how come it is already mid-week?! And the things that I was supposed to have done, wasn't even touched yet. Well.. today had a fast meeting at Pacific Coffee at City Hall there. There's lots of NTU pp there you know, so if you guys wanna get a gd seat there for an intensive, mind-draining meeting.. pls go earlier. 11am shld be fine *winks*

I guess I shld update abt my interview. How shld I say, I alrdy felt the jitters while preparing for it. On one hand I like to think since its 15 mins it'll only be a get-to-know-you session, but on the other hand I know that their stds are very high. So in e end, I ended up stressing myself way before I went in. The rest of my coursemates there were actually very nice. Everyone trying to make each other calm down & relax. And those who went in even selflessly shared the qns they were asked.

how shld I say, I am alrdy a person with not much confidence in myself. although I must admit I'm honoured that I was given a chance to be engaged in such stiff competition for a internship there. I wanted to go in, being myself and give it my best shot. Esp after TWF, I don't want to disappoint. BUT... I failed la, terribly to me.. cos I let myself get too stressed and tensed to answer the qns properly. Made the biggest mistake, there. Lost my mind, left my tongue at the door.

On a lighter note..

this pic was taken while we took a fun time exploring Muji at Marina Square today. The shop is so fun! like another classier Daiso which I rem we had spent 1-2 hrs at IMM during sec sch last time. We went there after our meeting and lunch. Accompanied Eric to do a little shopping and we ended up there. This pic was actually taken with our buys. The bottled drink is plum and apple juice! Its not as good as I thought it would be, but it felt good to be like.. all excited over this new thing you found. Felt like a little kid at the supermarket all over again. Going 'ooh' and 'aah' at all ur new discoveries. Haha!

The packet of snack I'm holding is sth recommended by 8 days. Cheese & cod cracker with black pepper. Pls go try it! Its very unique & tasty!

last nite was a one-of-a-kind experience. dinner at Meritius Mandarin, Orchard. in FULL formal wear. Its the last lesson of The Winning Formula and the topic is dining etiquette. Well, I'll not elaborate on my little disaster during my prep for e dinner that nearly made me late. Nearly late cos I took a cab from Buona Vista straight down and it saved me alot of time. But of cos, it also blow my pocket. Cos I took another cab ride in e morning for my acctg quiz. LOL. But I'm nt complaining.. Its money well-spent.

The food there was great, but I cannot say for myself that I had fully enjoyed the dinner. I think Prof Fock made a very relevant point that at least now we will not mind eating in Canteen B cos there, we do not have to worry how we place our fork and stuff. Haha.. good point!

Anyway, the prof was very nice to share with us his experience but i cant help but feel out of place. Cos the topic was on finance, banking sector and stuff. So most of the time I just nodded, smiled, or laughed at a joke. Or eat of cos. And the students there were all so outstanding that it makes me feel kinda small. LOL. Really.. double spec la, dean listers la.. And one of my classmate is flying to U.S end of this month for her internship. Another got hers at E&Y cos of her scholarship.

But still.. it was a meaningful nite. It was where the profs saw the fruit of their prog. The students who went thru the prog they fought for, and how they saw some of them transformed into another person. And the advice that they gave to us.. Particularly rem Prof Fock's ABC

A=Art Practise what we have learnt till its like an art to us.
B=Belief Believe in urself of cos!
C=Character Without this, even the best academic will fail.

I know they wont see it here but, thks to all e 3 profs for giving me a chance to go to TWF. I hope we can all prove that their hard work is worth it. Starting from my interview later? oops

This entire weekend is devoted to my accounting II quiz tml =_=" Hai. I still got 2.5 lectures of stuff to revise plus tutorial questions to go thru. And hopefully have some time left to practise some questions.

I'm afraid of the Excel quiz, honestly.. Cos there's only one hour for 2 questions. My god. And you still nd to bother abt stuff like spreadsheet DESIGN when I'm sure there's not even enough time to think abt the question. *slaps forehead* This is surely a speed test.

Oh well, dinner at Meritius Mandarin tml evening. You know, I'm not so sure I'm gg to enjoy it, cos I'll be wearing full formal for the dinner and its gonna be with some professors plus the consultants with TWF. Hai.. Long day tml.

ytd met Eugene for dinner and he brought me to AMK to try the bak chor mee that he has been praising for quite some time..

It tasted quite good, I hope this pic captured that. Its actually quite a big serving.. and I like that the mee pok is cooked the right way. Springy and doesn't clump tog like what I've eaten elsewhere b4. Yummy! And the wanton soup is another separate order (:

I'm actually supposed.. to make use of the boost the coffee gave me to start on my acctg revision. But I was a bit distracted after doing some stuff for one of my projects. And.. caught in one of my moodswing. So not the time for it.. not when ur acctg quiz on Monday is 20%..

Thursday, February 21, 2008

how should I conclude this week. Not THAT busy, but somehow I still can't manage to find time for some things I would have liked to do. Like studying for my accounting quiz next Monday. Its like MCQs plus an Excel quiz. I don't wish to screw it up cos its a hefty 20% ok.

Monday was a long day. Tuesday found myself running around town in my heels. How many inches? 3 inches I think? I dun really know but it was enough to make my feet hurt the other day la. But at least we accomplished something for our BH227 project. Next up is the accounting project which is starting to make me nervous cos the submission deadline is 19 March and there's like no interview with our client company yet.

But I'm rather happy and motivated despite mainly feeling tired after a long day, not wanting to do much. Because I got shortlisted for an interview with STB! Yay! Competition is very strong of course, but at this stage I'll just give it my best shot, instead of getting myself intimidated by my 'competitors'. 'Competitors' cos out of the other 4 of them, I sort of know 3. So its like.. weird you know? You want them (esp Eric =D) to get the intern but then it means undermining your own chances. So yeah.. Dilemma somehow.

Monday will be a trying day...

Morning: Acct Quiz
Afternoon: Interview with STB
Evening: TWF Dinner at Meritius Mandarin.

Good luck to all going for internship interviews!

pictures first... post shall be later (:

I keep forgetting if I've mentioned the professional imaging class that I'm currently attending. I think I did, but I cant really rem. Anyway, I went to my lesson today cos our trainer has some other training commitments so its sort of a reschedule.

today's lesson.. was conducted by the founder of ImageWorks Asia. I gotta really agree with Christina that their lesson is not just about appearance, actions and verbal aspects, but also the attitude. Its very much like a motivational seminar! I was already quite inspired by Cecilia, but Christina really has a way of talking and engaging us.

And how she told us we really got to have confidence in ourselves and believe in our own strengths for us to be able to stand out and convince the interviewer that.. we are the one they're looking for! Do you know that the questions like.. "Tell me more about yourself." is really not as simple we all think it is.. There is so much you can do with that question to really get the interviewer to know who you really are.

Nt just telling actually. She even showed us how to walk into the interview room, how to sit, how to greet, how to stand etc etc. Even how to smile and the 'right' facial expression that will make you look more 'open' so that you seem approachable and yet not too aloof.

And the sentence of the day?

Do not be afraid to fail, and it will give you courage.

my cousin was reading a storybook to the twins today while we were at my other cousin's place. as they sat and listened attentively (though by the glances they shot me I knew they couldn't understand - we all agreed the book was too wordy for them, but he still read it all the same.) to the story, I cant help but be reminded of myself more than 10 years ago. In the living room of our rented flat, I was struggling to read my first book Alice in Wonderland with this very same cousin.

I rem it was very stressful for me then, cos my english was damn lousy during my P1-P3. I didn't get to enjoy the joy the gals felt at someone reading them a story. Cousin was teaching me how to pronounce the words properly. page by page. word by word. till we finished the whole story and he'll fish out another one from the huge box of books and other stuff he brought over.

Of course I couldn't understand the importance of what he did then, neither did i appreciate it. But even till now, I am deeply grateful for what he did. As some of you may have heard this story before, I honestly owed what I have now to him. If it wasn't for his persistence in brushing up my english.. where would I be now?

I never dared to think the answer to that question. But while sitting at the couch with him just now, I couldn't say all this to him. Not with his daughter on his lap, or the twins sitting side by side me. I was afraid the tears would drop.. haha. cannot be so emo.. so, I say it here..

Thanks kor. You're more a father to me than a cousin, for that.. thank you.
the past 4 days has been very much family time for me, and tml will be the same. Ytd a big grp of 11 of us went to the new airport to walk walk and also *chuckle* show my aunt how to tk the train. Haha.. she cabs a lot, and given the present hikes she's thinking she shld find alternatives to her daily transport sometimes.
haha.. 11 pp is alot to travel tog. Esp when it consists of 2 maids with prams and a pair of korean twin sisters who have seemingly undepletable energy. was quality time spent with our relatives (: u seldom get to hang out tog like this, which is why.. I always try to convince my parents to stay in singapore during new year.

my mum is those type who is very afraid of crowds and big grps of people cos she finds them too rowdy and gives her headaches. As such, we're always mostly the first to leave a relative's house. Very kan chiong type, and very not my type, so sometimes.. there'll be disagreements btw us n her. ha. Just a few words exchanged, no worries.

today is lunch with the rest of the family at my cousin's place. Its actually his home office, he rents it for his work, and we've been going there since last yr. For a pot luck lunch and our usual ban luck session. haha.. its always fun to play with them cos u see alot of drama here and there =P just gotta observe and u'll know by the next new yr or so.. who will give black face when losing money... hahaha.

the younger half of the korean twins. the elder sis ran away, too engrossed with her game with another sis. haha.

the biscuits from hokkaido, which strangely got french words on it. Yummy!

took a much dreaded trip to msia to visit some of our paternal side relatives. I can tell you only our dad is enthu abt the trip la, although I know I shld think from his point of view that he seldom get to go home and see his brothers and nieces/nephews. But some of them really.. irk me. The way they treat their elders.. is very disappointing and saddening.

anyway, left house at like 630am and reach our first destination only at 1130+ cos there were no train tickets and we had to take a bus. And guess what? The bus was damn lousy and like halfway thru we heard sth snap, as in really 'snap!', while the bus was on e highway. And after that it went rickety-rack.. crawling slowly until it could no longer hold out and we changed a bus. The stupid ride made us tired and irritable long b4 we seen any of our relatives.

2nd aunt is her usual self, very hospitable though her house is among the humblest among the paternal relatives (but still, its a 2-storey semi-d). After a rushed lunch, we went to our granduncle and grandaunt's shophouse. My grandpa's brother & wife. Very retro 2nd-hand dealer shop. Was quite surprised to see they got a dog which isn't a stray. Very big and protective, till I decided I better not snap it =P

the row of motorbikes in the shophouse - some stuff they were selling. Granduncle is so cute, cos he's slightly deaf he couldn't hear my dad most of the times. And they had to tell him many things repeatedly by his ear. Ha, but he still drives a motorbike, cool huh!

Last stop was 1st uncle's house. Packed with his daughters who all wed and came home. They were also v hospitable, and keep asking us to eat this and that. One of our cousins also drove us to the train station where we took it home. Seeing uncle standing at the platform, and watching the train move off with us in it.. I cant help but feel a bit.. sad? He seemed to have aged. We did not see each other for very long, and the impression of him wasn't much until now. But still.. u can't help but feel.. wow, time flies. I was a little kid when they last saw me, and now my cousins can recognise my bro and not me. Since I looked so diff, they all forgot.. ha. even tot i'm e younger sis..

Well, I really dunno how am I to squeeze out time for my acct tut. Cos tml I'm meeting my aunts to go to the new airport tog at noon and we're to have dinner outside tog. Sunday is to meet at cousin's house for lunch and rounds of 'ban luck'.. tell me how to find more time..

Went for yingxiu's 21st on Sat after my Prof. Imaging Class. It was very rushed and all, and we were all hungry on the train. LoL. Its like the journey seemed to go on and on, but yet we never arrive at our destination.

Anyway, I think Sompong made a very valid statement - the first time we went to a 21st where the relatives > friends. Haha.. can see her family is a very close-knitted one. Cos almost every one calls her 'Xiu ah...', 'Xiu!'. Haha, got pet names for her de. And my face looks so shiny/oily in the first pic, eeks!

Last night had a sudden craving for western food, suggested to Eug that we go Botak Jones! Was a bit worried there'll be lots of pp and all, but luckily we still managed to find our seats and get our food in quite a reasonable amt of time.

What we did to entertain ourselves during the waiting. Hee. The custom made handphone pouches I bot at one of the bazaar stalls in NTU. I didn't know he took my fingers into the pic as well. Anyway, Eug's new phone is nice! His camera's quite gd, this was taken with it, clearer than mine. 3.2 megapixels. And here comes the main character of the day!

The Cajun Chicken at Botak Jones (Clementi). Hee.. the chicken is tender, but I would rather the fries and chicken not have this bitter aftertaste. Think its cos of the seasoning they use. But still.. very worth the $7.50 price tag, definitely a treat!

recently been busy over the networking night, and I'm so glad that its over now. Of cos, there are always two sides to everything. For the good.. I learnt that HR is so much more than I thought. So much more that I'm a bit worried I'm not able to handle it. Haha.. Jitters about my internship and first job so fast huh. And although the turnout was not what we had expected, the numbers are actually just fine for networking. Fine enough for mingling around. And I'm glad I told Prof Quazi abt how I feel abt our FastCat project. Tough, but definitely very practical learning experience.

The bad.. well. I was tired, shag from my day and I wasn't exactly in 'socializing mode'. So by the time it was for the 3rd and last rotation, I was just listening, spacing out =P and well.. sadly, disappointed by some of my seniors' attitude and way of handling things. Let's just say I feel some of us were taken for granted and could be treated better.

Enough of the networking stuff. I forgot if I've mentioned that lately I've been going for this Advanced Professional Imaging Class tt's been sponsored by the sch. I'm really glad I got called up for it and honestly it is very useful and I learnt alot. 6 modules of 4 hours lesson each. So far its only e 2nd lesson and it was so apt that ytd was the makeup class and I went straight to the networking in my makeup. It was a tad too heavy for me, the blusher. But Eric commented abt how my eyebrows made me looked nicer and Josephine looking more feminine. Woa, talk abt instant effects. haha.. gotta learn drawing my brows and eyeliner le! Before we go work that is..

frequency of posts will be lower as things eat up my time here and there, and sometimes I feel too lazy to blog. lol. There were times where I wanted to say sth here, made a mental note to, but when I on my com I alrdy lost all inspiration to write. The feeling's just not there anymore..

So when I was clearing my room and lots of memories were brought back, I told myself I shld blog. I will. And so here I am.. Spring cleaning never fails to make me nostalgic cos of the nick nacks I kept and other little stuff that will remind me of some people or events. Ha. Be it an old comb, a scribbled note etc.

And this time round I threw the whole stack of papers which i didn't last year. The stack of papers and notes from year one. Heck! Those are the rough papers. Sometimes u gotta be a bit hard-hearted when doing things.. if not, I wouldn't be able to see that desk top. Which I haven for quite a while cos of all my stacking =P

A bit lagging in my reading.. Had wanted to do it just nw, but ended up spring cleaning my room. Somehow I feel lazy.. Or maybe is the new year mood? (No... its an excuse, I know it. There!) I've been like playing games on www.viwawa.com its a real cute website.. and it makes me happy seeing the cute avatar. haha.. try it!

well, can see from my previous post I'm already sick of my job. Not to worry, I'm not quitting just yet. I havent earn enough.. And I know, from living example around me, I am actually alrdy very xin fu. Endure, try to endure ok shuhui, CNY coming soon...

ytd was the long-awaited friday for both me and eugene. Cos both of us had a hard week. And was looking fwd to it for a break. Was actually hoping we can meet earlier la, and its all my fault. For gg to the hairdresser then and the queue was long. Not in the alot of pp sense, but the work to be done b4 me. The hairdresser was dying hair for 3 pp and I nd to wait for her lo. And I was so glad I wasn't like one of them, she was there since 12++ ok.. so means she waited for 6+ hours. OMG! The hairdresser la, she's a bit slow kind.. but i think its good esp when u do rebonding and dying hair with her. And some more, cos its new year that's why.. more pp..

And so, I cut my hair. to a shorter length. Cos my ends are too thinned out by one wrong move from a previous hairdresser. And since I wanted to go for a change, but not too drastic one (cos I still wan my long hair), I think I cut abt 5 inches of my locks. Ok la, I like the hairstyle.. just that cos I just cut, the ends at the side is a bit qiao, hope it'll grow out when my hair becomes longer.. if not I'll have to be stuck with a dilemma of to rebond or not. I don't wan to rebond when my hair is not the length I want! argh.. *cross fingers*

okies.. bought this shirt from na fang's shop blog. I've long wanted to buy a pair of shorts, white since it'll go with alot of clothes easily.. But still haven get it yet. Am trying to plan a trip to Bugis for it.. see how it goes. but boo.. she nv gimme discount ):

I hate the job.
But I like my colleagues.

I want to quit.
But I need the money.

I know I'll be much more relaxed if I don't do the job. Just quit.
But a promise is a promise. Since I committed to it, I shld stick to it.

But I hate the fact that its only WEEK 3 and my READINGS ARE PILING!
I dragged myself to work after sch.

Monday, it'll be damn sian to wait for wk to start. Wed it'll be damn rushed cos lessons finish late and I have less than 1/2 hr to eat. Sun I'll have to forego my evening time, which can usually be spent slowly reading a textbk after TV. at least its better than nothing.

I hate that from the tone of the person on the other end of the phone I know he's not going to donate ever, and yet I still have to make myself finish everything I nd to say. I hate that even if the person gave me shit attitude I still have to sound nice and polite and end off with a Thank You. Thanks for what?! For your shitty and rude attitude?!

'Oh. I don't need to consider.'

'Sorry Sir, what do you mean?'

'I don't want to donate my money'

'Do you recall receiving the 2007 Annual Giving..'

'Oh that one ah, I don't want to donate. Ok.'

I hate that I'm letting all this affect me though its just a stupid job that I do to bring in extra money.

Thursday, January 17, 2008

well.. my blog's been stagnant for quite a few days. Been wanting to blog abt Soonhui's 21st chalet but there wasn't much time. What with sch starting and my phonathon job, I don't have much time left for stuff like blogging.. Just spent resting or doing my tut and stuff. Argh.. These 2 days gotta use it fully to catch up. Full speed ahead!

anyway.. there's alot photos uploaded by weizhe, heow hui & pong.. So when I got the time, I'll start pulling some out and put them here.. and ya, I'm trying not to get too tempted by a top I saw online. Argh... its hard to resist temptation, esp when there's a sale!

Sunday, January 06, 2008

My knight in white. hehe.. In his uniform, we actually weren't supposed to hold hands or anything, but Eug said nvm. So in the pic we seem like a shy couple who just got tog. Like don't dare to lean in too close or show the held hands. hahaha.. But I still love the pictures we took, his fren was nice to help us take 3 and told us to 'change pose'.

But what you cannot see, is the 2 squads of army boys clad in their clean white uniform beside us plus the MP vehicles and some MP ard. I honestly felt quite intimidated and a bit scared to walk in the alley beside Heerens to find him. Haha.. was afraid I'll be stopped by some MP and hauled away like some criminal cos there were the army guys there, and I stood out like such a sore thumb.

anyway, since Eug had things on tml morning and I was having a splitting headache (ever since I reached town) we had a simple dinner at the BK in Vivocity. Double Swiss Mushroom! Yummy
yummy! We were both so hungry lo, cos it was alrdy like 7+ close to 8 and we haven eaten anything. My stomach was so empty its got this weird feeling alrdy. haha, so the BK was v satisfying!
anyway, I met Minshan ytd for lunch at JP and we went ard to shop. Had so much fun with her. But saw this woman that made me utterly disgusted by her 'fashion sense'. She actually has quite a nice body. Tall and slim, 3/4 jeans and shoes that enhanced her nice legs. But she had to show her underwear. And if its like u wore a G-string or wad then u bend down n it showed, ok.. That is still 'passable', I can just look away. But this woman, had her whole panty band popping out, showing distinctively between her jeans n top. and I mean WHOLE because it was RED and said CALVIN KLEIN.
it was damn disgusting to me la.. I mean, as a girl, shouldn't you take more responsibility in making sure ur undies doesn't show. I don't care wad brand you're wearing underneath and I dont want to see it. Especially when it looks like u're wearing ur man's briefs cos that was what hers looked like. Its like those boxers guys wear and the band that show when their baggy pants sag. and she was with a bunch of guys.. Damn. I wonder wad's got into her.

Saturday, January 05, 2008

Night mode did not really work for us. And my head looked so big, lol. But its ok, its a start to our photo-taking. haha.. I bet the couple waiting for the parking space must be damn pissed. Hee.. we were abt to go when we tot we shld take a pic and there was this car waiting for our lot =P

anyway, Eug brought me to Maxwell Food Center (I'm not v sure if that's wad its called, but yeah.. Its Maxwell, quite near Lau Pa Sat) to have the porridge there. He was telling me how good is it, and the moment we stepped in the first stall I see is He Ji Zhou - a big stall with a queue. There were like abt 3 pp at the kitchen area cooking the porridge lo, you can imagine how busy it is if it were to be lunch hour. There's a wide variety of porridge there, and we order the Mixed Pork Porridge.

Here you go, the yummy porridge. Real smooth and a lot ingredients, which justifies the $3.50 they're charging it for. Pig's intestines, kidney, pork etc. Oh, only complain I had was that the intestines weren't handled properly, as in washed or seasoned properly, cos there's this icky porky smell to it. But other than that, everything was great. So maybe if u guys shld try this next time, req for no intestines then (:

So yep, the dessert.. heh heh. I think its Longan beancurd, though it tastes like jelly. But still.. not bad (:
Ytd was the last day of my attachment. The past few days our colleagues have been treating us very well cos they knew we're leaving. Well, not that they did not treat us well b4, just that they took the initiative to ask us to go out with them for lunch & letting us choose the place etc. Just Thurs they treated us to Billy Bombers at JP. I wished I had my cam phone with me, so I could take pictures of our food. I had sth called Surf and Turf, which was really nice. To my surprise (as well as my colleagues), I managed to finish everything eh. There was a steak (not the usual portion, damn big lo that one) and a fish fillet.. Steak was tender, fish was real good too.. oh, instead of fries I chose potato salad which made me real glad I did. Cos the salad was good, and my colleagues kept commenting on how 'balanced' my meal was. haha.. cos theirs are all fried or like ribs (gravy's got fat ma.. =P).
well.. 5 weeks there. Eric had said he regretted going there cos he might have had more meaningful ways of spending his hols. Yeah.. I agreed somehow, if I went back to Starhub, I could earn near 3x more. which will do me a lot of good given the financial security it would give me. haha.. I did not learn as much as I hoped to. Mainly did Excel stuff, and in e end the employee opinion survey had been pushed back 2-3 times till the deadline was 3 Jan. And since it was only one day for me to help them do the results, I couldn't do much. Pity the temp staff taking over me. I had tot that if I were to be given the time to help them churn out the results of the EOS, it would be a good achievement on my part. 2000+ responses and I'll have to like do the results for each SBU even.
But the exposure and friendly colleagues were a huge plus point la. Its like I was networking, career advice they gave were very good too. What we asked they would always give very good answers and sound advice.. (: But I don't think I'll be going back there for my PA, I hope to go into another industry, hopefully Tourism..

Tuesday, January 01, 2008

just read the last of my novels I borrowed. Well.. I had 7 in total from the 3 trips made to the library. But those written by Wendy Holden had sort of disappointed me. They were bestsellers but I had honestly preferred The Undomestic Goddess over any of those. There were a lot of dialogue and details which I felt were boring and doesn't contribute much to the plot. Ended up flipping my way thru' the pages till I found myself staring at The End. So yep, I had a total of 4 of Holden's book, but after 2 I went back to my Nora Roberts. Eve & Roarke were much more interesting to read.

Anyway.. last nite.. I gotta apologise to Shuyi, Soonhui & Heow Hui. It was quite silly on my part. Haha, being at home I had drank too fast, and too much wine (on an empty stomach =P) and so halfway trying to organize a last min chit chat session I felt whoozy and decided to call it a day. I rem Heow Hui telling me he'll call e rest and I just went to lie down on my bed. Still, I think in e end u guys never meet up rite? So sorry I spoilt everything!

First day of the year.. first person I met was.. Eugene. no surprise here ya, haha.. He came back ytd afternoon from Msia. And we met for lunch today. Simple affair, beef hor fun and Starbucks! There's so much people at Vivo lo.. I tot the crowds would be elsewhere since the countdown last nite was alrdy there. I was so wrong!

But anyway, had a good time just chilling out with him (: Last 3 days of work and then it'll be school starting all over again for me. I would also be doing that calling job.. which I totally find a bore but had to do it cos of the $$. ha.. Jan will be busy for him.. so let's jia you ya.. Looking fwd to friday, last day of work!

Monday, December 31, 2007

well, last day of the year.. Was reading Stomp's starblog and this week's entry is about the most memorable moments of 2007. What better way to end the year by reminicising some of the best/worst moments rite? (now who said memorable has to be good?)

So here we go, my 10 Most Memorable Events in 2007: (In no particular order, but of cos some will be more significant than the others.. hee.)

#1 GSS France/London
The last time I made my way out of Singapore further than Malaysia was in Sec 1 or Sec 2 when I went to Bangkok during CNY. Which was way back. Haha.. So this trip is actually very significant to me, my first ever to Europe, without my family and going with friends.. Of cos, during this trip there are many 'memorable moments', but rather than letting them take up my whole list.. Let's save it for other memories.. haha.

Ok, the ones most clearest in my mind are.. Our lessons and lunches in sch, Paris trip. Perhaps London will be most remembered, for the journey there was hard and long. But no matter wad.. I will always rem the English man who had helped me when I was the most helpless. Standing at the top of the bridge with my 20kg luggage and a flight of stairs ahead of me. I was damn afraid I would roll down the stairs. Just when I made the first few steps.. This hand from behind just took my luggage and a man made his way down in the blink of an eye. He walked away right after putting my luggage down at the bottom of the stairs, never even turning his head back. And I had to shout my thanks to him very loudly.. This act of kindness warmed my heart thoroughly after the rough journey. For that, thank you.. whoever you are (:

#2: Cousin's Wedding at Rasa Sentosa
The first wedding ever for a long time. Not many 'unmarried' cousins left other than me and my bro. Haha.. Always loved weddings for the happiness and joy that surround everyone present. Most of all.. its a chance to see all my relatives (maternal side, that is) besides the CNY. And dressed so differently! Of cos.. its my first time at a 5 star hotel.. =P

#3: Breakfast at Yacht Club
This was before me and Eugene started our r/s, but even before we did it was alrdy memorable. Haha.. nono, its not becos we are tog then now it is memorable. Its just that besides Soonhui, Sompong, Heow Hui, Thong Ler etc he is the only guy outside our NH clique that I can maintain a good platonic friendship with. And its quite amazing that most of our friendship before this has been sustained only from MSN, the phonecalls in sec sch ONLY and yet he can understand me easily like them. Yep, so the first 'gathering' (a bit weird to call it this since its usually used for a grp of pp isn't it, haha) was breakfast at Yacht Club. Needless to say, everything was good.. the weather, the food and everything and it paved the way..

#4: 19 April
Paved the way for the start of our r/s. I still rem clearly that day I was at JP meeting my uni frens to go sch tog and we were having one of our usual sms chats. So when he popped the qn I was like on the escalator and the first pp that knew were my uni friends cos they saw my wide smile and everything.. haha. I'm sure we'll have many more memorable moments to come in the coming year other than this.. Many memories are alrdy etched in me in the short 8-9 months so far. Thks for everyting dear dear..

#5: Primary school gathering at Pizza Hut/JP
this is memorable although there was another gathering earlier in the year becos I managed to meet Weili and Vicky properly for the first time since we grad.. Had a gd time catching up and chatting.. I'm very glad I still keep in touch with some of my pri sch mates cos I know some pp alrdy like lost contact with theirs long ago. So I really treasure whatever we have now.

#6: Dragonboat Freak Accident in Cambodia
Other than the fact that Wei Cheng had been a fellow saint, this incident had a huge impact on many Singaporeans becos 5 talented and passionate dragonboat rowers were lost so suddenly. It made me, and alot Singaporeans, learnt a lesson the hard way. Live your life to the fullest; live it your own way and treasure what and who you love most. Even till now I still visit the blogs dedicated to the 5 warriors occasionally to read thru the msgs. One day, I will no longer tear when reading them and will smile at the beautiful memories they left behind for the people who knew them.

Its really touching to see their friends drop by the blog frequently, to drop msgs to wish them Merry Xmas, update abt their own lives etc as if to chat and accompany them. Let's learn our lesson from now on shall we..

#7: Release of Results
Ok la, I know some people cannot understand why it is memorable (or maybe find that I am showing off) becos you all have been getting straight As all along until you numb to the feeling alrdy.. haha. But average students like me, who have been getting only a string of Bs ever since I gone uni.. This is very significant to me. Of cos, it'll serve as a motivation for me to work hard to maintain the results for the coming semesters (well, not much.. 3 more!). Yay shuhui.. you can do it!

#8: Wearing contact lenses
Indeed.. the initial hassle of wearing contact lens, the 'freedom' of no glasses.. From a love-hate relationship, I have alrdy grown to adjust and come to rely on it.. haha. Shall continue to take care of my eyes and contact lens in the coming 2008!

#9: Harry Potter's final book!
Yeah.. getting the final book. Sth that made me anticipated, and yet when I read it I cant bear for it to end and wanted to ask for more. I'm sure this is the same for many Potter fans like me out there! haha. This book is really good, although there were sad parts like the battle in Hogwarts which took the lives of many people.. I guess the good ending make up for it. Now.. is to look forward to the movie then.. (:

#10: Fireworks@ Vivo, 30th Nov
Now I rem the date even cos it was the last day of exam. And it being so memorable cos I didn't even plan to watch it, didn't even noe the first place.. haha. Last day of exams and went to Vivo for movie and lunch with Joyce, Lionel and Amy.. And was supposed to follow with meeting Eugene for dinner. Only when we were there then did we know, that Vivo City was celebrating its first year anniversary with a small concert and fireworks display the very same day at 9pm.

Sometimes, the most memorable event need not be purposefully planned. I guess this is life, cliche as it is, but really.. life is full of surprises and we do not noe know what will happen in the next second, minute, hour, even year.. This was what I felt when watching the fireworks right in front of me and Eug that nite. Fireworks - beautiful and short.

2007 will be gone in a few hours time.. hope that whatever 2007 had brought you guys this year, 2008 will be even better for all of u. You never know, you might find yourself a new girlfriend/boyfriend.. New friends of course.. but let's hope they'll be those good ones worth maintaining a friendship with. For the guys.. hope your new life, the next phase, which is uni will be a smooth transition for you.

Happy New Year everyone!
