this is currently occupying my 'screen time' like 90% of the time, when I'm not doing my work... I love this series too! But compared to the CSI series, this is much more darker and 'heavier'. Its about the Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU) in FBI, and they usually deal with psycopath killers, serial killers, serial rapists... you get it. People with severe psychological disorders. Those more serious and aggressive crimes. The story plots are quite good, but cos alot killers already lost their senses, alot of the crimes... instead of with motives, they are killing 'cos they cant help it, or to satisfy some weird, warped ideas.

but a few sad stories too... like how this solder who returned from serving in Somalia. He had to kill a child soldier to save his comrade. However, even after he was back home, in the words of his wife 'he never really returned'. He suffered severe post-trauma stress disorder (I think this is roughly what its called). The impact of the war on him was so great, he sort of lost it. While out on the highway one day, his car broke down and he heard a drill at a construction site nearby which resembled the gunshots on the warfield.

That sparked off the rampage. He was 'transported' back to the war zone in his mind. He went around hiding from his 'enemies' and when he chanced upon people, strangers near his hiding place... he killed them thinking they were the enemy troops. In the end, they set a trap to lure him out. Just when he was about to be saved by the FBI (the poor man nds psychological treatment), a little kid drove by on his bicycle.

He ran towards the little boy, thinking he was the one he had killed in the war. He wanted to tell him its not safe, to save him. But the sniper thought that he wanted to kill the little boy... so he ended up being shot, to death.

Yeah, so they have plots with depth, thought provoking ones... that makes you really think about the grey areas in life. There is one particularly impressionable quote from one of the agents after interrogating the criminal:

"You know, it is inevitable that some people who grew up in broken families or suffered abuse to become killers themselves. Its a case of the abused becoming the abuser."

"You said some, what happen to the others?" (this was the criminal)

"Others grow up catching them"

been feeling sian to the max since last night. I think I'm letting the PMS get to me. Got a feeling... that this last week WILL be boring.

Sunday, December 28, 2008

While immersing myself in the holiday mood & festive season, Dec also means a lot of self-reflections.

Things that happened

Choices I made

Things I’ve done and not done

Words I’ve said or not said

This year is a special year because of the many changes that took place. By that I do not mean turning 21, because honestly… I think age is just a number. It does not really signify ‘adulthood’ to me, because… Come on, we have all seen grown-ups with impossibly childish behaviors haven’t we? To me it just means having to take on more responsibility. Its another phase in life.

Anyway, although I am a pessimist by nature, shall look back to 2008 by counting my blessings instead of crying over spilt milk… you know, the ‘what ifs’ and ‘if I knew’. Here goes, long post ahead:

#1: New friends

Did not expect to get to know more people in NTU because we’re already in final year and most people are always more comfortable sticking to cliques they are already in… But thru’ Joyce I got to know you gals: Qiuru, Wanting, Xuan Wan & Zhi Yi. Somehow, call it affinity or whatever you like, am closer to Qiuru & Wanting… I’m glad that we could work well together in our projects & still had fun after sch too… I miss hanging out with you gals, bitching about sch over meals… hope we can meet up when Wanting gets better & Joyce comes back from India. Perhaps when school starts? (:

And of cos, the colleagues I’ve been mentioning frequently since I got to know them in May. Gladys & co. Going out with you guys is different with my other friends, ‘cos of the difference in age and SPENDING POWER (hahaha…) I also get to see/experience more. And of cos, advice comes from different perspective… And like I’ve said b4, thks to you guys too, for making my internship more than just a prelude to wking life in future…

#2: My many ‘firsts’
Yes, its unbelievable how many ‘firsts’ I’ve had just in this year alone… you’ll be surprised by some of it :X
1. First Ramly burger I ate
2. First water chestnut drink
3. First bowling experience
4. First time clubbing
5. First dinner at a local French restaurant
6. First time sky dining

This is what I rem off-hand, I’m not surprised if some of you help me to recall more ‘firsts’. So yep, 2008 is a year of many firsts for me. And I look forward to more new experiences next year!

#3: Jeremy

No surprise hor? I purposely don’t wanna put him first, save the best for the last. if not it’ll be so predictable. HAHA. Well, I’m sure friends know by now its not easy how we started. But after 6 months together, I never once regret the difficult decision I had to make and what we went through to be together. So I especially treasure what we have now… and the little tiff that we had recently made me even more aware of how much he, and our relationship means to me. And of cos, his attentiveness and the TLC he showered on me (: seeing him just makes me smile. And just a phonecall can brighten up any lousy day…

And the thing is, it’s the first time in my relationships that friends come up to me to say things like I look ‘blissfully happy’, ‘happily attached’ and that I always got this silly look on my face when I talk abt my bf (yes you, minshan… :P). Pardon me if I mention my bf too much for your liking, its just that having spend so much time tog, many things just remind me of him or things that he mentioned etc.

And this is definitely not an escalation of commitment...

Jeremy… changed me.

To be more of a ‘yes’ person (no this is not an advert for the movies Yes Man) to try new things/food/activities instead of sticking to my comfort zone. Also, showing me things and stuff that a uni student like me wouldn’t have a lot of chances to experience. But there are still things that the stubborn me refuse to say yes to, and he’s trying to psycho me once in a while. Bleah. I won’t give in entirely, wahaha.

To be more confident in myself and the things I do. Sometimes he need to remind me not to think too much and how ‘silly’ I am. Yes, I am a worry-wart and pessimist. I need more of his confidence…

So, baby… you must have heard some of these abovementioned before, and we also said that there are no more ‘thanks’ between us… but really, thank you. For being here, being you, and reminding myself I just have to be myself and be more confident… less self-conscious…

For the coming year, hope that I'll be a supporting gf. be there when you need me. to talk, confide, or just take your mind off work and school. To many more happy times like these...

<3

And of cos other than these people, there are other people who made a difference to 2008 for me too.

how could I leave you guys out - other than 'Jeremy' the most often mentioned words should be 'my Nan Hua frens' and 'Minshan' already. LOL. being with you guys is always fun and no stress, no strings attached. don't have to worry abt image... keke. and... thks for listening, especially that impt period in June. supporting my decision, though I noe it was a bit hard to accept at first (:

so 2008 is a gd year. life-changing. with downs, but more ups. next year won't be easy. with graduating and entering the workforce, but I'm sure... with challenges comes the growing up and maturing that follows. bring it on! (:

just a quick update on x'mas... tired from the past few days' events.

at the BBQ at Jer's grandma's place

ya, if you find that you seen sth similar b4 the ans is yes. Thks to me. I can't help it la... I always have abt the same smile... after I remove my braces then I go try a few more different 'faces'

guess where are we?

shall upload the rest to facebook when I am more free...

so christmas was a happy one (:

Friday, December 26, 2008

had a great x'mas eve thanks to you guys... cooking tog was fun, to have everyone crowded in the kitchen and helping here and there. it wasn't some traditional x'mas eve dinner, but the company made everything great. The one scene that is stuck in my mind now is of how, we successfully managed to get Soonhui to eat that last hotdog in zhong ji mi ma.

there was no cue, no hint. but all of us just stood up tog and cheer and hi-fived. Thks ah kor, you showed me how much mo qi we all have. after knowing each other for so long. your 'sacrifice' was worth it. HAHA.

so ytd went to Jer's grandma's place for a BBQ. How coincidental that he's got two aunts having their bday on christmas. So his aunts/uncles/cousins were all gathered there. first time seeing the extended family... and Ma Ma (no joke, they really call her Ma Ma de. I call my late grandma Ah Ma though, haha) said that she is very happy to see her 2 grandsons' gfs.

hmm, was a lil' nervous abt meeting them since its the first time I am experiencing this meet-the-relatives kind of stuff. you know, like what do I say, what should I do? but I guess it turned out alright (: there'll be more chances to know each other better in future... his cousins are a playful bunch, but cute! haha... played a game called 'cling cling' with them - its like Iceman & catching. which means alot running. gave me the exercise I've been wanting... The game sort of reminded me of our pri sch yrs and I missed those Iceman days!

pictures another day... (: have a great wkend guys!

merry christmas, everyone! been squeezing in time for work in between my tudou and FB-ing. 'cos I've found another series to watch - Criminal Minds. Behavior Analysis
Unit in F.B.I. Woots!

seems as if 老天 is making up for no white christmas by granting rain to us today. made it cold with rain? woke up to a chilly morning.

I know I've been ranting non-stop that I'm looking forward to christmas, let me say it again?

I can't wait for tonight and the days after! (:

so excited about the impending X'mas. plans start from X'mas eve with pot luck at Pong's house. then stayover at Jer's place till sat... will be busy these few days, shall have to try and get work done before I go play my holidays awat =P

Saturday, December 20, 2008

the 小娘惹 craze seems to have kicked in now that the show is more than halfway into the series. Here is a conversation that took plac during my pri sch gathering at Thong Ler's place. I forgot which of the guys said what, 'cos it was some talk over the mahjong table while washing tiles, everyone chipped in:

XX: so you are staying for dinner already? not meeting your boyfriend?

Me: ya, he's going to his grandma's place for dinner. he asked me after I made plans with you all so I told him another time.

XX: wa... meet the grandparents already! so have you prepared what to cook for the Ma Ma? must take the test and cook you know?

Me: =_="

Haha! I seriously didn't expect that. but yeah, I'm catching up with watching the series online too cos I only read the synopsis and didn't really watch. anyway, the gathering ytd was more like our usual nan hua clique one. esp after edwin left for his captain's ball practice. left with me, thong ler, zz & wei zhe. haha! eh... I am damn tempted by shuyi's suggestion to go sentosa for our games again... anyone up for it?

was told this is a nice picture... ok la, I wished my mouth isn't opened that big. lol, but yeah, I think I look naturally happy. 'cos minshan was saying sth funny when she snapped.

today, all I told Jer was that I had a FYP meeting today. that's only half of the truth, heh heh. we planned to bake too! woots. thks to minshan who generously shared her recipe and 'lent' me her oven. we baked some choc chip cookies and sorta shared them...

it was so fun just to learn cookies... then while beating up the dough, spooning out the cookie dough, waiting for it to bake... we just do the usual irritating & making fun of each other, singing along to the songs on my hp... you get it, haha.

I was told the only black fish in the tank, is called... Reuben :X sorry ah sookee, I find it damn funny and laughed. and though I feel its v bad, I still kp 'talking to Reuben' to kp myself busy.

thks gal, I had alot of fun today (:

then was dinner at Jer's place. felt bad to turn down two invitations at a go, but I already have plans... one was for X'mas eve. then baby casually asked me to his grandma's place for dinner tml. hehe. well, I got mahjong and dinner planned le. maybe new yr ba?

watched another French horror, Haute Tension (High Tension). with a twist! then we gave each other massages, which was much appreciated... I think I had the better end of the deal. wahaha. oh and this stupid cockroach just landed on the windshield when Jer was dropping me off at my block. and just when I revealed why I hate/detest/fear cockroaches in previous post. DAMN. we both sat in the car for a while, thinking of ways to get the damn thing off. lol... oh no, Jer feels the same abt cockroaches, how to help me catch next time? haha...

give me a day like this anytime.

gd friend. boyfriend. and me.

幸福!
been tagged by minshan so I need to write down 21 things that people dunno abt me ('cos we're 21 this yr). Gosh, here goes... all my 丑事, haha:

#1: I used to be a shortie in primary sch. By some much-appreciated miracle, my height also (Minshan too, lol) up in Sec 1 and I like my height now. WAHAHA.

#2: My brother and I always call each other names: 'eh stupid', 'oi idiot...' and sometimes I call him by his full name '陈湧达'. But other times I also call him 达达. Its just a habit that grew over the years :P

#3: I used to be afraid of the mop in the toilet when I was a kid. My mum always inverted it & put it against the wall to dry it. I alw tot it look like the head of a ghost with long white hair.

#4: I love coffee. But except for those Starbucks & Coffee Bean drinks, I never drink coffee outside. I find them too thick for my preference. I like my Old Town 3-in-1 coffee best (:

#5: I am actually always quite nervous before presentation, altho I was told I looked damn calm and at ease. Heh. I guess I am gd at putting up fronts. HA.

#6: I never wear heels more than 3 inches. Initially it was cos of my ankle injury, but its also 'cos I think my height is fine, I don't want to be 'too tall'.

#6: I love new year not for the ang baos, but more for the chances to see some cousins whom I seldom see. But when I see them, I don't dare to go up to them to say how I miss seeing them around. Shy la... =P

This is getting difficult...

#7: I used to be a crybaby when I was a kid, so much so that my mum hated nightfall. I will bawl my lungs out, until next day the neighbours will ask: 'is ur baby ok? we could hear her cry when we were slping last nite'

#8: I have no more grandparents on both sides of the family. Sometimes I envy those of you all who are very close to ur grandparents... I only have some yrs with my maternal grandma before she passed away.

#9: Once when I was a kid, I secretly took a jar of chocolate into my room to eat. But I clumsily broke the jar and was discovered. GREEDINESS LED TO NO GD ENDING.

#10: I went to my first chalet/stayover only when I was in Sec 4.

#11: I used to like lighting up candles in my room. But I stopped cos I was told it attract those 'dirty things'. heh heh.

#12: Sometimes to appear less bored and more occupied on the train, I take out my phone and pretend to sms. That's when I forget my earphones and have nth to accompany me.

#13: I can get angry or irritated by certain things or people quite easily but usually I successfully suppressed my emotions. So I am not as gd-tempered as I appear to be.

#14: I used to be an early slp, early rise person. 10/11+ was my usual slping time.

#15: I hate people who doesn't give way to alighting passengers and once I purposely bumped into someone who was charging into the train. I think one day I might just shout at them to 让开!

#16: I can understand a bit of simple Malay 'cos my mum tried to teach me some when I was in primary sch.

#17: I was terrified of thunder. When I was a kid, I would cover myself with a blanket or hide behind the mattress during thunderstorms so I wouldn't 'hear' the thunder as much.

#18: Malay weddings used to remind me of #17. Me and my brother make my mum go crazy when the Malay weddings downstairs start hitting their drums and stuff. She will use all kinds of tactics to distract us. Sweets, walks, etc :P

#19: Dad lost me and my bro once on different trips to the shopping centers. I found my way to the information counter while my bro found his own way home. Clever kids eh? Mum never made him forget that when we were growing up.

#20: My fear/disgust/detest of cockroaches all dated back to the time I found this cockroach in between my bro's and my mattress when we were slping out in the living room. I was sort of just waking up, my hand went in between the mattress and I 'caught' a cockroach just like that. Dammit, talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time. We were still young kids. Both of us screamed like crazy. Cousin stayed over that time and we gave her the room.

#21: I am secretly happy (well, not anymore, now everyone noes) when friends from JC/pri sch who havent seen me for a long time can't recognise me. And then tell me how I've changed. HAHA. 不要脸~

I'm quite sure this is not those I-just-cut-my-hair-and-I-feel-its-ugly feeling ): boohoo! I'm too pampered by my previous hairstylist Cindy such that my worst fear really materialize. My bob is spoilt. I actually just wanted to trim it into sth so that I can keep my hair long again. I think she tried to trim it back to bob, and dunno how to do it. I feel so ... now. Oh nooooo.

I want it to grow longer faster, hopefully it looks better when it grows out... if not I'll have to do sth to salvage it.

I don't like my hair now ):

FYP meeting/met up with Minshan at JP today. I really wanna say thks gal, for making FYP more bearable this holiday. It needs a lot of discipline to make myself prepare and do my work b4 meeting you when everything is screaming 'HOLIDAYS' to me. haha...

love the spanking new JP, I know its not the first time I'm saying this too. haha. held back the urge to shop today although I've been itching to do so. No. I shall be a gd gal and shop in JB tml so I can use my ringgit instead of dollar. hahaha. I seriously wanna buy a pair of white shorts, saw a nice one at a gd price at Citylink Mall that day but it doesn't have my size ): and I wanna change my wallet to a more compact one... I also wanna get another belt... and of cos, clothes for the new year... I'm hoping I won't have to use my credit card tml. I've never used it yet... I don't wish to use it cos I don't like the idea of spending money that's not earned yet...

And I was telling Adeline today, I love the months of Dec-Feb. haha, festive season and lots of meetups. Be it for family or friends... Wed's got a dinner with my GSS friends, hope it'll materialize...
was a little disappointed that it looked so cloudy when I woke up in the morning. the weather forecast didn't do me any gd by predicting a 60% chance of rain. but we still went ahead, postponed our meeting time and set off for Sentosa after breakfast at Ya Kun's~!

it was drizzling when we reached Sentosa but we still played a bit of Frisbee. By a bit its really a bit. God, we are all getting 'old'! we played 2-pt game then stopped. Usually it was like 5 or 7. after that, Pong started to be v interested in building sandcastles... haha!

and we shot a damn funny video that I've uploaded on Facebook, guaranteed laughs! :P
Its been quite some time since we hanged out the whole day together just like that, and kor... really... when you're around its more fun :X oops

glad to see min chee & rose, usually only meet you all in sch and didn't get to chat much always. Though you won't see this, but thks for coming all the way down though it was raining!

with rose and shuyi

min chee (:

body's aching from 2 days of running around... and I just did the laundry! gosh! haha... tml will be shopping in JB, I sure hope can find some clothes to 'refill' my wardrobe.

looking forward to our X'mas eve pot luck! and the badminton session... let's plan it. weekday evening after your classes or weekends?

Saturday, December 13, 2008

just want to blog about these two days b4 the 'feeling' for writing goes away with slp and exhaustion.

Friday was a night out with my dear colleagues & Jer, 爱琴海民歌餐厅. Its actually my first time there and we were one of the earliest to occupy the tables. Quite like the feel of the place, but I think at certain times me and Jer were just a bit bored. I didn't yawn as much as he did :P but certain times I was stoning cos I'm not v familiar with some of the songs they sang.

The singers were quite entertaining though, jokes and self-deprecating humour here & there. Its a gd way to chill out cos the singers mostly have gd vocals and its nice to surround yourself with music that way. I think the female singers that night were rather gd! Small cafe, a drink and the company of friends (: nice!

today was the long-awaited session of badminton at the CC near Jer's place. To be honest... though I was quite enthu at the opportunity to sweat it out again, I was sort of a bit reluctant to run around too much. Partly cos I'm those type of 'lazy' players... I think too much of leisure playing... if I think the ball is out of my reach, I'll not run to take it. Heh. And also... the big day tml!~ sort of 'conserving' my energy for it, I know if I get sore limbs today I won't be able to last long in Sentosa tml. I seriously hope there will be gd weather. PLEASE!

Shall leave the pictures for after the Sentosa trip. I like that I've been running around trying to get myself the much-needed exercise. actually my mum is not very pleased that I've been out so much, even if its for games/exercise. she feels I'm outside too much for my own gd. ah... the over-protectiveness again, we're used to it by now aren't we... But I seriously wanna make the best out of one of my last holidays... Let's just be selfish for a while.

I slacked for too long, will try to build up the momentum again... I can't just eat and not burn it off right... haha. anyone up for more badminton? and I think I nd to start running too... hmm...

Thursday, December 11, 2008

been itching to get out of the house. today spent some time in Jer's neighbourhood trying to find a shop that can help to restring his badminton racket. gosh. its almost like an extinct trade. I can't find any shop there. And when I decided to give it one last shot by going to Minshan's area, which is just a stone's throw away... the sky started to look damn threatening. The huge grey clouds look like they can't wait to unload their rain down to earth below.

I don't need a crystal ball to tell me what will happen next or what to do. Immediately rushed off to the bus stop to board a bus for JP. Thank god, the moment i stepped into the bus stop it rained cats & dogs. The wind whipped the rain around till the bus stop seemed quite redundant in sheltering me from the rain. I was still wet! boo.

but the rain brought me to JP, the new extension to be exact... gosh, I'm so proud of it! Its got almost everything I want inside. I mean, Boon Lay hasn't always been this bustling and popular. Some people still think its an industrial area filled with Banga quarters. Some people wouldn't think much of 'Boon Lay' or 'Jurong'. Look at it now, woots!

can't wait for everything to open, I'm happy enough that there's Thai Express & G2000 there! Minshan dear, brace yourself for a long walk in JP (:

Plans for the weekend
Fri: 民歌餐厅 with Jer & colleagues
Sat: Badminton!
Sun: Sentosa with NH friends (:

I've been looking fwd to our Sentosa trip since 19845623956 days ago. Even before it was planned. LOL. So I certainly hope the weather is good enough for us to have some fun at the beach on Sun. Weather report's not looking gd though *cross fingers & toes*

Tuesday, December 09, 2008

our plan to go picnic & blading at ECP was somewhat spoilt by the rain ytd. Somewhat spoilt becos we finally found a shelter at the end of ECP, though to Gladys' disappointment there is no view of the sea, it was filled with boxes of mineral water leftover from the Marathon. wahaha. so we could drink as much as we want after finishing our root beer & beer. Imagine washing your feet with mineral water? :P

so yep... we ate our food while waiting for the rain to stop. Ham & cheese and smoked salmon sandwiches, potato salad which baby made, nachos w this cheesy salsa sauce, grapes, strawberries... and when the rain doesn't seemed like stopping we played cards to pass the time. Here's my 龙哥 dealing the cards:

and when the shower was reduced to a drizzle, Gladys & Jer got out their blades. I was supposed to learn ytd but the ground was so wet, I didn't dare to try...

oh, and I fell quite stupidly cos I underestimated the weight of the double bike. Such that even when I already braked and was getting off the bike, somehow I didn't balance myself enough against the weight of the bike and *piak* I fell right in front of the 3 of them. HAHA. so clumsy.

now... did you think that was the end of our day? NO! wahaha... we went bowling at the HomeTeam NS place. yeah... its my first time. Jer (and minshan too, she couldn't believe how many firsts I have this yr) almost didn't believe that I only sat there and cheered u guys on the last time I went to the bowling alley with you all. wahaha.

heh heh. that's not my jacket, its Jer's sis.

That's Gladys. She's a shy gal. (Like real lo, HAHA)

and then... my fave pictures of the day (: hehe...

happy happy! with the nice pictures we took... at how the day turned out eventually and we all enjoyed ourselves despite the rain. finished the day with supper at this Teochew restaurant in Bukit Batok (we skipped dinner, too full from the picnic). since I learnt bowling... I'm left with rollerblading to learn! I foresee another trip to ECP before the hols end, wahaha...

let's hope that this sunday will have gd weather! *cross fingers*

Monday, December 08, 2008

last minute plan to go picnic, blading & cycling at ECP.

we made plans about the food, drinks, what picnic stuff to bring etc. We must have forgotten to pray for gd weather.

Why must it be raining islandwide when we are going picnic?!?!

Boohoo. Now we're trying to work out a wet weather plan in case it is still raining when we reach ...

*cross fingers*

pls don't rain anymore, you can rain all you want tml!

morning
friday was a busy day. started off with my dental appt early in the morning at nine. I always don't mind going back to my dentist 'cos he's very nice and friendly. Today... he was just as pleasant, but while cutting the excess wire off & getting it out, he didn't get a gd grip of the pliers.

And. it. dropped. onto. my. chest. with. a. THUD.

OMG. its damn painful, still aching while walking out of the clinic. And if you are wondering, no I didn't get a discount on my bill. BUT, I still like my dentist, haha. he was apologizing profusely cos 'I know it must hurt!'.

X'mas trees everywhere, reminders of the impending Christmas... woo...

afternoon
FYP meeting with dear minshan. It was like a catching up and bitching session with her. wahaha... of cos we did get down to serious work! After our meeting she brought me to Mayim's for some dim sum. Been hearing her tell me abt this restaurant and how the dim sum is reasonably priced and good. So although I was still feeling full from the Sausage McMuffin with Egg meal I had for brunch, I tagged along all the same.

honestly, the food was good! (: I think the carrot cake and xiao long bao's not bad. A thoughtful move to put the xiao long bao in the aluminium covers in case the precious soup inside spills when we pick them up.

evening
change of plans. surprise dinner with Jer, Gladys and Wylin. Was only expecting a simple dinner with Jer, but Gladys & Wylin came along after 'hitch-hiking' a ride. They're to get X'mas decor from Daiso, so we went to IMM with them. went our separate ways... us to MOS Burger to satisfy baby's craving for fries since forever... then the ladies went to shop for their decor.

While waiting for them, we did quite a bit of shopping ourselves... Was persuaded by Jer to buy slippers and a pair of Levi's jeans. Levi Signature at IMM got some decent jeans at discounted prices now, 2 for $99! That'll be my Christmas present... whoopee. I think I have enough jeans for now...

Jer was asking me how come I'm like not in the shopping mood. heh heh. its just that I want to go M'sia first and see what I can get there b4 shopping here in SG. still have quite a lot of ringgit to spare...

Minshan was telling me today that she noticed whenever there's a mention of Jeremy, be it by me or another person... I'll have this silly smile on my face and this light in my eyes... Gosh, is it that obvious?

Thursday, December 04, 2008

didn't expect to see 'Jeremy' on my incoming call alert last night. I thought he was already asleep by then 'cos he said he was tired. then came an even more pleasant surprise! (: dinner date for today at Robertson Quay!

Jer's Mum got this voucher for Brasserie Woof (No, I'm kidding, its Brasserie Wolf :P) which is expiring very soon. So why not make the best out of it? Semi-fine dining. French restaurant. hmm, I would say its my first, other than the time in France... which was why at first I dunno what shld I wear... dress up? semi-formal? bah. a dress would solve the problem but as I put it on... I realised its been ages since I worn a skirt/dress. I was too comfortable in my shorts n jeans. heh heh.

the food was not bad, by the time we shared foie gras, lobster bisque and bread, I didn't quite have much space left for entree. So pasta it was! Followed by a walk to Liang Court 'cos we still had alot of time after dinner...

I need to make a gd habit of taking pics with my camera. I faithfully bring it out but often forget to take pics with it... *GRR* so we had to take shots in the car while Jer stopped at red lights 'cos 我不甘愿!

the mussels were very fresh, and yummy!

I prefer this shot to the one we took (:

Thanks for the dinner baby. But, but, but... I still want my French onion soup!

what sparked off my MSN nick (never been happier, thks to you) was watching the 8pm show on Channel 8 on Monday. I love that show, which Quan Yi Feng & Chris Lee hosted, as it never fails to remind me of how fortunate I am. And since I was still feeling the after-effects of how I managed to iron things out with Jer... the contrast in emotions was rather big. I mean... Really appreciate everything that I have. And especially in festive seasons like Dec, with all the spirit of giving and family & friends gathering... I'm always reminded that I am surrounded with people who care & I care for too.

And when you start to appreciate, you feel contented with what you have. And that's when you are happy. Its actually simple... to be happy - be contented with what you have (:

I was waiting for Jer & KTS to finish their gym session in Starbucks... sipping my hot chocolate while reading CLEO. Its times like these where I can don't give a damn about what time is it, or how long I've been there which really make me feel at ease. And somehow, I also realised and reminded myself that this is the last 2nd holiday I'll be having before I finally graduate. And so... I am determined to enjoy this holiday to the fullest. while doing my work. I promise not to neglect it! :P

looking forward to Christmas... baby will be taking leave and be having a long wkend. More time tog! I want to take more pics of us (:

finally its ah pa's turn to be 21... Had my first dining experience at Mushroom Pot with the rest of our NH pp thks to him (: The food was not bad, there are some nice side dishes other than mushrooms too... hehe. who said Mushroom Pot is all about mushrooms?

and well, of cos the 'highlight' of the night was the cake later on. After pong's incident at Double O that time, we had another round similar to his.

which was why he got the top layer of the cake, which was all the mango cos everyone 'refused' to eat it... HAHA.

and then I started my 2nd adventure of the night, at Aloha Changi chalet. which was damn ulu and I nearly missed the bus stop. The bus was going fast and the one I wanted to alight was rather close the the previous one. Phew. It was just a small windy lane from the bus stop down to the chalet area. Trust me, its the quietest chalet I've ever been. Or maybe its Sunday night?

We didn't know that Changi Hospital was so close by till the next morning... heh heh. It was right opposite our chalet, at the top of a slope. In the day it looks pretty much like any other old colonial building... well, the chalet was fun! Though I missed the BBQ and games, but I had the great company of 6 other friends (:

Can't believe we stayed up till 530am, haha... playing MJ, chatting, card games etc. And of cos the topic veered to boyfriends. And we talked about alot of interesting issues too.

Told Jeremy what we discussed, and we had a long chat (among other topics) about those stuff. And I found out that:

1. He wants to have ten kids.
2. He doesn't mind living with his whole family when he gets married.
3. He wants to keep snakes as pets in his house.
4. He wants a Husky. (I love Huskys too but its nt easy to take care of one. I would love a Golden Retriever! :P)

I told him no way will there be 10 kids, can you imagine how the house will be like?! And he said '5'. LOL. He was joking about the 10 la. And NO snakes... its a absolute no-no. Yikes. I can't picture them as 'cute', sorry baby... haha.
