empty stomach =P) and so halfway trying to organize a last min chit chat session I felt whoozy and decided to call it a day. I rem Heow Hui telling me he'll call e rest and I just went to lie down on my bed. Still, I think in e end u guys never meet up rite? So sorry I spoilt everything!

First day of the year.. first person I met was.. Eugene. no surprise here ya, haha.. He came back ytd afternoon from Msia. And we met for lunch today. Simple affair, beef hor fun and Starbucks! There's so much people at Vivo lo.. I tot the crowds would be elsewhere since the countdown last nite was alrdy there. I was so wrong!

But anyway, had a good time just chilling out with him (: Last 3 days of work and then it'll be school starting all over again for me. I would also be doing that calling job.. which I totally find a bore but had to do it cos of the $$. ha.. Jan will be busy for him.. so let's jia you ya.. Looking fwd to friday, last day of work!

Monday, December 31, 2007

well, last day of the year.. Was reading Stomp's starblog and this week's entry is about the most memorable moments of 2007. What better way to end the year by reminicising some of the best/worst moments rite? (now who said memorable has to be good?)

So here we go, my 10 Most Memorable Events in 2007: (In no particular order, but of cos some will be more significant than the others.. hee.)

#1 GSS France/London
The last time I made my way out of Singapore further than Malaysia was in Sec 1 or Sec 2 when I went to Bangkok during CNY. Which was way back. Haha.. So this trip is actually very significant to me, my first ever to Europe, without my family and going with friends.. Of cos, during this trip there are many 'memorable moments', but rather than letting them take up my whole list.. Let's save it for other memories.. haha.

Ok, the ones most clearest in my mind are.. Our lessons and lunches in sch, Paris trip. Perhaps London will be most remembered, for the journey there was hard and long. But no matter wad.. I will always rem the English man who had helped me when I was the most helpless. Standing at the top of the bridge with my 20kg luggage and a flight of stairs ahead of me. I was damn afraid I would roll down the stairs. Just when I made the first few steps.. This hand from behind just took my luggage and a man made his way down in the blink of an eye. He walked away right after putting my luggage down at the bottom of the stairs, never even turning his head back. And I had to shout my thanks to him very loudly.. This act of kindness warmed my heart thoroughly after the rough journey. For that, thank you.. whoever you are (:

#2: Cousin's Wedding at Rasa Sentosa
The first wedding ever for a long time. Not many 'unmarried' cousins left other than me and my bro. Haha.. Always loved weddings for the happiness and joy that surround everyone present. Most of all.. its a chance to see all my relatives (maternal side, that is) besides the CNY. And dressed so differently! Of cos.. its my first time at a 5 star hotel.. =P

#3: Breakfast at Yacht Club
This was before me and Eugene started our r/s, but even before we did it was alrdy memorable. Haha.. nono, its not becos we are tog then now it is memorable. Its just that besides Soonhui, Sompong, Heow Hui, Thong Ler etc he is the only guy outside our NH clique that I can maintain a good platonic friendship with. And its quite amazing that most of our friendship before this has been sustained only from MSN, the phonecalls in sec sch ONLY and yet he can understand me easily like them. Yep, so the first 'gathering' (a bit weird to call it this since its usually used for a grp of pp isn't it, haha) was breakfast at Yacht Club. Needless to say, everything was good.. the weather, the food and everything and it paved the way..

#4: 19 April
Paved the way for the start of our r/s. I still rem clearly that day I was at JP meeting my uni frens to go sch tog and we were having one of our usual sms chats. So when he popped the qn I was like on the escalator and the first pp that knew were my uni friends cos they saw my wide smile and everything.. haha. I'm sure we'll have many more memorable moments to come in the coming year other than this.. Many memories are alrdy etched in me in the short 8-9 months so far. Thks for everyting dear dear..

#5: Primary school gathering at Pizza Hut/JP
this is memorable although there was another gathering earlier in the year becos I managed to meet Weili and Vicky properly for the first time since we grad.. Had a gd time catching up and chatting.. I'm very glad I still keep in touch with some of my pri sch mates cos I know some pp alrdy like lost contact with theirs long ago. So I really treasure whatever we have now.

#6: Dragonboat Freak Accident in Cambodia
Other than the fact that Wei Cheng had been a fellow saint, this incident had a huge impact on many Singaporeans becos 5 talented and passionate dragonboat rowers were lost so suddenly. It made me, and alot Singaporeans, learnt a lesson the hard way. Live your life to the fullest; live it your own way and treasure what and who you love most. Even till now I still visit the blogs dedicated to the 5 warriors occasionally to read thru the msgs. One day, I will no longer tear when reading them and will smile at the beautiful memories they left behind for the people who knew them.

Its really touching to see their friends drop by the blog frequently, to drop msgs to wish them Merry Xmas, update abt their own lives etc as if to chat and accompany them. Let's learn our lesson from now on shall we..

#7: Release of Results
Ok la, I know some people cannot understand why it is memorable (or maybe find that I am showing off) becos you all have been getting straight As all along until you numb to the feeling alrdy.. haha. But average students like me, who have been getting only a string of Bs ever since I gone uni.. This is very significant to me. Of cos, it'll serve as a motivation for me to work hard to maintain the results for the coming semesters (well, not much.. 3 more!). Yay shuhui.. you can do it!

#8: Wearing contact lenses
Indeed.. the initial hassle of wearing contact lens, the 'freedom' of no glasses.. From a love-hate relationship, I have alrdy grown to adjust and come to rely on it.. haha. Shall continue to take care of my eyes and contact lens in the coming 2008!

#9: Harry Potter's final book!
Yeah.. getting the final book. Sth that made me anticipated, and yet when I read it I cant bear for it to end and wanted to ask for more. I'm sure this is the same for many Potter fans like me out there! haha. This book is really good, although there were sad parts like the battle in Hogwarts which took the lives of many people.. I guess the good ending make up for it. Now.. is to look forward to the movie then.. (:

#10: Fireworks@ Vivo, 30th Nov
Now I rem the date even cos it was the last day of exam. And it being so memorable cos I didn't even plan to watch it, didn't even noe the first place.. haha. Last day of exams and went to Vivo for movie and lunch with Joyce, Lionel and Amy.. And was supposed to follow with meeting Eugene for dinner. Only when we were there then did we know, that Vivo City was celebrating its first year anniversary with a small concert and fireworks display the very same day at 9pm.

Sometimes, the most memorable event need not be purposefully planned. I guess this is life, cliche as it is, but really.. life is full of surprises and we do not noe know what will happen in the next second, minute, hour, even year.. This was what I felt when watching the fireworks right in front of me and Eug that nite. Fireworks - beautiful and short.

2007 will be gone in a few hours time.. hope that whatever 2007 had brought you guys this year, 2008 will be even better for all of u. You never know, you might find yourself a new girlfriend/boyfriend.. New friends of course.. but let's hope they'll be those good ones worth maintaining a friendship with. For the guys.. hope your new life, the next phase, which is uni will be a smooth transition for you.

Happy New Year everyone!

still not back yet. hai.

Friday, December 28, 2007

like always, I let myself worry about results of exams only the first few days after the last paper.. =P and so, last nite, though I had wanted to chk the results this morning.. I had found myself kp trying to login into Studentlink. To no avail.. Somehow cant get in, error and stuff. Well, the usual thing during this period.. The sch's site will go cranky.

so er.. not being like arrogant or fake or wad la.. but I really did a double take and double-checked my results when I saw it. Whoopee.. first thought was to send eug a sms after I settled down. Yeah.. Eugene's still in Msia *sniff sniff* of cos I miss him! But I'm glad he's got this holiday cum family visit cos I noe he's been longing to get out of S'pore.. haha. Well, he'll be back this Sun or coming Mon! (:

since Eug's not around and all the gathering and shopping trips has died down.. I decided to spend some quiet time catching up on my reading. Which is why, for the past few days since he's gone, I've made trips to e library after work to pick up some books. And I got some new bks I have been wanting to read. So.. I'll be devouring them the next few days.. hahaha. Youdian kept shaking his head whenever he see me read my book during free time.. =P asked me to go for real action and watch National Treasure and not the action in the books.. ha.

was telling eugene about this duck rice stall which me and my family discovered lately. Surprisingly its been right under our noses at the coffee shop opposite the Boon Lay Market, the newer food court at boon lay shopping center ya. Wa.. the duck rice is really good lo, one of the best I've had so far.

This is the picture I've managed to take b4 I almost finished half the rice. haha.. I told Eugene I'll take a pic for him to see cos I've been telling him abt how gd it is. But the moment the rice came I tucked in and almost forgotten I was supposed to take a pic! lucky all the ingredients are still there yet... =P The rice is very fragrant, I think its not yam rice.. but well, they did sth to it. Full of flavour. This is a set, with salted vegetables ( I don't usually eat them outside, but this is very appetizing when u eat with the rice) tau kua and half an egg. Yummy yummy! Not to mention the sambal chilli.. Everything for just $3.. haha. good deal eh? pls go try next time u all happen to pass by..

today work officially ends at 3pm, its a 'half-day' though it seemed more like a 3/4 one. but actually 12-2pm is our lunch la. The buffet is a bit disappointing in terms of proportion though. haha. just nice for everyone. And its after some colleagues chipped in and brought in food from their homes lo. Our VP was quite nice, bringing beautiful fruit tarts made by his wife. There was another guy whom was very friendly and we nv seen b4. A bit short but he was all smiles to everyone and chatted freely. Later Eric realised he seemed familiar.. and recognised his face from the company's notebook.. Our CEO. heh. Our top mgmt are all very friendly guys lo.. haha, interesting. No airs and very approachable. And our VP later even asked for our names again cos he said he forgotten to take it from us last time. He also asked for our surnames.. so weird. haha..

anyway.. here's a very very valuable photo of us 3. The guy on e left is Youdian, and the right is my classmate from NTU - Eric. Cameras are banned in the premises as u see.. so this was taken from an authorised camera and sent to us by our sup. So ma fan hor.. =P

After wk.. met Eugene. Our last date b4 he leaves for Msia on Wed. Supposed to have our fave xiao long bao, but Crystal Jade was damn full and the counter crew had such bad service. Suan le.. even then we still had to wait for abt 40 mins for our table at Pizza Hut. Oh well.. at least we had a decent dinner (: Watched I am Legend. Quite unexpected ending.. but the movie was not bad. Shall not post any spoilers, so those who like suspense/thriller movie can go give it a try!

Sunday, December 23, 2007

after coordinating for so long, we finally went to Cafe Cartel at PS for a dinner tog with the GSS peeps. haha, quite happy at the turnout.. 8! had a lot of fun catching up and chatting, laughing.. just like the days in France :D

Friday, December 21, 2007

had actually updated one entry de, but somehow got error, was too lazy to retype. =P

I was saying.. my Body Shop eye cream seemed to have worked. I wonder if it is really due to the cream. Or is it cos, due to wk, I've been slping b4 12am every nite. I would like to think its the cream, haha!

anyway.. this wk continues to be filled with gatherings and dinners. Ha. Next wk onwards will be more peaceful I think.. Not so much gatherings liao. hehe, easier on my pocket too =P

received my first xmas present today. well, I guess its sort of. Janey gave me a notebook today. ha. well.. still deciding whether shld buy some of 'em presents.. oh well.. PR comes with a price

had a super busy but eventful week.

Mon: Movie with Eug (Golden Compass!)
Wed: Dinner w Pris + Minshan (Swenson's)
Thurs: Dinner w Eugene
Fri: Pri sch gathering at JP/Pizza Hut
Sat: HRC meeting in town, shopping with Joyce (Thai Express)

Well.. from this u can see I ate out EVERYDAY except for tues. And can deduce that my pocket's got a big gaping hole. But I'm very happy that I got to see so many 'long-lost' friends all tog in this week. Pris who disappeared la.. And my pri sch frens, Weili - haven seen her in years!

That's why I'm sort of craving for some quiet time by myself at home, with a homecooked dinner. And repeatedly turned down Joyce's invitation to Settlers' Cafe with her.. ha. I owe you one la gal, I am actually a homey person too.. I'll miss home de.. haha.

So from all these meals, I am feeling fat again.. Those yummy but sinful meals.. The fats are added to all the wrong places.. Argh. And I am too lazy.. Or when I am feeling upbeat abt a new exercise regime.. sth pops up. Like my internship.. no swimming on weekdays.. Boo.

Tuesday, December 11, 2007

went joyce's blog and saw some photos we took tog in Marche the day we finished our exams. haha. every time see photos of myself, I will have this 'sudden realization' that my hair so long meh?! then it'll also remind me of how time flies.. Cos only after I grad from SA then started to kp my hair long.. And its been like almost 2 yrs.. whew! yo joyce, hope ur intern is better for u now.. (: see ya this sat at our HRC meeting.. maybe we go shopping aft that like last time ya.. haha!

here's some of the websites I said I will be recommending after I go browse thru' them..

1. http://www.waiterrant.net/
This is the blog of a waiter in USA. He relates what he sees in the restaurant to some of his thoughts about those issues. Quite meaningful reads.. And his blog receive a lot of hits daily. (: something which we don't usually come across..

2. http://www.weikiat.net/slops
This website recommends shopping blogs (called slops), so if you're interested in online shopping, or just wanna update urself on some fashion trends.. can go visit the slops recommended..

enjoy!

so far, my internship has been turning out great! ytd the office was very much livelier due to the TGIF mood. Me & Eric also started being chummy with the other guy who's a temp and my age. Poly grad awaiting enlistment into NS, and he's been outwardly showing his detestment abt it. LOL.

anyway, Eug & me went to our usual hangout - Vivo. With a purpose this time though, to check out the products in body shop. Cos my classmate is able to get a whopping staff discount of 50%! I'm gg to shop till I drop (which also means shop till my account balance takes a big fat drop) & buy some skincare products. Yippee..

Gonna hit the PS outlet later. Hope everything I want is in stock then! (:

Thursday, December 06, 2007

either cos its already my 4th day at work, or its cos I'm lucky today that there wasn't much work for me to do. so its not as busy.. My asst. manager (the person I'm reporting to) seems to be always too busy to give me some work to do. Lucky me that I'm sitting beside a young & friendly lady who is closest to us in terms of age. Both the guys already noted that there is a significant age gap in the rest of the peeps there as compared to us, and attributed the lack of conversation topics to this reason as well. lolx.

anyway, Janey was very kind to lend me some of her magazines to read cos my id doesn't have Internet access and my a.mgr STILL hasn't give me any work. She had gotten those HRM magazines from a Jobcentral Fair, and also some Careers Central magazine. The latter is seemingly familiar cos I think our sch gives out some free copies at the General Office. I never thought much of them till today. And no, its not cos I was bored to tears and too glad to have some entertainment. Those mags are very informative. HRM mags are abt some HR trends which are very relevant to what I'm studying and its a bit regretted that I didn't get to read them b4 the exams.

The Careers Central mags are very useful to us undergrads. They have alot of advice on issues regarding job seeking, interview skills, etc etc. And I saw this article on cover letter & resume writing which I went to photocopy. A gd reminder when the time comes for me to worry over them. But what caught my eye was an advertisement abt the STB Management Trainee Scheme. Its like a DREAM COME TRUE. haha. Its a 12-mths program for fresh grads. And they open it to grads with any type of degree but at least a 2nd upper class honours. Right now this seems a bit daunting.. but the article really gave me some hope la.. The program seems very enriching. And some even get to travel during the 12-mths period. Sth worth working towards to!

Oh ya, I also copied down some interesting webbies recommended by the mag. I'll check them out and recommend them to u guys if they gd (:

Friday's coming, woo!

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

had been very busy since this mon cos its the start of my holiday intern. well.. I cant bring in my camera phone, so these few days brought some inconveniences (& not to mention the occasional boredom) cos there's no phone with me. the security part is a bit of a hassle, but totally understandable.

And its actually a gd experience la. Learn alot excel stuff since the start till now. And I happen to be doing the internship with one of my classmates from my comms class! Eric.. quite glad got him ard for company. But the pp in the office, so far quite nice to wk with (:

These few nites I've been slping very early, max 11.. cos I gotta wake up early in the morning. Walk to wk! haha.. oh well. I dunno wad to blog le.. Tired. Wet & cold days like this makes me wanna drink coffee..

Saturday, December 01, 2007

my last paper was finally over ytd. woohoo!

Went down to vivo with lionel & joyce to meet amy. We were so starved after the paper, lol. The train journey seemed so long & we kept thinking abt wad to eat. anyway, we settled for Marche. Long time since i went there. It was at the suntec one, so you can gauge how friggin' long it is (since its alrdy closed down. ha). We watched Beowulf. Hmm.. it was ok.. all animated, and I was a bit surprised cos i tot only Angelina Jolie was animated.

After that, caught dinner with Eugene at the Delifrance in Harbourfront. Guess what we had there? haha... Pizza! Well, we actually wanted to go there for the steaks, which we had there last time and it was pretty good. Comes in a set & the price was reasonable. Apparently its an offer, so its not on the menu anymore.. Thus, pizza as we both weren't really hungry. Hmm.. its not bad. We had the Tropicana pizza, which was sth like Hawaiian pizza, but its turkey ham instead. And its verrryy... cheesy! Yummy..

Oh, not to mention the fireworks display! I guess life has a lot of surprises here n there.. we went there wanting to spend a gd time after our last paper, and it happens that its their 1st anniversary. So they'll be having this 6-min fireworks display at nite. Eug & me caught it in quite a gd view, right in front of it, out on the deck. There were so many people there.. even the peeps in the restaurant came out to watch after hearing the bangs from the display.

short but pretty! gd end to a day like this.

I wish I can say I'll be happily slacking my 5 weeks away, but its not my zhuo feng. haha. I cannot stay idle so long, I will get bored to death.. Joyce & I had tried our shot at getting an internship this 5 wks and we each got one. Mine is at ST Kinetics which is like a stone's throw away from my hse. haha.. I'll definitely be walking home aft work!

So, this weekend will be spent slacking. Packing my messy room. And I dunno.. get a book? watch some drama online? :P

Wednesday, November 28, 2007

we all know, life is fragile. But I guess we never thought reality'll struck so close. We're so young, so are our friends. This few days its hard not to read or listen to the news without tearing up (i admit, and crying :P). Cos its not hard to imagine if it had happened to someone closer to you... The agony of the loss.. All 5 were so young & promising. And they will be dearly missed by their families & friends.

Been reading thru msgs left on blogs dedicated to two of the victims, and among them are many msgs with content similar to 'I wish I had known you better.'

How many times have such thoughts crossed our minds b4? I guess sometimes we learn the hard way, to appreciate everyone around you. Tragedy strucks and it jolts us back to reality - life is fragile.

Condolences to the family & friends of our 5 national rowers... You must be proud to have crossed paths with these good, young men. Let's hope they find peace in the skies above, rest well...

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Rest in Peace
Chee Wei Cheng
Jeremy Goh
Stephen Loh
Poh Boon San
Reuben Kee En Rui
may our rowers rest in peace

Monday, November 26, 2007

I hate it when I have too many days between the papers.. 5 days is the max I can take. but 9?! no way! especially when people have alrdy finished their papers during this period of 9 days.. argh. my 'productivity' is seriously declining. Cut by half ytd. ha. only did 2 chapters..

oh well.. I can only do my best today and the next few days to come! I've been cooped up at home the whole weekend.. alternating between book & tv. (and occasionally my hula hoop, yeah.. my new past time) finally going out for lunch w eugene later!

our Fastcat project got us an A.. quite relieved abt that, cos it takes up a whooping 40%.. with the individual component factored in, I'm sure joyce & me will get the grade pulled up again since we both contributed so much for that.. hopefully it'll help! 223 papers seems tough.. from the look of the past year exams..

oh yeah, I've been stomping lately.. its quite addictive u know.. and some topics there are interesting.. haha. maybe u guys can go take a look when u're bored or sth.. cheers!

Friday, November 23, 2007

I'm addicted to STOMP. Too addicted!

Thursday, November 22, 2007

ytd's paper.. was honestly not hard, was more of the time management & planning. Tho a qn or two shocked me.. ha. Oh well, like wad kor say "if want to worry abt it, worry after the last paper." ha! How 'optimistic' is that? lol.

anyway, Eugene's clearing his leave, so we have plenty of time tog nowadays. After buffet on Mon, we planned for a movie ytd. Well, Hero was supposed to have sneak preview ytd but none of the cinema had timings for that. Only for 22nd, which is today. bah! One of the cinema website even put heroes under "Now Showing" but when u click the schedule it shows timing for 22nd, and not 21st. Well, well.. I guess there's a new meaning to 'now' is it..

So, we watched the next show on our 'to-watch' list. Enchanted! haha.. quote from eugene: its a happy movie. Seriously.. the ending, and the characters.. Giselle (the princess from the fairytale land) is very bubbly and the things she says & does are so funny sometimes.. And how she sings kept getting onto Robert's (the lawyer in real-life New York) nerves at first. I shall not post spoilers here, but pls go and watch if you're looking for some laughter and a nice plot! And there's a bit of singing here and there, tho of cos not as much as Hairspray or High School Musical.

Had a good time, walked out of the theater feeling slightly 'enchanted' and motivated.. haha.. will there be a happily ever after?

next up on our list is.. Hero, Golden Compass.. :D

Tuesday, November 20, 2007

ytd was our 7th month tog :D so fast! haha.. so we met for some buffet lunch at Nihon Mura.. Eh. I dunno if i spelt that wrongly.. but its the buffet at the new Sports & Recreation Center. hehe.. die le, its my 2nd time eating in less than a month =P but really enjoyed it.. hehe

anyway.. me & Eug embarking on Project Shed the Fats.. haha.. gotta exercise to lose those fats! Tml's my paper.. but I'm going out again.. for this interview at the agency lo, a bit sian.. all the way in Ngee Ann City.. Just for '5-10 mins to know what you would like on the job'.. =_= I hate interviews!

Oh.. After tml's paper we're gonna watch Hero! The jap movie.. haha.. I know, I know, exams not over yet, don worry.. I'll rem!

Friday, November 16, 2007

cleared 2 papers ytd.. but din feel good abt it. I guess its those feelings that you have once u finished a paper, if u feel confident it means you had either successfully 'spotted' some qns or u studied real hard for it and could ans everything..

of cos I did study, but didn't do my best ): careless mistakes in the MCQ here n there.. for the efforts we put in, we are often aiming for sth with an A ( be it A-, A or A+, it'll all push up ur GPA).. just got this feeling... cannot make it... hai. Just hope for the best... still got 2 more core papers to study for...

anyway, today I gave myself some time off and slacked. Found sth I'd really like to pick up again this hols. Making earrings! Last time tried to do but gave up halfway due to some reasons.. But while searching online, I saw some beautiful pieces created by some people.. Can't help but save the pics, haha.. Can refer to them while buying materials next time, make sth similar.. so pretty!

Wednesday, November 14, 2007

this is it... tml's the start of my exams! Still juggling between my forensic science & psychology... hai. I seriously know this gonna affect my grades in one way or another - cos there's so much to internalise for TWO papers...

tml my paper's at 1pm. And everything will end up 7pm... although there's like a 1.5 hr break in between... bt its not enuff! din had a good slp last nite... and got waken up by the heavy rain like 5+. haha... my dream was a jumble of nonsensical stuff, lol. And some sort of a nightmare.

the worse thing is, to keep myself going.. I kp eating lil' snacks here and there. Argh... fattening!

Sunday, November 11, 2007

Been studying psychology the whole weekend on top of clearing the last bits of my project. Initially was quite glad I cleared writing up my notes for all the chapters after mid-term... (which are more impt cos it'll be 90% of the stuff tested in the final exams) BUT... (yes yes, the always-dreaded word...) after doing some exercises... crossword puzzles... I realised I forgotten the stuff in front... ARGH! the more I do, the more I flip the textbook, the more I FREAK OUT!

(now according to Lazarus's Cognitive Appraisal Approach... this is because I have classified the impending exam as A THREAT & I estimated that I don't have enuff TIME to study everything... => Now do you get how stressed is this? )

Argh... I hate this... Psychology is actually the easiest to study so far, in terms of how easy it is to read each chapter and identify with the concepts and theories mentioned... Totally enjoyed it. But when it becomes an exam and you need to compress everything in time to sit for the paper... Its a totally different thing...

Okok, now I'm trying to de-stress... Cos I know I can't study properly being so tensed anyway. Now listening to soundtracks from High School Musical cos they're so infectious with the dances and the catchy tunes... Woo! Turning it up max to destress... So on a lighter note, what I learnt after revising Stress & Health today...

'Stoning' is actually good for your health!
It is actually a form of meditation... yes, you read it right, meditation! I was equally surprised haha... there is actually a form of meditation that involves a person concentrating on an unchanging stimulus to relax & calm down. Just 20 mins of 'stoning' or staring into blank space can lower blood pressure & calm you down... hahaha!

just came back from what we call a 'quality' breakfast date with eug at west coast park. The beach's opened up! but can no longer walk along the sandy areas, its now like those reservoirs with tracks to cycle, walk along... ha. A good break away from books & our last project (thank god, this one is much easier to handle)... Big breakfast (yummy!) and a walk by the beach... haha, thks (: now gotta chiong, really chiong.. I realised time is running short... still got a lot to cover!

Sternberg's Triangular Theory of Love

Love has 3 components mainly intimacy (sense of close emotional ties), passion (physical aspect of love but not just s** =P) & commitment (decisions one makes about a r/s)

A love r/s can involve one, two or all 3 components, and hence gives rise to the 7 different kinds of love.

Liking: intimacy only
Companionate Love: intimacy + commitment (the kind that brings pp thru' the yrs of marriage)
Empty Love: commitment only (sad case )= )
Fatuous Love: passion + commitment
Infatuation: passion only
Romantic Love: intimacy + passion
Consummate Love: intimacy + passion + commitment (ultimate goal for many =P )

So... which love are u experiencing now? Revising for psychology, though a long process... is often quite enriching... You absently go "Oh.." and "Ic.." in your head when u read things like this (:

well... weekends. usually its 'yay!'. but now its 'argh...'. Exams are about one week away.. I still have another project on my tray. The interview's tml but 3 of us cant go.. I seriously hope this time it will turn out fine, though only 2 of us can go.. and nothing crops up last min to jeopardise our plans (like last time, puis.)

been trying to mug, make myself revise psychology. But I guess I'm still pretty reluctant. Hey! We just finished a damn big project, shldn't we have some time to relax, slack & enjoy?! No. Cos I gotta remind myself again, exams are in a week's time. ARGH!

Only finished one chapter and starting on another. Cos the chapter's long, and it doesn't help that I cant sit down properly to type out the notes cos I'm like, constantly distracted by the tv.. or my bed. or some snacks. or.. well, see? u get it..

Finally, finally... The end of the FastCat project

We've all been like counting down to today, cos even though ytd was the presentation, today's the submission of the report - the real end of our project. this project has been very very time consuming.. and the 2 seniors in our group which took it as an elective actually very bo hua la..

Now very tired, cos last nite slp like 2+ and woke up early to help with the report.. But ytd we took 3 hrs off to have buffet at the new Sports & Recreation center in jurong extension there. Haha.. guys, its so cheap! $14.50 only for students.. adults $16.50.. 2.30-530pm. Then still includes drinks free flow + 1 juice lo.. sushi and a lot side orders...

Quite fun.. chatting & trying some new food.. Then when we play zhong ji mi ma, I was lucky enuff not to kena at all.. Wahaha..

Anyway.. Here's Team Cattatooee.. No matter wad, I enjoyed the project with u all though it was so time-consuming.. At least during stressful and frustrating times there were silly jokes and stuff (:

if you realised I stopped updating my blog after last wed cos from thurs onwards I was caught in a whirlwind of projects & presentation stuff. Now thinking back, I am proud that I endured the weekend! =D

Thurs & Friday was the nightmare. My proj mates met late Thurs night to do their parts of the proj in e hall. So I had to stay up n wait for them to settle down b4 I call them to update them on e proj. Then we just worked n worked, discuss a lil on MSN, call a while. All the way until 3+ when I couldn't tahan anymore. Cos we're meeting the next morning at like 10am to study for a quiz tog! They worked even harder till like 4+.. *faint*

So next morning, as expected the timing got postponed. haha, I can understand la, if it was not for the 2 damn calls early in e morning that woke me up it would be difficult to drag me out of bed. So I was there a bit early and 'chopped' some seats at the FAL. Argh.. we finished at almost 8pm that night!! The project is really time-consuming..

Sat my body protested to the past 2 days of work, little slp & loss of appetite (& of cos my hair loss )= ). Honestly, I don rem having worked so much for a project in Year 1 b4. I must remind myself that I am in year 2 now, and things are very different! I dunno whether would it be more accurate to say these are the symptoms of stress or being overworked. Becos both are equally likely. I felt very tired and couldn't work for more than 2 hrs on e com. had to like take breaks in between. Popped Panadol cold to keep that dreaded cold from coming, cos i saw e symptoms too. Mum kept asking me to drink chicken essence cos she could see how pale I was. And dizzy spells..

Sun I decided to take things easier! yeah, I devoted the whole day to rest and just preparing or my final presentation on Mon. haha.. I can't afford to fall sick now, so gotta really give myself a gd break. Thks ah pa, for meeting me to help with my excel. And giving me the chance to come out & relax for a while! =D Felt so much better after a walk at JP.

So now.. 2 more hurdles.. Then its the exams.. after thurs gotta find time to start revising for my electives - first 2 papers..

had a looong... day. Damn shag now.. Morning was rather boring with the 214 lesson. We were let off early.. We sort of like drew lots by throwing dice to see who gonna present on Monday and Wednesday and the order. You might think how becos now I'm gg to tell u there's 19 pp in e class =P she got so many different dice. 20 sided even, interesting eh? She use it once in a while.. haha. anyway, I gotta present on Mon, chop chop finish it i guess. once and for all... and I come right after Joyce, so qiao!

Oh ya, got this weird thing happen. When the die came to our table, and FOUR of us threw it like once each... it kept coming up with the no. 6 and 9! So creepy!! no matter who throw also like that..

anyway, I now feel more secure abt our FastCat. Its like, more on the tracks now. Phase 3 is not that bad.. =P just that friday gotta chiong again.. today we met at like 4 plus n finished at ard 8 lo... shiong!! now totally spacing out, just waiting for my grpmate to bath finish then i can call her to tell her her wk... arh... hope i don fall aslp!

projects & deadlines... its sth that everyone of us are trying to complete & meet the targeted deadline. Right now I see myself as still far from it... I don't dare to think abt it actually... as the days fly past... my other project is still in e 'sapling' stage, thurs then will we get to conduct the interview. I seriously pray things will go on well from there.

now every night is devoted to either editing or doing intensive research to complete my write-up on a certain part of the projects... Argh... when can I sit down & revise properly?! My 1st papers are on 15th and our last project is due on 12th... Cannot screw up those elective papers!!

alright.. enuff of pouring out my complaints, I'm tired.. need my slp so tml can carry on..

Monday, October 22, 2007

Sat night we had dropped by kor's hse to visit him.. His mum is so hospitable.. haha, kp asking us to eat things etc. I'm glad that wound of his has closed up, imagine my shock and horror to discover he had applied ZAMBUK on it! argh... u're so lucky no infection... =P

anyway, as usual when we visit him, we watched tv tog... chatting etc... we left ard like 10+, with SX sending TL home... on e way back Sompong suggested we go Macs. I was actually thinking of continuing with my wk since we ended early.. But ah.. who cares?! I'm gonna slog my guts out on Sun anyway, the few hrs doesn't matter.. (ok, I was tempted to cont after gg home, but they talked me out of it hehe, I'm shag too)

Enjoyed the chat with you guys (: I'm sure we could have stayed there like even longer if we din have to care abt wk or last buses. haha.. puis, talk abt last bus. We had to walk to my bus stop, and lucky for heow hui he managed to board a 99. Or he'll have to walk home from JP for 2 consecutive nights. Its a long story..

Saturday, October 20, 2007

today is our 6th (:

in short, today is a happy day! haha... well, cos no books and alot shopping, wahaha. I know this isn't wad we're supposed to do now, given that exams are less than a mth away, projects are being due. BUT WE NEED A BREAK FROM IT!

started the day with meeting dear joyce for lunch at PS. We walked around, nt knowing wad to eat. Settled on pastamania but we got sick of the creamy chicken pasta after a while. 1pm was our 1st meeting with the other seniors in the main comm. haven met the rest b4.. esp the project managers. well, its good to know who you'll be working with next time. =P all of them seemed nice peeps!

after like 2 hrs it ended, wasn't much, just a short meeting, a lil discussion. so me n joyce went to start the real thing - SHOPPING! at Far East. haha.. haven been shopping there for quite a while. Some shops are not there anymore, quite a lot of stuff to see as usual. haha.. it was nice looking ard for nice, pretty things.. instead of: books, laptops, notes.. GRR. anyway.. I finally bought a bag! It was more expensive than my current one, but I guess its worth it.. cos it doesn't look like another buy from Bugis.. heh. If you get wad I mean, nowadays alot stuff have so many 'duplicates' on e streets. shoes, shirts, bags etc.

and I finally got earrings. wahaha. my old stud ones have sadly got lost. I'm left with one stud each for like 2 or 3 pairs.. anyway, we covered a lot ground, combed a lot shops. I enjoyed myself a lot... haha, thks for the company gal! Oh ya, saw this damn cute dog at one of the shops. couldn't help but tell the auntie that.. but its her fren's, not hers. the puppy is dunno wad breed.. hmm. maybe some poodle mix, cos its got those signature curly hair.

next was to wait for eugene to come to PS. Well, fri nites sure got jam and some more he got off wk late.. so yep.. I kept walking and walking level by level to wait lo. I think after too long a break from shopping.. my legs lost their stamina =P was seeing alot pp in this scrapbook shop n decided to go in n take a look. its quite an interesting shop, seeing how bits and pieces of paper, knick-knacks, buttons etc can be put into place to tell a story of their own. Saw this paper abt a boy.. being impatient on the car, asking 'how long? how far?' and a happy, proud father (not to mention, gd looking and looking nth like a father of two) holding his two boys like trophies in his arms, side by side.

and amazingly, there's a cafe inside.. its really a good idea, and its small, but cosy. with some people drinking coffee and eating some cake or pastry. That was when I saw those cute little cupcakes.. haha, so nice! laid out in a row in e display cupboard (: couldn't resist buying it. just had to.. esp since today was our 6th (:

I've been having two nites of bad quality slp since monday.. cos of the stupid fastcat project. Try changing figures, entering them in the software, calculating a recommended base pay. Over and over again.. for TWO consecutive nights. See if you'll slp well when those numbers keep floating in your mind when ur eyes closed for a well-deserved slp...

Argh... I kp changing them to get the targeted percentages.. Till I think I stressed myself till I was too wound up to slp properly. I am glad I finally adjusted those values to wad is considered ok for our tutor. My god... I've nv tried editing sth for so long b4...

As usual as the end of term draws nearer, so do deadlines. But after a meeting today, I feel slightly better abt my 226 project. The only prob is the interview, though alrdy granted to us, has not been fixed a day for it yet. "Possibly early next week" How definitive is that... I seriously hope nth happens last minute. We're counting on the interview and alrdy did so much background research & preparation! *cross fingers*

My list of deadlines is soo... long. Group work. Individual work. Projects, reports, presentations and the what-nots. I look forward to striking them off one by one...

Sunday, October 14, 2007

whole weekend I was stuck at home... with my lappie, textbk, tv & miniclip games. I am still not determined enough to mug! dunno why when I sit down to type the notes I'll tire out and end up restless so easily =P but psychology.. though interesting the chapters are damn long..

and typing notes on my laptop gives me so much distraction. haha! I'm just not focused enuff.. read blogs, play games, watch tv.. grr.. exam's in like a mth's time.. I shld be feeling the jitters shldn't I?

Saturday, October 13, 2007

now i really know wad army guys do when they are inside their bunk, bored and trying to entertain themselves. Eugene's officer frens(from his prev camp) shot a video of him and themselves in e bunk. Making him play his guitar and 'dedicate' the song to me... haha... So sweet! Though they would see it here, but thks guys, and thks dear (: help me tell them ba...

ytd finally went for the Suki Sushi Buffet after my dental appt. I've been looking fwd to it all week cos so long haven went for sushi buffet liao! And when i was lying on the chair in e dental clinic earlier, it was wad I was thinking abt to distract myself. Distract myself from the damn drilling sound and that thing going at my front teeth making me that sickly feeling in my tooth... ARGH! was filling my front tooth la... now its like any other tooth, white white liao. haha..

ytd I met this inconsiderate woman in the ladies at AH. She was talking on e phone inside the toilet. And I think she's there for damn long alrdy... Cos the woman in front of me was shaking her head and sighing incessantly at the ill-mannered woman inside. Cant u finish your business and get yourself out of there, find a nicer place to chat with your friend? I don't have to hear you teaching someone how to cook chicken soup and brag abt your trip to Japan IN THE TOILET! my god la... and she was talking in a mixture of canto and English... argh... She is lucky she nv came out even when I was abt to leave... I would shoot her my dirtiest look fit for a woman behaving like this.

Assure parents that...

Ensure that...

Improve on plans... (Not improvise on plans)

No more 'erm'... presentation over, hmm... dunno how i fare leh. The tutor gave me feedback which I thought is minor but I dunno how 'minor' is it to her... Feel insecure abt how I have done so far... After all, it is 4 AUs and takes up quite some considerable percentage in this sem's GPA... Grr...
having a presentation later abt childcare service providers. I never knew they are so 'advanced' now, its like they haven evolutionised. Or maybe its just my grp's center, wahaha... Its too good! =P

I wonder if its cos of my nap in e afternoon, or cos of the presentation jitters... I couldn't slp properly last nite. haha... I just can't feeling nervous over the presentation although this time is much easier than the last time. The topic's more interesting, rather. I even had a nightmare abt the presentation!!! That our teacher didn't like it... omg. haha...

Oh well. I can catch my slp later, today only 2 hrs of lesson - which is the presentation class. Cos my forensics got e-learning lecture... Maybe I can go for my facial? hmm...

Sunday, October 07, 2007

well, except for the fact that I had a brain-draining project meeting on Fri... I had a great weekend so far... had dinner at IMM with eugene and brought him to buy his present at City Chain. Ha, timing is just right that the watch I bought for him in London is breaking down and his bday is near... So yep. Glad we could find one that fit into my budget and he liked... =P

I was quite determined after i finished my project meeting not to do anything until after the BBQ ytd... and I really did it. wahaha. Too much project work and staying up during the week... gotta give myself a break or I'll be killed by the stupid FastCat. Minshan and I made a deal today abt planning our timetable next sem so we can do project tog. Haha... She was real great help when I was doing my project today. I owe her a lot, a big big favour!

Ytd was sompong's BBQ. Actually... I am touched that he took so much effort to invite us and organise the BBQ everything... Cos its not easy to coordinate everything! And usually this kind of bday thingy is organised by us for the bday boy/gal one. hahaha... Plus there are so much things to take care of and things like the weather... you can't control and makes it so unpredictable. Guess we can say its lucky that it did not spoil our BBQ much. Just shifting here n there... (:

During the afternoon, me, shuyi, pong and HH were just chatting and sitting ard... after we bought the groceries. waiting for thong ler to turn up, at the same time we also watched a lot of amazing youtube videos. Crissangel la... And the damn good japanese guy... and the MTV which really baffled me. hahaha. Thks for that afternoon peeps, was real gd start to the BBQ!

By the time BBQ start, all the project stuff were thrown to the back of my mind liao. Real thankful to see yan and her bf, thongler & weizhe who were the most 'faithful ones' by the pit... helped a lot with BBQing while the rest of us mostly mingled and ate. hahaha... And it was the first time Eugene joined us... Glad we could all mix around well and not much 'leng chang'! Chatting, eating and of cos drinking! Its the first time I drank so much since I came back from France... haha. Brought back memories of the trip again... =P

In short, last night was simply great guys... thks for making my day (: one regret though is kor cannot join us! looking fwd to photos from pong!

Friday, October 05, 2007

back to more project meetings... just had one ytd and another one's at 1pm back in sch... 214 meeting is one that I always enjoy. No matter what assignment. Cos my grp's fun and everyone contributes ideas & is spontaneous... Ytd had a lot of laughs while in the reading room during the meeting. This week somehow we had alot of silly jokes surfacing. I think its cos Mon's lesson was too bored and we decided to entertain ourselves =P

later... FastCat project. I seriously hope its only me who did the data entry or dunno how to use the software cos I forgotten where I put my booklet. Cos the values are supposed to change so we can record the difference once I changed some input value, but it DIDN'T! tried so many times it just didn't wk... gee... tell me its only me. only cos I'm a IT-idiot...

Wednesday, October 03, 2007

spent the whole of last night and my evening just now trying to find just ONE STATISTIC from databases and news articles... I dunno is it me who's too picky or wad la. haha... anyway, I think I've got what we need so yep. But honestly... when trying to do the FastCat phase 2 report... I really hope its cos I am doing by myself and hasn't discussed with the rest of the group yet. I am suddenly stressed by the stupid project... ARGH!

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

2nd day of school. hmm... I guess the good thing abt having a good break is that it gives u a good charge up for the next 6-7 wks ahead. Which brings me to the bad thing... it feels too good for u to want to go back to sch... Just ytd I was alrdy making mental checklists of 'to-dos' and 'coming ups' through out the day. Presentations, report deadlines, and what-nots. ha. Right now its still manageable. Let's hope it stays that way...

anyway... got quite a surprise when sompong smsed to invite us to a BBQ this sat. haha... never quite expected that from him. But really appreciate it as a good opportunity for a gathering. Kor, will you be ok to walk out by then huh? maybe we can arrange some form of transport for you =P

oh ya. quite surprised by her sms today. saw it during my class. and she apologised again for hurting me so carelessly. actually, I more or less got over it liao. she said hope we wont end up ignoring each other or wad. but when we see each other after classes end (we'll always meet in the corridor cos I'll be heading out and she'll be waiting for her class) it was a bit awkward. hmm... I just nd time to 'adjust' cos I cant pretend nth happen ya. and she seemed too engrossed in e mag she was reading to hear me calling her. anyway... leave that for now... I'll see her again anyway
