well, last day of the year.. Was reading Stomp's starblog and this week's entry is about the most memorable moments of 2007. What better way to end the year by reminicising some of the best/worst moments rite? (now who said memorable has to be good?)

So here we go, my 10 Most Memorable Events in 2007: (In no particular order, but of cos some will be more significant than the others.. hee.)

#1 GSS France/London
The last time I made my way out of Singapore further than Malaysia was in Sec 1 or Sec 2 when I went to Bangkok during CNY. Which was way back. Haha.. So this trip is actually very significant to me, my first ever to Europe, without my family and going with friends.. Of cos, during this trip there are many 'memorable moments', but rather than letting them take up my whole list.. Let's save it for other memories.. haha.

Ok, the ones most clearest in my mind are.. Our lessons and lunches in sch, Paris trip. Perhaps London will be most remembered, for the journey there was hard and long. But no matter wad.. I will always rem the English man who had helped me when I was the most helpless. Standing at the top of the bridge with my 20kg luggage and a flight of stairs ahead of me. I was damn afraid I would roll down the stairs. Just when I made the first few steps.. This hand from behind just took my luggage and a man made his way down in the blink of an eye. He walked away right after putting my luggage down at the bottom of the stairs, never even turning his head back. And I had to shout my thanks to him very loudly.. This act of kindness warmed my heart thoroughly after the rough journey. For that, thank you.. whoever you are (:

#2: Cousin's Wedding at Rasa Sentosa
The first wedding ever for a long time. Not many 'unmarried' cousins left other than me and my bro. Haha.. Always loved weddings for the happiness and joy that surround everyone present. Most of all.. its a chance to see all my relatives (maternal side, that is) besides the CNY. And dressed so differently! Of cos.. its my first time at a 5 star hotel.. =P

#3: Breakfast at Yacht Club
This was before me and Eugene started our r/s, but even before we did it was alrdy memorable. Haha.. nono, its not becos we are tog then now it is memorable. Its just that besides Soonhui, Sompong, Heow Hui, Thong Ler etc he is the only guy outside our NH clique that I can maintain a good platonic friendship with. And its quite amazing that most of our friendship before this has been sustained only from MSN, the phonecalls in sec sch ONLY and yet he can understand me easily like them. Yep, so the first 'gathering' (a bit weird to call it this since its usually used for a grp of pp isn't it, haha) was breakfast at Yacht Club. Needless to say, everything was good.. the weather, the food and everything and it paved the way..

#4: 19 April
Paved the way for the start of our r/s. I still rem clearly that day I was at JP meeting my uni frens to go sch tog and we were having one of our usual sms chats. So when he popped the qn I was like on the escalator and the first pp that knew were my uni friends cos they saw my wide smile and everything.. haha. I'm sure we'll have many more memorable moments to come in the coming year other than this.. Many memories are alrdy etched in me in the short 8-9 months so far. Thks for everyting dear dear..

#5: Primary school gathering at Pizza Hut/JP
this is memorable although there was another gathering earlier in the year becos I managed to meet Weili and Vicky properly for the first time since we grad.. Had a gd time catching up and chatting.. I'm very glad I still keep in touch with some of my pri sch mates cos I know some pp alrdy like lost contact with theirs long ago. So I really treasure whatever we have now.

#6: Dragonboat Freak Accident in Cambodia
Other than the fact that Wei Cheng had been a fellow saint, this incident had a huge impact on many Singaporeans becos 5 talented and passionate dragonboat rowers were lost so suddenly. It made me, and alot Singaporeans, learnt a lesson the hard way. Live your life to the fullest; live it your own way and treasure what and who you love most. Even till now I still visit the blogs dedicated to the 5 warriors occasionally to read thru the msgs. One day, I will no longer tear when reading them and will smile at the beautiful memories they left behind for the people who knew them.

Its really touching to see their friends drop by the blog frequently, to drop msgs to wish them Merry Xmas, update abt their own lives etc as if to chat and accompany them. Let's learn our lesson from now on shall we..

#7: Release of Results
Ok la, I know some people cannot understand why it is memorable (or maybe find that I am showing off) becos you all have been getting straight As all along until you numb to the feeling alrdy.. haha. But average students like me, who have been getting only a string of Bs ever since I gone uni.. This is very significant to me. Of cos, it'll serve as a motivation for me to work hard to maintain the results for the coming semesters (well, not much.. 3 more!). Yay shuhui.. you can do it!

#8: Wearing contact lenses
Indeed.. the initial hassle of wearing contact lens, the 'freedom' of no glasses.. From a love-hate relationship, I have alrdy grown to adjust and come to rely on it.. haha. Shall continue to take care of my eyes and contact lens in the coming 2008!

#9: Harry Potter's final book!
Yeah.. getting the final book. Sth that made me anticipated, and yet when I read it I cant bear for it to end and wanted to ask for more. I'm sure this is the same for many Potter fans like me out there! haha. This book is really good, although there were sad parts like the battle in Hogwarts which took the lives of many people.. I guess the good ending make up for it. Now.. is to look forward to the movie then.. (:

#10: Fireworks@ Vivo, 30th Nov
Now I rem the date even cos it was the last day of exam. And it being so memorable cos I didn't even plan to watch it, didn't even noe the first place.. haha. Last day of exams and went to Vivo for movie and lunch with Joyce, Lionel and Amy.. And was supposed to follow with meeting Eugene for dinner. Only when we were there then did we know, that Vivo City was celebrating its first year anniversary with a small concert and fireworks display the very same day at 9pm.

Sometimes, the most memorable event need not be purposefully planned. I guess this is life, cliche as it is, but really.. life is full of surprises and we do not noe know what will happen in the next second, minute, hour, even year.. This was what I felt when watching the fireworks right in front of me and Eug that nite. Fireworks - beautiful and short.

2007 will be gone in a few hours time.. hope that whatever 2007 had brought you guys this year, 2008 will be even better for all of u. You never know, you might find yourself a new girlfriend/boyfriend.. New friends of course.. but let's hope they'll be those good ones worth maintaining a friendship with. For the guys.. hope your new life, the next phase, which is uni will be a smooth transition for you.

Happy New Year everyone!
