its about time I clear the cobwebs already piling up in my blog. I know its stagnant! to cut the story short, let's just say I've been busy with FYP, stupid BH326 assignments and trying to strike a 'work-life balance' :D

Weekend trip to JB

first time I tried go-karting... despite the many times my go-kart died on me ('si chia' lo...) I think its damn fun!

some of the other ladies with me... the entire group is very big, 18 people altogether!

all in all it was a fun trip. The suite was quite big with 3 bedrooms and plenty of space for 18 rowdy adults. There was even a jacuzzi and steambath, which unfortunately I didn't get to try. they were smoking inside the room, so yeah... with my headache I excused myself. during the trip I relented... haha, usually I try to discourage Jer from smoking as much as I can. I know he's tried hard to not smoke, so even though he was a light smoker, he rarely smokes now (and I'm touched by this 'cos I know its not easy!). so ya la, closed one eye during the holidays.

Valentine's Day

Jer and I are both not strong advocates for monthly anniversaries (those silly 99 days, 199 days and what-not), and certainly not V-day. Not that we don't appreciate a time to express our feelings, but we both feel its too commercialised. heh, its lost its meaning somehow. A display of affection, appreciation somehow evolved to become a display of how many flowers/bouquets I received, how expensive was the present bought etc.

anyway, we spent V-day tog with his relatives at his cousin's place. His ma ma (grandma, just like little nonya) and aunt/uncle were very sweet to buy little gifts for couples in the family! and there was chocolate fondue and other homemade food which brings a smile to your face. you see the effort put in and can really feel the 'love' put in while preparing the food. hahaha. I'm not exaggerating... I especially liked this fruit salad which his aunt painstakingly arranged the strawberries on top into a heart shape. The fruits were all fresh and sweet!

a close-up on the lovely salad, pretty myriad of colours!

so after months, proud to say that Jer and I are still going strong (: not that I had no confidence... haha. I made some choc truffles based on a very useful recipe found on 8 days. Fortunately, it turned out tasting great! if you are wondering abt Jer's present to me... the whole thing is actually quite funny. I ruined my own surprise unknowingly :P 'cos the only free time he had b4 Vday was his dinner time before a project meeting at suntec. but as I was in the area I asked him out for dinner... which totally ruined his chances of springing a surprise on me, since he didn't have time to get the stuff.

but you know what, after knowing it... I had a gd laugh and still felt happy and loved. I know how busy he had been and how he is not gd at remembering dates... so the fact that he thought abt it and tried to plan for a surprise... It doesn't matter if I didn't receive anything from him. cliche as it may sound, I already have what I want and I am contented! (:

by the end of June, it would be one year since we got together... and recently having met up with Jer's friend as they were playing tennis just brought back memories of how it all started. Alexandra/Ikea/Anchorpoint area is very special to us... because it was where we had our first date. and where he confided in his best friend (who lives in anchorage. coincidental isn't it?) which eventually led him to speak to me about us and his feelings...

hope for many more happy days to come and I sincerely hope that friends around me who are still looking for the Mr or Ms Right... will find the ideal partner one day. You never know, love has its ways of finding you!
