well, there were many times while busying myself with 326 and FYP that I got the urge to pen down the frustrations or just rant. But then I stopped myself because I told myself, its the last time. Probably, the last time we will ever be complaining about schwork.
so yeah, its not new that 326(our HR Metrics module) is driving the whole cohort crazy. What with the last minute 'new' instructions... some silly assignments which we feel doesn't value add sometimes... ah. the list goes on. So now after recess we'll have another Prof to lecture the second half of the semester. Let's see if things start looking up.
Meanwhile... Jer has been busy with his own projects and work too, so I was trying to be the understanding gf. haha. actually we were only supposed to see each other this weekend cos he initially had to work on his project last nite. but silly him hurt his back while taking the stairs up to his 11th floor flat. so yeah, of to acupuncture we went. Though it was just a few hrs but still, quality time spent! :D
oh, one other thing... planning for grad trip with my yr 1 classmates. we are having a hard time deciding on western or eastern aussie, and actually Lionel Joyce and me are quite keen to go Taiwan/HK... but one thing's for sure, no matter where we go, we're setting off somewhere mid-May! so have to work hard on saving whatever I can for the trip. Woo~
lots of random stuff to mention cos its been so long since I blogged... gd luck to your mocks you guys! and for the rest, hope you enjoy whatever's left of your recess week~ <3 some pics of food that I've tried recently below so this wont be such a wordy post!
At The Pizza Place in Raffles City for our project meeting... the carbonara sauce was a tad too peppery but the mochachino tasted great :D
Nasi Lemak from Old Town, the chilli is shioook! oh, and I think the White Milk Tea taste fantastic too, very fragrant and smooth taste

its about time I clear the cobwebs already piling up in my blog. I know its stagnant! to cut the story short, let's just say I've been busy with FYP, stupid BH326 assignments and trying to strike a 'work-life balance' :D
Weekend trip to JB
first time I tried go-karting... despite the many times my go-kart died on me ('si chia' lo...) I think its damn fun!
some of the other ladies with me... the entire group is very big, 18 people altogether!
all in all it was a fun trip. The suite was quite big with 3 bedrooms and plenty of space for 18 rowdy adults. There was even a jacuzzi and steambath, which unfortunately I didn't get to try. they were smoking inside the room, so yeah... with my headache I excused myself. during the trip I relented... haha, usually I try to discourage Jer from smoking as much as I can. I know he's tried hard to not smoke, so even though he was a light smoker, he rarely smokes now (and I'm touched by this 'cos I know its not easy!). so ya la, closed one eye during the holidays.
Valentine's Day
Jer and I are both not strong advocates for monthly anniversaries (those silly 99 days, 199 days and what-not), and certainly not V-day. Not that we don't appreciate a time to express our feelings, but we both feel its too commercialised. heh, its lost its meaning somehow. A display of affection, appreciation somehow evolved to become a display of how many flowers/bouquets I received, how expensive was the present bought etc.
anyway, we spent V-day tog with his relatives at his cousin's place. His ma ma (grandma, just like little nonya) and aunt/uncle were very sweet to buy little gifts for couples in the family! and there was chocolate fondue and other homemade food which brings a smile to your face. you see the effort put in and can really feel the 'love' put in while preparing the food. hahaha. I'm not exaggerating... I especially liked this fruit salad which his aunt painstakingly arranged the strawberries on top into a heart shape. The fruits were all fresh and sweet!
a close-up on the lovely salad, pretty myriad of colours!
so after months, proud to say that Jer and I are still going strong (: not that I had no confidence... haha. I made some choc truffles based on a very useful recipe found on 8 days. Fortunately, it turned out tasting great! if you are wondering abt Jer's present to me... the whole thing is actually quite funny. I ruined my own surprise unknowingly :P 'cos the only free time he had b4 Vday was his dinner time before a project meeting at suntec. but as I was in the area I asked him out for dinner... which totally ruined his chances of springing a surprise on me, since he didn't have time to get the stuff.
but you know what, after knowing it... I had a gd laugh and still felt happy and loved. I know how busy he had been and how he is not gd at remembering dates... so the fact that he thought abt it and tried to plan for a surprise... It doesn't matter if I didn't receive anything from him. cliche as it may sound, I already have what I want and I am contented! (:
by the end of June, it would be one year since we got together... and recently having met up with Jer's friend as they were playing tennis just brought back memories of how it all started. Alexandra/Ikea/Anchorpoint area is very special to us... because it was where we had our first date. and where he confided in his best friend (who lives in anchorage. coincidental isn't it?) which eventually led him to speak to me about us and his feelings...
hope for many more happy days to come and I sincerely hope that friends around me who are still looking for the Mr or Ms Right... will find the ideal partner one day. You never know, love has its ways of finding you!

lately V'day seemed to pop up quite regularly in my conversations with friends. And it all ended up in me being asked: 'so what are you getting/doing for Jer?'
and my answer to everyone was: 'I dunno, we're not very particular abt dates and occasions like these'.
so just now I asked Jer casually was there anything he wanna get for himself lately or what he wanna do. And he thought it was for his birthday. haha, see? I told you we're not THAT particular. I guess our common perception is that it doesn't mean we can only meet on V'day. or HAVE to meet on V'day. The whole thing is too commercialized.
so on Vday we'll just spend the day tog, doing sth we like. Maybe a movie, playing badminton or just plainly idling around at home. Or maybe we can even eat a homecooked meal at home. Just spending quality time tog (:
today's badminton was quite a gd 1st experience. although I was back to my I-don't-feel-like-running mode 'cos I'm inconvenienced. but still, it was fun to be playing with Pong, Weizhe, Minshan, Minchee & her bf. Minchee is damn funny, hahaha. she always makes us laugh with what she said. But when bathing I find the cubicles a tad too cramped. Gosh, I couldn't really turn around much and lucky I brought my plastic bag in or my clothes would be wet from the shower spray.
Anyway, I think from now on Tues will be my badminton day with the NH pp. Cheers to healthy living!

my phone decided to fail me. and try as I might, I still cannot hear anyone on the other side of my phone although they can hear me perfectly. thus my 'mock' conversation with Jer today drove minshan and joyce to laughter. I said I can't hear him and went on to babble everything else I wanted altho I noe I can't hear what he would reply at all. But Minshan & Joyce said I sounded as if I was carrying a normal conversation, LOL. even Jer tot I was joking and aft I hung up he continued the talking on the other side. OMG! hahaha.
its nice to be uncontactable once in a while. but not while this is a busy week and I have things to settle and needed to be contacted. and you know what, when I reached home I somehow wasn't very worried afterall. I know the right people will know where to reach me. And sure enough, Minshan and Jer called me on my house phone! (:
let's see what we have this week...
Tues - badminton with the NH pp
Wed - 326 meeting, career fair, watch tennis game between Jer & fren
Thurs - elective
Fri - reunion dinner with Eric & co! :D (finally!)
Sat/Sun - off to M'sia...
Sorry guys about nt joining in the steamboat... I'll see you all on the next outing ok? (:
