either cos its already my 4th day at work, or its cos I'm lucky today that there wasn't much work for me to do. so its not as busy.. My asst. manager (the person I'm reporting to) seems to be always too busy to give me some work to do. Lucky me that I'm sitting beside a young & friendly lady who is closest to us in terms of age. Both the guys already noted that there is a significant age gap in the rest of the peeps there as compared to us, and attributed the lack of conversation topics to this reason as well. lolx.
anyway, Janey was very kind to lend me some of her magazines to read cos my id doesn't have Internet access and my a.mgr STILL hasn't give me any work. She had gotten those HRM magazines from a Jobcentral Fair, and also some Careers Central magazine. The latter is seemingly familiar cos I think our sch gives out some free copies at the General Office. I never thought much of them till today. And no, its not cos I was bored to tears and too glad to have some entertainment. Those mags are very informative. HRM mags are abt some HR trends which are very relevant to what I'm studying and its a bit regretted that I didn't get to read them b4 the exams.
The Careers Central mags are very useful to us undergrads. They have alot of advice on issues regarding job seeking, interview skills, etc etc. And I saw this article on cover letter & resume writing which I went to photocopy. A gd reminder when the time comes for me to worry over them. But what caught my eye was an advertisement abt the STB Management Trainee Scheme. Its like a DREAM COME TRUE. haha. Its a 12-mths program for fresh grads. And they open it to grads with any type of degree but at least a 2nd upper class honours. Right now this seems a bit daunting.. but the article really gave me some hope la.. The program seems very enriching. And some even get to travel during the 12-mths period. Sth worth working towards to!
Oh ya, I also copied down some interesting webbies recommended by the mag. I'll check them out and recommend them to u guys if they gd (:
Friday's coming, woo!
